About this property

Oceanfront Island Gem with Great Snorkeling/Diving

Our townhome in this gated, quiet, very private resort enjoys a perfect location - true oceanfront (about 20 paces from the sea) with completely unobstructed views to the ocean and sunsets. Stroll from your lanai, past palm trees, bougainvilleas, the pool and palapa down to the steps into the sea - a private access from which to dive, snorkel or swim. The luxury of walking a few hundred feet to warm, calm, crystal clear water of this quality can't be overstated. A fabulous reef and sealife are just a few yards from your patio.
Our location within the resort enjoys consistent sea breezes unblocked by other buildings and we never hear neighbors, dogs or traffic. Our new windows and doors are louvered and screened - allowing you to keep out the uninvited [occasional mosquitos/geckos], without closing off the cooling winds. Our kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need in the way of high quality appliances and utensils. There is A/C on both levels, hot water at the kitchen and both showers, portable and ceiling fans, full size refrigerator, quality cookware and more. The bedroom has an ensuite bath, a comfy king size bed, a second large deck with seating, and an unobstructed view overlooking the sea. Everything you'll need to relax, unwind, and enjoy - the views, the sun, the water, and your vacation. Should you ever have an issue our manager cannot solve to your satisfaction, you can call or email us and we will find a solution.

There is a lot to see and do on Curacao. You'll find that most of the development - the resorts, the homes, hotels, shops/businesses, traffic, and people are concentrated in and around the bustling, multi-cultural city of Willemstad. The city and old Dutch harbor area are worthy of a site-seeing trip, but you'll be very happy to be returning to the quiet of the west end and your townhome.

GET AWAY - Come to the west end of Curacao if you are looking for the relatively 'undiscovered', undeveloped and uncrowded part of the island - where traffic, crowds, and congestion aren't available. What this area does have is beautiful, tranquil beaches, calm, protected seas with fabulous sea life, and a healthy reef system right off shore. Two beautiful national parks are just 5 minutes away from the resort.

The water here is the calmest on the island, crystal-clear, and warm. Our resort has private sea access that is never crowded. There is great snorkeling and diving just steps from your patio door - with 2 full service dive shops very close by. For variety, there are many great shore dive/snorkeling sites and five of Curacao's most pristine, uncrowded beaches within 5 minutes. Their is a sand beach an easy 300 yard swim or walk away. Eight restaurants [including 2 of the island's highest rated] are also less than 5 minutes away.

The resort is gated, private, quiet, uncrowded, and safe - with friendly and helpful on-site managers to assist you. There is secure off street parking, a beautiful pool and tropical landscaping.

The Unique Benefits of this Townhome:
Our new patio doors, and louvered windows and front door are all screened and will maximize the cooling breezes while keeping out the occasional mosquito, colorful geckos and tropical birds.
There are separate air conditioning units for the bedroom and the main level. You'll appreciate the custom blinds, full size refrig, and hot water at the showers and kitchen sink - among many small, added comforts that will make your stay more enjoyable.

You are sure to enjoy the fabulous view of the sea and sunsets from the bedroom and its adjoining deck, along with the bedroom's private bath, air conditioning, and the comfortable, king size bed w/memory foam pad.
You'll make good use of our patio furniture on both decks, the full size Weber grill, the beach chairs, safe, beach towels, portable coolers, and fans - and you'll find that our kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and utensils. The Wi-Fi connection, Direct TV, new LCD, and DVD player may be valuable if the quiet becomes unbearable.
If there are more than 2 in your party, there are comfortable accomodations on the main level, including another bath complete with shower, and a separate AC unit. You must advise us when booking if there will be more than 2 guests.

Anyone staying here will appreciate our location - wonderfully landscaped with colorful flowers and coconut palms and incredibly convenient to great swimming, snorkeling and diving in crystal clear, calm water. The location of our townhome on the resort is such that no other resort buildings obstruct the views or the sea breezes [which cool the townhome], and we are far enough from the resort's neighbors that we never hear dogs or traffic. The true ocean-front setting - just a few steps from the ocean - offers a totally unobstructed view of the sea and our often breathtaking sunsets. There are games, books, artwork, maps, and many other custom touches that will remind you of home - and that this is a home, and not just a rental..

