Excellent place to stay!

This was our second time at Calypso Cove. Our over-the-hill girls had an even better time than last year! There were eight of us! Vacasa had everything made up for us as we had requested and the home was impeccably clean! The new lounge chairs were a great addition and much appreciated. Thank you Vacasa and **** for everything!

Exactly what we were looking for

We wanted a house near the beach, restaurants, and activities yet had a nice pool and some privacy. This property fit all of that for us! The house was great for our family and we loved our time spent relaxing and playing in the nice, big swimming pool. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave!!

Great for a multi-generational family (15 to 91). Extremely clean - great kitchen appliances and cookware - loved the back area with all the options from hot weather to cool weather.

Big and Comfortable

The house is laid out nicely for a lot of areas to relax or be with family/friends; and the yard is big and beautiful. Everything was clean (excluding the washer!) But otherwise attention to derail throughout is obvious. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay but you need to have a little more info for the client to make the stay better.

Access to where we wanted to go was awesome for the location.

Fantastic 🌟

This house was great! Very comfortable, very clean. The house had everything you can ask for, the black stone grill was a great addition and very useful. The screened in patio was perfect for outdoor breakfast. The location was great, beach less than 3 min drive and centered in the middle of anything you could ask for from groceries to Dunkin to Starbucks to Wings to Dicks crab house (which is a hidden gem). I highly recommend this house and I hope I have the opportunity to rent this again next year.

Pool was great.

In the morning the pool was perfect temperature and in the afternoon it was warm as bath water. Very enjoyable either way.

Beautiful Home-Perfect for Families

Our vacation at Calypso’s Cove was awesome! The home is beautiful & comfortable, & was the perfect set-up for our family of 8. The bunk bed room was perfect for our 3 granddaughters, with 2 more bedrooms downstairs for their parents & grandparents upstairs. The pool was the biggest hit, along with the amazing hot tub! We grilled so many meals, mostly on the flat Blackstone, but also on the charcoal grill. The kitchen was well-appointed & the home was clean. The bedrooms were large & comfortable. We loved this home & would definitely stay again!

Vacasa to the Rescue!

The refrigerator died on the first day we were there. Our interaction with the Vacasa staff was friendly and proactive. We had a spare fridge set up the next day and a new one by the end of the week. Kudos to them on their friendliness and efficiency.

Would book again!

The gorgeous pool was enjoyed by all of us. Furnishings and quality items throughout the house made it a beautiful place to be. The kitchen was well equipped with anything you needed to cook/bake/mix/fry, etc. Making the bacon and fried onions on the Blackstone Griddle outdoors kept the odors outside. Plus it was a great amenity to have. The hot tub was the nicest we have ever been in. We spent time on the screened in porch playing games during two days that it poured. We didn't use the fire pit or the Tiki Bar. We vacationed with our two children and their spouses and our 14 month old grandson. We were so glad to see a baby gate there when we arrived. I could definitely see us visiting again.

Had some electrical problems(bad GFI on porch). Quickly resolved. 1. dirty dishes in DW 2. found discusting Q-Tip on LR floor 3. sinktops im MB not cleaned We resolved those 3 problems ourselves. Overall had a good stay. For the cost, it could have been cleaner

Great Vacation Home

The house was exactly as described online. The spa was nice and clean and the fire pit was in a corner and you can only get around a 1/4 of it. The Tiki bar was cool. The pool would have been awesome if it were warm weather. The location of the house is conveniently located to everything you would need.

Could have been cleaner, it was surface cleaning.

Overall the house was very nice, didn’t get to enjoy the pool as much, horse flies keep attacking us. Should get a pest control company in to stray and found their nest. Location was great, quiet neighborhood, was a plus.

Still had fun in the rain.

We thought the house was perfectly equipped in the kitchen. Really nice having 3.5 bathrooms and games, Netflix in every bedroom and living room. The pool and hot tub were used even though it was so cold outside and the pool freezing. We still used it and warmed up in the hot tub. I would recommend bringing sheets though because of only having one flat sheet on the beds and not fitted so uncomfortable constantly trying to stay off the mattress pad. No extra sheets. Plenty of bath towels and one kitchen towel. The yard maintenance guys showed up buzzing all over the front yard blowing sand and dirt on our vehicles. The pool maintenance guy showed up and appeared in an unmarked vehicle and all I saw was my granddaughters running in from the hot tub as I noticed him by the pool.

