Had a great stay at Riks property! Convenient to Frenchman’s st and French qtr as well as garden district , business district and city park. Walked everywhere or a short uber ride. Grocery near by. Well appointed. Enjoyed French press and records. Comfy bed! Thank for a great stay!!
We loved our stay, which included unique features like a record player and pool table. Rik was communicative and provided extra amenities while we were there. We would definitely come back to stay here in the future!
Host-Rik met us at check-in..gave us some insight of the neighborhood and places to go that would interest our 21group.Very helpful! We were able to sleep 6 comfortably w an additional fee but very reasonable…A pleasant stay to celebrate daughters 21st birthday
Great amenities, cool areas nearby, needs a deep clean
Amenities were great (pool/ping pong/records/umbrella), host was friendly and accommodating, cool areas to walk/bus to, relatively quiet. Could use more comfortable seating in the living room, clarify on which unit you're staying in ahead of time. Looked like he was rushing to get it ready, maybe because we requested an early arrival - hand towels in kitchen and bathroom were wet so we weren't sure if they were clean, sink was dirty, dishwasher had dishes in it, bathroom door is very dirty and all four of us left with bedbug bites. This was an unfortunate part, otherwise a good experience.
This place is authentic and charming. Colorful, cozy, and inviting, it offered a nice place to stay that made you feel like you were still in New Orleans and not a sterile, bland hotel. Rik was great - very hospitable and quick to respond. We had a lovely time!
We loved staying at Rik’s. The house is beautifully decorated and clean. We played pool and listened to records every night we were there. Rik was a very informative host, he messaged me a few times with activity suggestions without me even asking. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. We chose to utilize uber instead of dealing with parking when we went into the quarter. Uber averaged 6-10$ per trip. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to New Orleans.
If you want to be close to the French Quarter then this location is perfect. You can drive or Uber in just minutes to anywhere in the French Quarter. It was quiet and we had no issues.
Refused to stay. Blood and urine stains on the mattresses and dead cockroaches on the bedroom floor- mold in the bathroom tub , steel bars on the doors and windows-sketchy neighborhood-all that were not conveniently shown in the advertisement.
Neat little house. Quirky but in a nice way, well decorated and clean. Very pleasant couple of days. Location is fine, but not on top of the tourist bits so quite quiet and easy to find. Still only 10-15 mins to the garden district though, New Orleans isn’t very big. Rik was easy to deal with and communicated everything. Would definitely stay again. Oh and highly recommend Who Dat cafe for breakfast. Half mile away and awesome.
Just perfect for us on our family visit to New Orleans. Rik is an excellent host and the home is clean, comfortable, well stocked, and artistically furnished. Loved the backyard space with chairs and mural.
We had a vehicle but most of our travels were only 4 to 5 miles away and parking was available either in lots or street parking. We loved being in a neighborhood as locals and Rik suggested a music venue just outside of the French Quarter with amazing talent. Thank you again Rik.
This has been a wonderful experience because Rik has been very accommodating and pleasant with his home. Definitely would stay here again when coming to visit the area especially with such an amazing host!

About the host

Hi, I'm Rik! I am relatively new to VRBO however I've been a super host on AirBnB for 10 years. Please read my reviews on their website under "1 mile to the French Quarter!" I love traveling to cool cities and National Parks. I also really enjoy dogs, music, food, art, comedy and cosmology. I moved to New Orleans in 1995, and I work full time playing piano and organ. I enjoy giving guests recommendations when they ask so that their vacation is fabulous!
Why they chose this property
It’s 6 blocks to the Marigny Neighborhood, which is similar to the prettier and less touristy half of the French Quarter. The FQ is also only 1 mile away!
What makes this property unique
I also have a Pool table (which coverts to a ping pong table), a Hammond organ, piano, Fender Rhodes, and a disc golf basket in the backyard!