Marazul is not a catored, room service style resort/hotel - It is a private and quiet sanctuary in one of the island's most beautiful locations - incredibly convenient to its best beaches, best snorkeling/diving, and natural beauty.
Our town home is not a large, luxury villa - It is a comfortable, clean, thoughtfully furnished, and very well equipped, one bedroom, true ocean front town home - in a spectacular location. You will find everything you need here to have a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable island vacation.
We think you'll agree that it's more than a rental - it's a home that you are invited to share. We're very confident that you'll be happy to call it home during your island vacation.
We supply our guests with all of the information they will need in order to know what to expect - on the island, at the resort, and in our town home. This helps them make the best choices possible and insures that they will have their best island vacation.
Please look at our reviews, and also at our calendar.

Terrific spot

Gorgeous view and clear water for snorkeling from shore. The rental was perfect for us with the kitchen, two bathrooms and two patios. Everything is clean and maintained. Especially liked the vegetation near the patio for privacy and shade. Loved the nearby beautiful beaches! Owners very responsive and helpful.

A Week at Beautiful Marazul

My favorite thing about vacationing in the Caribbean are those indescribable shades of blue blue water. You get to enjoy that at Marazul – a beautiful property, situated on the best part of the island. It is located near the most gorgeous beaches, tucked in and around the curves and rocky faces, you come upon white sand, and the clear blue sea. We were met by the managers, Tommy and Ule, a wonderfully cheerful and accommodating couple who were always available for any questions or information. The condo had everything we needed, the furnishings were nice and the owners have thought of a lot of little things that were very helpful, such as a small cooler, which was nice for transporting groceries or taking cold water and pop to the beach. Their instructions and tips were hugely helpful and we took them everywhere. We were lucky enough to have the owner, Linda, on site while we were there, not because we had problems or needed her, but because she’s a terrific person and lots of fun. We were there to snorkel and checked out most of the beaches at our end of the island, including snorkeling at Marazul every day. We encountered everything from octopus and eagle rays, turtles and a remora to the usual brightly colored band of suspects. Town was farther away than we expected and as we like to eat dinner out, there was not a lot to choose from without driving into town. We ate at Sol Food 3 nights out of the week, enjoying Sunshine’s company and her pizza! Willemstad was very touristy, geared for the cruise ship crowd –worth checking out for the architecture and the floating bridge, but that was about it. Oh, and a glimpse of the Queen (Beatrix) who happened to be visiting while we were in town. We did also enjoy the gelato that Linda recommended! We enjoyed our stay at Marazul and as it was our first time using VRBO, felt extremely lucky for the excellent accommodations and the wonderful people we met.

An aquarium for a backyard!

We stayed for 8 nights. Due to flight delays, we arrived very late but the instructions got us there quickly and painlessly and our unit was open and waiting for us. We awoke to the stunning cliff top ocean view and friendly iguanas. The residents and other guests were friendly, the staff as well. All gather daily at sunset to socialize and celebrate another beautiful day. We spent very little time in our room, but we did snorkel off the walls a few times as well as a little pool time. There’s just so much to do on the island, we barely scratched the surface. Adored being in Westpunt, lots to do right around there and not too bad of a drive to the other side of things. We loved the bakery of Centrum and ate most of our meals in with sandwiches packed for our daily activities in the provided cooler. All the necessities to get us started were provided, cookware and spices, even charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. Note there is no true oven which we realized after stupidly overpaying for some American frozen pizzas. There is a toaster oven, stovetop, and microwave. Dipping tanks to disinfect and rinse your snorkel/dive equipment are available by the pool. We saw huge schools of fish, a big green moray eel, and amazing coral in our snorkels off the wall, don’t miss the big patch of brownish anemones between the two stairways. We felt extremely safe everywhere on the island including here. Property is gated, probably more to keep out goats than people, haha! We kept the windows open during the day and a/c’s on at night. We were party of three and just enough space for us. Hot water in the showers and kitchen was fine. We used the community washer (just one) once using a $3 token from the office and hung our clothes to dry on the balcony lines. No issues at all, very laid back basic stay in an absolutely phenomenal location. Thank you Pitts family and Marazul crew!

