About the host

An ex-pat from Seattle WA, I have lived in Mexico since 2017. My 2 four-legged girls and I split our time between magical San Miguel de Allende and this wonderful beach-town of Manzanillo.
Now, I am ready to welcome YOU to my lovely beachfront condo!

Why they chose this property
Why Casa Alegria? Why Manzanillo?
I have spent a lot of time throughout Mexico, including the beaches from Baja California to Nayarit & Jalisco, all the way down to Oaxaca and including Quintana Roo. There is no denying that ALL of Mexico's beaches are beautiful. But what I particularly love about Manzanillo is two-fold:
1. The water is swimmable. Most of the beaches I have been to in Mexico are surfing destinations. The water is too rough to enjoy unless you are into surfing. The bays of Manzanillo provide clean, calm water.
2. It is not a high-tourist destination. In Las Brisas, you won't find droves of people on the beaches, drinking and partying; nor will you be bothered by hawkers trying to sell you their wares. The beach at Roca del Mar is a Federal Zone, which means it's pretty tranquila.
Casa Alegría is a lovely and comfortable condo where you can relax inside, enjoy coffee or a sunset cocktail on the patio, or stroll 100 yards to get to the beach.
It has been updated a bit, and will continue to be; but I have made it super comfortable and uniquely mine. I am excited to share it with you, and hope that you find it as lovely as I do!

What makes this property unique
THE BREEZE: Las Brisas is known for, well, it's breeze. Hence, "Las Brisas". There is always a wonderful ocean breeze flowing through the condo.
CALM WATER: The water in the bay of Las Brisas is calm and completely swimmable.
It's a great place to kayak or SUP.
CONTAINER SHIPS: Aside from the gorgeous ocean and sunset views, one can watch the container ships come and go from the patio at Casa Alegría. I never thought I'd be interested in these, but when they are making their way into port, or heading out to sea, it's really an amazing sight...an engineering marvel.
NAVAL DRILLS: Also, with Roca del Mar located across the street from the Navy Base, it's also fun to watch the young recruits performing their drills on the beach.
