We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The views were amazing! We loved sitting out on the covered porch overlooking the water. The home had everything we needed and it was very clean.
The house was charming with an amazing view of the harbor. The hosts were very accommodating and the house was well stocked with everything necessary and then some. There was a lot of things to do in the area, or just relax on the porch and enjoy the view. I would highly recommend this rental.
This historic house was stunning and very clean. The views of the bay were beautiful and we couldn’t keep ourselves off the porch. The house is fully stocked with anything you could need. The beds were comfy and it is located very close to lighthouses, beaches, and lots of lobster. We recommend the lobster rolls at McLoon’s. Delicious! We also got lobsters from Jess’s market. Amazing if you want to eat at the house. Can’t wait to come back
House was a great vintage representation of what I pictured for an old Maine residence. Property had everything modern you could need but had a great vintage ambiance. Beds were comfortable and all needed kitchen, bathroom and laundry items were available. View from porch is great and owners are attentive to needs. Definitely a relaxing experience!
The home was so warm and welcoming, over 100 yrs old with natural wood and antique chandeliers and fixtures. The view from the veranda was breath taking yet tranquil overlooking the sail boats and lobster boats sitting silently on the sea. The host was just wonderful and so helpful. He provided bicycles, fishing gear and kayaks. And helpful advice about the area and activities. I recommend this idyllic property highly. We definately want to return someday

Beautiful house
This is a wonderful 1912 house that Doug & Sheila have really made into a vintage gem. We loved staying there.
Rockland on the other hand is dismal and disappointing, a one street town with a fantastic art gallery, but otherwise slightly wanting. The handful of shops and restaurants appear to open on an adhoc basis, there are very few bars. The one restaurant with a reputation: Primo, we felt was overhyped and over priced. A slightly edgy feel as you enter town.....
Photos of this house do not do it justice. The view of the rockland harbor is nothing short of spectacular. The house itself has been immaculately restored. The level of detail in this house is just unmatched to anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The beds/pillows are comfy, the linens are nice, the appliances are adorable, the finishes are lovely and they really thought of everything like chargers and charging ports, blackout shades, etc. There’s even a baby gate at the top of the stairs. This is my favorite rental that I’ve ever stayed in, it’s truly a gem and I hope to be back soon. And if you’ve never been to owls head/rockland, it’s a great year-round town. The house has access to a local beach. There is also a great boardwalk along the harbor, cute shops, restaurants and tons of museums. Things do tend to close on Sunday but Rockport/Camden is a very short drive and worth a visit anyway. Thanks again Doug and Sheila!

About the host
Hosted by Vintage Sea View
Doug and Sheila live just down the road in Portland and have had fun outfitting this camp with many interesting vintage and modern amenities. Sheila and Doug have a passion for old buildings and vintage things, and aspire to re-creating a simpler time when one could while away the hours reading a good book and watching sea and and sky for the every changing colors and patterns. They also like to explore the nearby museums and restaurant scene. Sheila works as a private practice LCSW psychotherapist, and Doug works as an electrical engineer at Texas Instruments.
Why they chose this property
Sheila and Doug wanted to create a home away from home, in a true Maine saltwater camp, and share their home with others. Being just over the line from south Rockland, the house is well situated for forays into town to the restaurants and museums, the South End grocery, Jess' Seafood Market just down the street, or Primo, among the finest farm-to-table experiences in Maine just around the corner.
What makes this property unique
Amazing views abound, fresh salt air, comfy beds and living spaces, and a wealth of Maine experiences all close by make this a prime destination property.