Relaxing, refreshing and rejuvinated after GREAT time at Marazul

Just wanted to start this email with a shhhhhhhhh. Dont tell anyone else how amazing your place is or how crazy beautiful Curacao is or once people catch on there won't be any more room or the island will end up totally over developed. Your island home was wonderful, clean, nicely equiped, GREAT bed, basically a true home away from home. The only thing that was missing was a smoke detector, we are basically grasping at straws to find something to add, so the smoke detector is it. Tommy & Uli let us borrow their little Weber It was a nice time to be there as the other units were basically empty, good for us, cause our vacations are about us connecting and we both work with so many people on a daily basis that having no one around is perfect... Loved the upper deck.. coffee & baileys in the morning and toasted the sunset with Rum punch!! Perfect.. We knew we were in the tropics so took everything in stride--time, mosquitos, no see um, ants... no big deal... We used the pool and swam/snorkelled out front in the sea a lot.. Uli & Tommy were really great, when we needed them, other than that they just checked in or waved.. very unobstrusive, which was perfect.. We ate at Sol Food.. great folks and food... wish we were them... Landhuis Daniel was another favorite.. The Indian food restaurant in Rif fort was AWESOME... Indi is a Toronto transplant so we had a great conversation... We didn't eat out much because we didn't have to-- nice kitchen and bbq.. cooking is so much better when you have time to cook.. we are beach people.. Loved Cas Abou, Port Mari, Kenepa.. Playa Jermimi was another fav... we found the deserted resort and were the only people on the beach there all day.. Playa Largo had the best snorkelling and we spend hours every day snorkelling..Pay the landowner the $5.00, take the left fork and stay left. .Basically, tried them all in the first week and kept going back to our favs.. Drove around the island to the southern end.. that was fun and we didn't get lost trhying to find Santa Barbara beach that we never did but the Hyatt is hiding it... anyway, thank you for sharing your lovely island home with us.. anytime you want to visit the southwest region of Ontario, Canada, come and stay with us.. We came back home, very relaxed, rested, tanned and refreshed... thank you

Relaxing Vacation

Linda and Steve were great to work with. They were prompt and informative, when booking with them, and made the whole process very easy. Their townhome was very well equipped and comfortable. It was very clean and we loved the furnishings and decor. After waking up in the comfortable king size bed, we had our morning coffee on the wicker table and chairs enjoying our close ocean view and watching the hummingbirds. The kitchen had all of the basics we needed but we only used it for breakfast and sometimes lunch. There is no dishwasher but it was easy to keep up with the few dishes we used. I never saw an ant or bug inside but we were very careful to keep the kitchen clean. The upstairs balcony was spacious with a table, chairs and a clothes line which was very handy. After showering we hung our washcloth and towels out to dry which they quickly did. The wifi worked great and we were able to keep up with the world when we wanted to. We brought DVD's with us and after returning from dinner each night we would watch an NCIS episode or two. The clothes washing machine building is located steps away from this unit and there is not dryer. (electricity VERY expensive on island) Each load is $6 so you might want to consider that when packing. Steve and Linda provided us with helpful and recommendations and information upon booking. They were spot on with everything. Go West diving was both conveniant and professional. We had the unexpected pleasure of snorkeling with a pod of dolphins after our last dive We booked our rental car with D&D and Daniel met us upon arrival We were in our car and on our way very quickly. I sent Sunshine, with Sol Foods, an email before we left home and made dinner reservations. She also sent me helpful and entertaining information that was useful on our trip. We enjoyed our Sol Food dinners and tried something new each night. It was all good! This was such a relaxing trip. Linda and Steve's Marazul townhome was the perfect choice for us. It is not a fancy place but is charming and cozy. Everything was in good shape and very clean. I wondered if we would regret not splitting time between Willimstad and Westpunt but we did not. It was fun to spend a day there but we preferred Westpunt. When we return to Curacao we wouldn't stay anywhere else. If you want a peaceful vacation this is it!

Perfect resort for us!

This condo was perfect for our family of 4! The photos are a true representation of the property. The location is ideal for the many excursions that we took especially to the area beaches, Sheta Boka park, Christoffel park, and a day trip to the city. No matter where we went we wanted to be back at our condo for one last snorkel and the sunset! The condo was very clean and comfortable. We never ran the AC as we liked the windows open at night. The owners were on site during our visit. They are friendly and full of island knowledge. Linda emailed me very helpful information months before our visit. All advice was spot on. We enjoyed our trip and would absolutely stay in this condo again if we return to the island!

Amazing Views

Definitely gets a 5 out of 5! I think that Curacao and Westpunt offer both a place to relax and do nothing or be active snorkeling & scuba diving. But above it all is the amazing views. Would definitely recommend the Marazul Dive Resort; clean, safe and friendly.

