A blessing in disguise

This seems to be a small place. Yet in the end it’s large. Has 2 bedrooms main floor. There’s another floor. Where was used to quietly do my studies and paperwork. People very friendly. Food, gas and churches right around the corner. It truly is a blessing! Fast and friendly responses to any concerns. I’d rent this place again!!!!!!!

Barnhouse

This rental was very cute and well equipped. It had a pretty yard in a quiet neighborhood. The keypad allowed easy access. The TV was very nice. It was very clean. There were plenty of linens and towels for a short stay. Travel size toiletries were there if needed. The kitchen was nice with plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. However we really only used the fridge and ate out for all meals. We were allowed one pet per her instructions. We asked to bring our 2nd small dog but that request was denied. The pet instructions could be written better, but I understood what she meant. There was not central AC but the wall units did keep us cool. However, to have cool air in bedroom we had to leave our door open because the unit was in the hall which was not ideal for privacy but our adult daughter slept in the loft room. It was nice to have a half bath upstairs but you had to be flexible to use the half bath as it was very tiny with no head room for taller people because of the roofline. The furniture in the bedrooms was fine but I do want to mention that one of the foot posts on the 4 poster bed was very loose and could be a safety issue. Also it would be helpful if light switches were labeled. The light switch for the porch was hidden in the corner no where near the front door. I would also mention that when we turned the AC down the wall unit dripped continuously which we mopped up with towels and collected with a pitcher and glass from the kitchen. The washer/dryer was nice!

Great for an overnight stop on our cross-country move

This place was just perfect for us to be able to stretch and sleep on our cross-country move. There's enough parking for two vehicles, but it was a bit of a tight fight for our 16-foot moving truck towing a car behind it. I'd stay again!

Underrated spot in TN

We had a great stay! The check-in process was extremely smooth and were able to quickly get in and start our vacation. Definitely make sure you get dinner at Los Agaves right down the road. Would definitely come back.

Somewhat Disappointed

Upon arrival at the the Cottage, we were locked out. According to the owner, the housekeeper didn't remember to check the batteries in the door lock. The owner was quick to get a maintenance man over to change the batteries but as it turns out, we were locked out again later than evening when we returned from dinner. The owner apologized and realized she had the wrong dates in the database for the locking system. The home, overall is livable and worked for our very short stay of 3 nights and two full days. However, the housekeeping needs held to task. There were spiders in every nook and cranny, the towels smelled like mildew and the shower curtain was moldy. Since this is a renovated barn to house, A/C has been added after the fact and there are no fans to circulate it. Since two of the bedrooms are side by side for adults, keeping the doors shut for privacy resulted in very hot rooms as the A/C is situated in a hallway. The bathroom has no vent at all and is situated right next to the kitchen making smells coming from the bathroom to the kitchen awkward at best. We used one of the tables upstairs, as the table downstairs only has 3 chairs and there were four of us. We did not use the washer/dryer as we could see along the side of the dryer that the vent hose had been disconnected from the outside exhaust and the heat would circulate back into the cottage. This house would not be comfortable at all for eight people (of any age); it was taxing for four adults.

Perfect location and had everything we needed

This property was close to everything we needed. There is a grocery store one minute away and right in downtown Monterey. Quiet neighborhood. The house is as described with two bedrooms downstairs and a bonus room and futon upstairs. The bonus room has a large television, table for playing games, and a small refrigerator. Nice washer and dryer and plenty of dishes and pans in the kitchen. We enjoyed our stay!
