Maka Nui Estate private family resort style home.

Aloha,

And welcome to Maka Nui! The name means Big view which you will see when you enter the gate to our paradise. The home sits on a cliff overlooking an undeveloped and historic coastline including Kealakekua Bay and Pu'uhonua o' Honaunau national historical park. The beaches and parks below the house feature some of the best snorkeling and kayaking in the Hawaiian Islands.

The house is a spectacular 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom estate residence with 2 additional cottages. There is a great pool on a beautiful privately gated 5-acre parcel in a prime location! This property features the main estate residence with breath taking views of Kealakekua Bay and 30 miles of coastlines and perfect climate at elevation of approximately 1000 feet. All the amenities you would come to expect are here.
Including: A gourmet kitchen and beautiful wood flooring plus so much more. The primary suite has a large en-suite with an oversized tub/spa with a large walk in marble shower and is on the main level of the house.

All 4 lower guest bedrooms have en-suites also. The house features a very large 15 hundred sq/ft screened in lanai on the upper level. This encompasses a large dining table, bar, couches, and dozens of chairs to enjoy the sunset. Also, on the lower level there are spacious lanais to enjoy the views.

There is also an abundance of fruit trees that you are welcome to pick and enjoy...when in season.

The home is equipped with top-of-the-line beds, furniture, art, and appliances. We have made every effort to make sure your stay is the experience of a lifetime

There are several local beaches, coffee museums, parks, grocery stores, and dozens of great restaurants. All close by. The Big Island offers some of the best fishing in the world and the majority of the highest rated golf courses in the Hawaiian Islands. Other adventures to consider are the Volcanoes national park or star gazing on Mauna kea.

All guests will be met with an Aloha basket of estate grown coffee, Hawaiian sweets and tropical fruits to start your stay.

All bathrooms will be stocked including soap and shampoo.

You can also rent the top floor only with the main living area, master bedroom, kitchen, pool, and large lanai, for those who want luxury comfort for a romantic couple (email for price)

1st time to Big Island
The moment we arrived we fell in love with the home! It was perfect has its for our group of 10 including grandchildren. Grandchildren had room to play, adults could escape to more private areas. Each bdr Has its own bath. The home was clean! Equipped with bigger boards and plenty of sand chairs. We all agreed this was our best family vacation yet. Candi greeted us when we arrived. We will be back!

Perfect Family Getaway
A spacious, beautiful home with a fantastic view from a screened veranda was our family’s Christmas getaway. We also enjoyed the holiday decorations, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, swimming pool and the peaceful location. Our kids liked the nearby hiking and beaches.

What a beautiful property! Beautiful views! Candi, the host, couldn't have been more helpful. The home was as described and had more than advertised. We had Chef Brad prepare a dinner for us and it was really good. The location is not really walkable to anything as the roads are narrow with no sidewalks or space for pedestrians. Car dependent but everything you need is within a 10 - 15 minute drive. We totally recommend this amazing place.Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

The house was perfect for our group. There’s plenty of room for a large group and we loved staying in south Kona which is quieter than Kailua. The owner was very friendly and available. I loved the area and the house has a large screened lanai around the house which was perfect to see the daily rainbows. It was perfect

House is amazing, the pics dont do it justice. Host was great. Some of the fixtures and bathrooms are showing their age but not a problem for family stay. The pool had an issue which took a few days to resolve but we spent all our time at the awesome beaches

Gorgeous property
We enjoyed the breathtaking views and the expansive living areas. Maka Nui is beautifully designed with plenty of spaces for both togetherness and solitude. The kitchen is seemlessly connected to one of the living rooms, making a perfect setting for cooking together and socializing. The house has so many comfortable yet luxurious spots to lounge, converse, and take in the view. We really did not want to leave. The location was perfect for us. It is close to so much but secluded and peaceful. We really appreciated Candi's hospitality and the mangoes were literally falling from the tree!

no soap in the showers or bathrooms but the host was very nice we didn't ask for anything some things were broken like the BBQ , pillows sheets and bedding were worn out. Once again the host couldn't be nicer and felt she did all she could.

Fantastic home and view!
The house was so spacious and gave our family a WOW moment when we arrived. The property setting is a beautiful garden and the views of the valley and ocean are spectacular! We spent most of our time on the screened wrap around porch just loving the breeze and view.The pool was a perfect size. The location gave us quiet and privacy while being close to everything we needed. Our hostess greeted us as we came and made sure everything was perfect. She was charming and helpful both during our stay and when we were planning the trip and gave us great local tips. We wanted a special place since we were celebrating our 50th anniversary and this was really the special place of lifetime memories. Mahalo to our Hostess.

Great Family Vacation House!
We spent a week in the house with 6 adults and 3 children and it was wonderful! Tons of space for everyone and the kids loved the pool and all of the space outside to run around. We would definitely book again!

Unbelievable views! The house and grounds are immaculate. Candi and Jed are exceptional hosts. Manini Beach is just minutes away by car and offers good snorkeling access to Kealakekua Bay. This house has everything and is precisely as described in the listing information. Our party of 7 adults and 2 teens had a memorable vacation stay!

Wonderful place to relax
We visited Hawaii with our family of 5 and a group of friends. The space was perfect for us! The rooms are huge and there's plenty of living space to hang out together, or spread out and read quietly on your own. The lanai boasts a gorgeous view - perfect for drinking coffee in the morning, catching a sunset, or practicing yoga if that’s your thing. We had a wonderful stay.

A great stay at an amazing house
We so enjoyed our time at the Maka Nui estate. Beautiful views from nice big house with lots of space for the family to really spread out. The screened-in deck on the top floor allowed us to enjoy the outdoors bug-free. Highly recommended.

10 days of paradise
4 couples in this trip. The property is perfect for this kind of group. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom and shower. The kitchen and living area is large and open creating a great meeting area. The screened in deck makes a relaxing area with plenty of furniture on all sides making a book reading get away easy. The pool in the midst of a beautiful landscaped yard was the icing on the cake. Candi was great checking in on us and letting us know we could call if anything was needed.

Why they chose this property

Maka Nui is country but close enough (15-20 minutes) to night life . It has all the stores to get supplies here & great restaurants so we get the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

First are the mascots Frick & Frack (dogs) They love to meet new folks as is always a chance to get treats! Then the sounds of birds & palms rustling in the breeze. Of course the pool & fruits are always a plus! And we are always around to answer any questions. As the pool /gardeners & coffee workers there is always something to do.