Great home, location, and pool

The home was great for our family of 4. The house was comfortable, roomy, with plenty of things included such as everything you'd need in the kitchen from pots, pans, knives, measuring spoons, cups, etc....plenty of towels, and even things I did not expect like soaps, shampoos, dishwasher pods. The blackstone griddle was also a nice addition and proved very versatile when cooking outside. The outdoor areas were great. The screened in porch allowed for shade and to be away from any flying critters, and was perfect for meals. The pool was a hit. The fact that it was deep and had a diving board was rare to find in a house, and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The trees provided some shade throughout the day (except high noon, which is expected) as well. The air hockey table was also a hit with the kids. The outdoor pirate themed bar was cool, but could have been made better if there was a mini-fridge or something in there to save having to dry off and go back inside the house for something, but wasnt a big deal. The location was at the end of a quiet street, which allowed for some seclusion and silence. The road it's on, however, does not have a light, so be warned that making a turn onto the main road might take some time, as that road is quite busy. There was plenty of parking should you need it. It's still close to everything, within a few minutes you have a grocery store, a super wings, a coffee roastery, a state park, and pretty much anything you could ask for. It's close to Roanoke for some additional things to do like the Aquarium and the Festival Park. Things that could be improved in the future: While the house itself was well cleaned before our arrival, the porch needed some sweeping and wiping before it was good to use. The dishwasher doesnt do the greatest job of cleaning, so a few manual enhancements were necessary. Other than that, long story short: it was a great house and I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Hidden Gem for girls getaway!

My group of girlfriends love to get away. We recently had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in the charm of Calypso's Cove, and I must say, we were utterly enchanted by this hidden treasure tucked away in the Outer Banks! Traditionally, we've always opted for vacation homes with oceanfront or soundside views. However, our past encounters with such properties have left us with mixed feelings. They often came at a premium price and were densely packed, robbing us of the serenity we sought. We've even rented oceanfront homes only to find our precious beachfront space invaded by beachgoers setting up pop-up tents and blasting their music. Similarly, the soundside, while offering picturesque sunsets, occasionally presented challenges with an overwhelming scent of marine bacteria in recent years. These experiences prompted us to seek out a vacation home that could provide us with the cherished seclusion we desired yet still close to the beach, and in Calypso's Cove, we discovered a gem. Privacy & Serenity: Calypso's Cove stands out for its level of privacy and tranquility. Located in a quite cul de sac, it genuinely feels like your very own home. This super clean 4-bedroom home allowed us to disconnect from the outside world and fully immerse ourselves in a profoundly serene atmosphere. Unlike previous stays in oceanfront rentals marred by the intrusion of pop-up tents, Calypso Cove's private backyard oasis allowed us to genuinely escape and unwind, free from distractions. Pool and Hot Tub: The true stars of our stay were undoubtedly the backyard, pool and hot tub. The lap sized and immaculately maintained pool is surrounded by lush greenery, forming a secluded sanctuary for relaxation. The new hot tub afforded us the luxury of unwinding without any sense of crowding from neighboring guests. Pirate-Themed Tiki Bar: The private tiki bar at Calypso's Cove is a delightful addition. The pirate-themed ambiance transported us to the enchanting world of Pirates of the Caribbean, making our evenings spent savoring delectable cocktails and grilling over the Webber charcoal grill feel truly magical. The stone patio and fire pit further enhanced the charming atmosphere, creating an idyllic setting for quality time in the evenings. Screened-In Patio & Grill Deck: The screened-in patio quickly became the heart of our gatherings, from our morning coffee rituals to late-night board games. Its versatility was a highlight, equipped with a flattop grill that accommodated everything from breakfast feasts of pancakes, bacon, and eggs to casual lunches and evening fajita dinners. This setup minimized the chore of cleanup, allowing us to devote more precious time to enjoying ourselves, which is precisely what vacations are meant for. The preparation table was a thoughtful touch, serving as both a staging area for culinary creations and a convenient serving station during meals. Calypso's Cove is a lovely retreat offering a cost-effective alternative to pricey, direc

Absolutely fantastic

This home was super clean and very cozy, we had all the comforts of home here. We enjoyed the little touches like the games and pool toys. Also the kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to prepare meals and more. The bed was so comfortable and the location of the home is very quiet and peaceful. The screened in patio was perfect for meals and relaxing after a long day at the beach. Highly recommend.
