Chips and salsa at arrival was an unexpected pleasure after a day of driving. While the neighboring house looked sketchy, we had no issues, and the easy walking distance to the Huron Mountain bakery was a bonus. Had troubles with the electronic door lock (in Mar temperature/humidity, locking required wiggling door so lock would seat properly) but once figured out it was ok.
This is a cute, nicely decorated, conveniently located house in a nice neighborhood. The space is comfortable and a nice place to stay. It’s within five minutes from great restaurants, grocery stores, and the ski resort. We’d stay here again for sure.
Our VRBO stay in Marquette was perfect for our family of five - my niece, her husband and their 3 month infant stayed in the bedroom downstairs, while my sister and I had our own rooms upstairs. The living room accommodated all of us comfortably, including our niece, an NMU student, who visited us as often as she could! We absolutely loved the kitchen and found it well stocked with kitchen housewares; we had everything we needed to make an impressive whitefish dinner (the fish we picked up downtown at Thills!). We found the location perfect too! An easy drive wherever we went! We sincerely appreciated the close proximity to the Huron Mountain Bakery (don't miss it! Great selection!). We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Thank you Lauretta and Andrew! Well done!
Really nice accommodations! Great location and very close to downtown Marquette. House was very clean and perfect for the six of us. Extra accommodations like blanket throws, laundry soap, tissues, and lotions were provided, which exceeded our expectations. Our stay was very comfortable and we would definitely rent this house again.
This house was great for my family (we have 3 young children). Just minutes from NMU, downtown, and Presque Isle. Easy check in and out, clean, and had everything we needed. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.
Great stay in Marquette for the TV6 winter craft show. The host was awesome, the property was beautiful. It does share a driveway with another rental but everyone is so polite we didn’t have any issues with parking.
We had a wonderful trip to Marquette to visit our daughter at MMU. We brought along the grandparents which made this home a perfect choice with having a bedroom/bathroom on the main level. The house has lots of character and that’s what we loved about. Everything was super clean and Andrew was great to work with! We’d definitely stay again!
This rental has been fully renovated with modern appliances. If you're coming from out of town, rest easy—the hostess has thought of everything, from snacks in the kitchen to toiletries in the bathrooms. There's a main bedroom and bath on the first floor, perfect for older guests. The whole house is spotless, and the location is ideal for all tourist spots. Plus, it's within easy walking distance of Lake Superior.
Very welcoming place. Very clean and ,dare I say, cute.
Only complaints would be no central air and water pressure in the main level shower is pretty low. Would definitely not hesitsate to stay there again if in the area.
Everything was as advertised. Very clean! The main floor bedroom and bathroom worked out well as the stairs to the 2nd floor bedroom are a bit narrow and steep for one of us with Parkinson’s.
This property was clean and very easy to access. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed. We really enjoyed the location, being very close to downtown Marquette.
The only suggested improvements would be the shower pressure in the first floor bathroom. Not sure if it was the shower attachment or overall pressure. The second floor shower seemed to be ok.
It was very warm when we visited so the A/C units didn't extend to the first floor bedroom. They do have fans that helped a bit.
Other than those issues, it was a 4.5 and we would definitely go back.
Comfortable, well appointed, close to the beach and downtown
My brother and our spouses spent a little grown-up time in Mqt and this lovely house was our home base. Two full baths, comfortable beds, and a well-appointed kitchen made it a solid choice. The A/C listed is actually a couple of large window units, and they worked hard during the 80+ degree days we were there, but we were able to sleep ok.
Original rental period was two days, then we added on a third day, no problem. Because of weather and traveling, we were unable to actually stay on the day we added. Check-in was flawless, accommodations were good, one bedroom and bathroom downstairs, two bedrooms and bath upstairs. We had no complaints with the unit itself. We were a bit surprised that the trash collectors came by at 10:45 one evening. Was that a fluke?
Very clean and well stocked place to stay! Comfortable bed, dining table big enough to seat 6 and a family room comfortable to gather and converse. We had a lot of snow overnight and the driveway and walk areas were cleared early in the morning. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating. We will be staying again!
Great place to stay in Marquette! Neighbors are a little close on one side. It was only a minor issue at night when they’re on their porch talking while you’re trying to sleep. Turn on a fan and it drowns out the noise. View of the water from the front porch. Kindly stocked with thoughtful amenities! Extremely clean. Lots of room for parking.