Lovely views and ocean breezes

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this town home just yards from the ocean. There is a small porch looking out toward a lovely bay with boats. We enjoyed an ocean breeze every day of our stay. There is also a second-floor deck with views of oceans and palms. The place is not fancy, but it is clean, newly painted and well supplied. The owners are very conscientious and provide fantastic and detailed information about the place and the area beaches, restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed the quiet side of the island, and we loved being able to snorkel right off the wall in front of the property. This was a marvelous place to relax and stay put, but there were also great choices for nearby beaches and activities.

Fantastic townhome

Steve and Linda are very nice, and offered lots of suggestions for us to enjoy the island. Their townhome is exactly as advertised and very clean and comfortable. The resort is quiet and friendly, has wonderful views, and good snorkeling right off the steps into the sea. Linda was kind enough to provide a several page write-up about the island and the condo before our arrival, which was very helpful - including directions from the airport to the best grocery store, and suggestions for the best restaurants. We recommend renting Steve and Linda's townhome without hesitation. Steve and Linda - thanks for renting to us.

Great place - would stay again!

My wife and I stayed about 6 days in July 2018. Everything was as advertised. Kitchen was well equipped. We bought fish from local fishermen - red snapper, mahi mahi. Cooked most nights. Snorkeling just down steps on property was great. Townhouse is in a nice location, plenty of beaches within easy driving distance. Willemstad is less than an hour away which made for a good day trip one day. We definitely recommend this townhouse and would stay again. Thank you to the owners and the property manager for a great vacation!

Beautiful & Blissful!

Wonderful ocean front location with perfect ocean water and temperature for one of our most relaxing family vacation. Snorkeling, watching fishes run/fly from big Tunas, Dolphins etc and the iguanas with the beautiful blue ocean right in front of us! Confortable and sufficient for our family of four. Nice & friendly neighbors/tourists. Due to no fault of anyone, purely a mother nature issue, the rain brought a lot of mosquitos! They wait by the doors/screens when you open especially dusk, they were hard to get rid of indoor. Mosquito net & coil are necessary. They were a real big nuisance but we did not let them ruin our vacation.

Perfect Honeymoon Destination

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights for our honeymoon. The Marazul Dive Resort could not have been more perfect. We specifically were not looking for an all inclusive resort because 1) we knew we wanted to cook our own food and 2) we wanted somewhere slightly remote that would not be overpopulated. After reading a lot of reviews and doing some research, we decided to stay in Westpunt, and specifically at Steve and Linda's place. There was a fully equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms, plenty of space for spreading out, a very comfortable bed, and views to die for. We had dinner every night (with the exception of one night where we dined out) on the second floor balcony overlooking the ocean as the sunset in the distance. It was truly breathtaking. The resort itself is more like a residential community than it is a traditional "resort". The entrance and exit are both gated which we appreciated, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and the house was very clean when we arrived. You have the freedom to prepare your own meals, sit by the pool undisturbed, and maintain your own house (although there is an option for cleaning services). It was exactly what we were looking for. We had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Linda as they were staying a few doors down from us. They were extremely friendly and in addition to gifting us a bottle of champagne to celebrate being newly married, they provided a lot of helpful tips and insights. If you're looking for privacy, ocean views, onsite access to great snorkeling and diving, close proximity to beautiful natural beaches and that 'home away from home' feel, this home is for you. We will definitely be back in the future.

Fabulous Experience

We recently spent 15 nights at Marazul unit 8A and could not have asked for anything more. Steve and Linda provided us with everything we needed, and the typed up notes from Linda prior to our trip was so beneficial. We enjoyed the pool every day and most days we were the only ones. Having stair access to the ocean was also a treat for snorkeling and swimming. Cleaning service and fresh linens were provided 1/2 way through our stay which was an added treat. There is air conditioning downstairs as well as in the bedroom, however we found we only needed to use the one in the bedroom at night which was wonderful for a good night sleep. If you are divers like us, we reccommend renting your equipment from Go West Diving which is a short 5 minute drive away. There are a multitude of shore diving locations with fabulous coral. There are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and we never found them crowded. We took Linda’s advice and made a reservation at Sol Foods for dinner as we arrived in the afternoon on Saturday, and we were so greatful we did. We also had dinner at Trio Penotti and again make a reservation and be sure to order the peanut soup. We would highly recommend renting this unit from Steve and Linda and we are looking forward to coming back.

