Easy to find and close to town. Nice area to walk dog nearby. Clean open space with plenty of room to spread out. Tranquil view. Enjoyed morning coffee as well as evenings relaxing on the deck. Access to garage parking was appreciated.
So comfortable, beautiful view. Owners, fantastic, very good at communicating. Price is great, we had dogs and a 6m old and they couldn't have been better. Made for great memories. Next time we will book longer.
Perfect place on hillside overlooking the bay and the spit. Spectacular views. The unit itself is well equipped and clean and comfortable. It was perfect.
We loved everything about this home. The view was to die for. The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen was the best stocked in all my rentals to date. We even saw a moose with her two kids right in the front yard?
This rental was very clean, very comfortable and had the most incredible views from the whole east side of the home and deck. Easy drive to the spit and enjoyed being away from town. Enjoyed seeing a pheasant family each evening :-) Would not hesitate to rent again.
All good. Wonderful, comfortable great stay. A momma moose and her baby made our stay perfect. Only improvements could be a working exhaust fan in the master bath area.
We cannot say enough great things about this rental! First and foremost, their pet policy is amazing and we were able to bring our 4 dogs with us to Homer. That alone made our stay amazing. The house is in a great location- far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be peaceful but only 10 minutes to get anywhere! The views are absolutely amazing, we loved sitting on the porch (or even the couch!) and watching the tide come in and out. Luke and his team had a great set up and great communication. We will absolutely stay here on our next trip to Homer!
The house & view are phenomenal. Homer is easy to get around & in this location you still get the peace & quiet of being out of town while being in it. We loved it & would definitely stay here again if the future brings us back to Alaska.
This house is new, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The owners were very responsive and easy to deal with. The location is outside of the downtown area but has great views and is a quick walk to the bagel shop. I would definitely stay here again if I were coming to Homer.
The house was very nice, modern, clean and had all the essentials - great selection of kitchen utensils/supplies and bathroom amenities. We were very pleased that the bathroom was supplied with soap, shampoo, plenty of toilet paper etc, which is not the case with all VRBOs.The furniture was a bit limited if you have a group of 4 but for 2, was perfect and provided an open, uncluttered living space. It was nice to have a garage as the driveway was wet sludge. The house sits in a cluster of four in a large field. It looks like they might be adding more homes in front of this one. If renting in the future, you might want to ask about the effect, if any, it has on the view, which is spectacular. The view eclipses the drabness of the field and industrial buildings across the street (although tucked among these is a great coffee/bagel shop in walking distance). There is a wall of windows in the living room and one bedroom that displays the bay surrounded by majestic, snow covered (March) mountains and Homer Spit. We usually prefer to be in more secluded locations but the view and easy five minute drive into town or onto the Spit was great. Definitely take a drive in both directions on East End as you leave the house. We were lucky to see moose (a cow and baby strolled across the street in front of us) and a battle between 2 bald and 2 golden eagles! Alaska was incredible and this house was great for taking in the sights. Host was great as well!
The Rockfish is an amazing property, very clean, well furnished with the best view, you can see the bay and the spit from the dining room living area, great location.
We loved the in floor heating just to name one of many things we loved about this property, we stayed in Feb/March and it was great to wake up and walk on warm floors.
The host was very responsive and friendly. We look forward to coming back soon, my family highly recommends the Rockfish Cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Luke Grosskreutz
Luke is a physical therapist at a small rural hospital; Miranda is an RN in the twin cities serving dialysis patients. Luke, Miranda, Niko, Georgia, and golden retriever Lambeau make up their tribe and currently live in Northwest Wisconsin. Josh is a charter boat captain and Kim works at a local hospital in between running their two daughters Bristol and Delta around. Together these 4 went to high school together in Wisconsin but still find a way to connect in AK!
Why they chose this property
This property gave us the freedom to visit Alaska with friends and family while still having our own space. It gave us an opportunity to expand a new rental property business while giving others the chance to experience AK first hand.
What makes this property unique
We're just far enough from downtown Homer to get away from the business of summer, but close enough to be a short drive away with unforgettable views!
