Cozy Bear is located in a quiet area with convenient access to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg Welcome Center is 4.7 miles away, while Pigeon Forge is 3.6 miles away. You can go to both from the Spur or by picturesque, winding back roads.
The cabin has a single level and is easily accessible from the driveway. You may wheel your belongings to the front door.
The living area is outfitted in a lodge style with a comfortable futon couch, rocker, and a gas fireplace that will keep you warm on even the coldest nights.
The kitchen is well-stocked with most dishes, but bring your own consumables. Set up at the four-person table or take your creation outdoors to the picnic area. The charcoal barbecue is located on the deck, across from the picnic table.
Don't worry if you have a noisy sleeper or a night owl in your company; two bedrooms are on separate ends. One side features a queen bed, while the other has a double bed.
A washer and dryer are added convenience for longer stays. We don't provide detergent, so bring a few pods if you plan on washing laundry.
A modern hot tub, perched in the corner of the deck, overlooks the scenery. When it becomes dark, the string lights that run the length of the deck turn on automatically, allowing you to enjoy your evening outside.
The fire pit area with campground-style seating is located down the steps from the deck. You can get firewood almost anywhere in town. Feel free to collect any dry kindling around the cabin.
The roads leading to the cabin are paved and well-maintained. In the winter, they are also kept clear of snow.
We allow small and medium-sized pets up to 40 lbs. Please include them in your reservation to account for the pet cost. Pets should not be left alone in the cabin unless they are crated, as bears and other woodland critters may trigger them to act out. Please see our Policy Section if you are bringing a service animal.
Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, our cabin is the perfect place for you. Book now and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Frequently Asked Questions:
How many does the cabin accommodate?
The cabin has a capacity of 4 guests, divided into 2 bedrooms. While possible, we don't recommend accommodating 4 adults. The second bedroom features a double bed, ideal for children or additional guests requiring separate rooms.
How private is the cabin?
The cabin offers a relatively private setting, although it's not completely secluded. If you're looking for a truly secluded getaway, consider cabins located much farther out from the attractions. While there are other cabins in the vicinity, none are directly adjacent to ours, and an empty lot below adds to the sense of separation. During the growing season, foliage blocks the view of most cabins. More cabins are visible during the winter season.
How are the roads to the cabin?
The roads leading to the cabin are paved and well-maintained, ensuring a smooth journey. During winter months, the roads are cleared of snow and treated, providing safe access. Please note that the mountain roads are characterized by winding paths, steep inclines, and narrow stretches, so be prepared for an exciting drive. Fortunately, our road is one of the more manageable ones in the area, unlike some of the more daunting options, requiring no special vehicle or expertise.
Do you provide laundry detergent?
Please pack your favorite laundry detergent, as we don't provide it.
Do you provide dishwasher detergent?
Yes, it’s provided.
Is there sugar, salt, pepper, and coffee at the cabin?
Typically, the cabin is stocked with basics like sugar, salt, pepper, and coffee filters, but our housekeepers don't replenish them. We restock when we're there, but we can't monitor levels remotely, so it's always a good idea to double-check.
Will we see insects at the cabin?
While the cabin is treated annually in the spring, its woodland setting means insects will be present to some extent - a natural phenomenon you'll encounter anywhere in the area. Late summer brings a surge in spider activity, with webs frequently reappearing on the decks just hours after removal. We provide a broom for daily sweeping. If thought of insects causes significant discomfort, consider an alternative accommodation in town.
How reliable are the utilities at this location?
Please note that in inclement weather, utilities can be less reliable due to the woodland setting. This is a natural consequence of the location of cabins, and utility reliability can't be compared to urban areas. When the power goes out, internet and water services are also affected. However, if weather conditions permit, utility crews typically restore power within hours. No need to report outages, as the utility company can detect them remotely. If you experience a power outage during your stay, consider it an opportunity to relax, take a nap, or explore the town while the utility company works to resolve the issue.
How do the ambient lights at the cabin work?
The cabin's ambient lights, which create a warm and inviting atmosphere, are smart lamps connected to the internet. This allows us to set them to turn on before your arrival, so you won't enter a dark cabin. Note that these lamps don't have traditional switches; instead, you can control them all at once using voice commands with Alexa located in the living room. Saying - Alexa, lights on/off - will do the trick.
Additionally, you can toggle individual lights on and off by pressing the button at the outlet.
Where is the switch for the deck lights?
You'll find the switches for the porch lights next to the doors. The string lights, on the other hand, are controlled by a timer. They automatically turn on at sunset and off at 11pm from spring to fall, and at 10pm from fall to spring. If you'd prefer a different schedule, just let us know, and we'll adjust the timer to suit your needs during your stay. With the deck lights off, you'll enjoy complete privacy on the deck.