Looking forward to another visit!

Everything about this rental experience was great. Linda and Steve provided us with an abundance of information on the island and the area before our arrival and were also very detailed on what to expect with the unit itself. All of the information was valuable and spot on. We were delighted to find the unit exactly as described upon our arrival and everything was clean and in good working order. The space was perfect for the two of us. We loved waking up in the morning and having tea and coffee on the upper deck outside of our bedroom. We watched fishermen going out each day and on several days a pod of dolphins swam by! The resort itself is suited well for diving. I do dive but didn't take the opportunity on this trip but we did snorkel each morning and late afternoon since the cliff wall was literally steps away. Some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced was right there. Just down the road at the harbor is a fantastic spot to swim with turtles and there are lovely beaches within minutes of the home. We made use of the outdoor Weber grill and the cooktop inside. Steve and Linda also have a cooler there that makes it easy to keep items cold when you make the trip to town for groceries. The owners have a great amount of information on local restaurants and things to see on the island in the home and on the detailed information they sent us before arrival. We took their advice and enjoyed every place we visited! Some that I would highly recommend are Shelterrock and Sol Food. We also walked to a few places nearby and always felt safe. All in all, this was a great rental experience and we look forward to being return visitors! Thanks Steve and Linda!!!

Beautiful views in a cozy, well equipped duplex in quiet Westpunt

Condo unit has great sea views and sunsets in an immaculate property with pool in Westpunt. Perched on a cliff with water access at both ends of the property and close, in one case within walking distance, of some of the best 10 beaches and snorkelling on the island. It is necessary to have a car to enjoy the west end. Very close to Christoffle and Boka Shete Parks as well as Playa Kalki, Playa Lagun and a handful of recommended restaurants. Condo has charcoal grill, lots of cooking tools, and a wonderful king size bed. We had refrigerator problems upon arrival, a Sunday, but the owner was immediately available by phone and able to resolve the issue. We would definitely return to this rental.

We absolutely enjoyed the property. Everything we needed to know was clearly laid-out for us in the literature Steve and Linda sent to us. We had a little SNAFU on arrival but all the info we needed was found in literature (print copies and have in-hand on arrival). Dinner with Sunshine at Sol Food got us started to a wonderful week. The snorkeling in the water around the property was great. It was great to have direct water access immediately out the back door. Evening cocktails in the gazebo was a daily routine. We ate breakfast in and had lunch on the beach most days. We made it to 7 different beaches all with great snorkeling. Dinner was at local restaurants, all recommended by Steve and Linda. We especially enjoyed eating at Debbie’ Landhuis Misje. The view from the balcony and patio we’re fabulous. We never got to try the pool. More to look forward to the next trip.

We are a 'semi'-retired couple who live most of the year in the Colorado mountains near the ski resort of Crested Butte. We have visited many of the Caribbean islands over the past 25 years looking for a place with great water/weather/people for a vacation home. We fell in love with the west end of Curacao, and Marazul in particular. The contrasts between the high altitude alpine setting of Crested Butte and the spectacular low latitude waters/scenery/weather of 'our' end of Curacao have been everything we hoped they would be.

Why they chose this property

We chose this [Westpunt] part of the island because it is much less developed, has far fewer people and cars, with calmer seas, and better diving and snorkeling than any other location on the island. The best of the island's natural beauty is found on this end of the island - including 2 beautiful national parks. All of our guests have agree that the accomodation of driving a bit further to shop is a worthwhile trade off. We also felt that the cooling trade winds were more consistent and less obstructed here than in many other areas we visited. The fresh water pool and beautifully landscaped grounds of the resort are clean and well maintained. The resort is very private, quiet, gated, with great ocean access and plenty of secure, off-street is never crowded. Our resort's manager is available to answer questions, fix issues, and help make whatever additional arrangements you may need.

What makes this property unique

The single best attribute of our townhome is a perfect location on the island and within the resort - guaranteed to be appreciated. The unobstructed sea breezes and unobstructed ocean views are unmatched - and not to be missed.
We have spent a good deal of time, energy, and money in creating the place we want to call 'home' while on the island -- and we are confident that you will be happy to call it home while relaxing as our guests and exploring this fabulous area..
