Cute cabin

The good: cabin was cute and recently updated the day before our arrival. The new furniture outside and inside were all very cute. The bed was nice and cozy. All of the blankets and pullows were soft and very comfortable. The cabin was conveniently located to town for shopping, eating and exploring the town. The bad: there were no curtains on the front of the cabin. The front door is a large window, the kitchen had a window and the bathroom had a window all facing the front of the cabin. Two other cabins were right outside our front door and could see in our cabin including the bathroom. This was a studio cabin so it is nice and open, when changing or showering the neighbors could see right in. We did message and ask for a curtain for at least the bathroom and was told the owner didnt want curtains up and that they would not be obliging us. The cabin also has a nice fire place that the listing stated was ready for use but was closed so you couldnt use it which would have been nice and cozy for the October nights in the mountain. The location was convenient and not a far drive from the main road below, however, that meant we heard all of the traffic all day and night. Im not terribly picky about these typs of things but my husband is 6'4" and couldnt fit in the shower as it was a little on the smaller side. The shower head water hit him in the chest and he had to squat down to get his hair washed. Aside from all of that we enjoyed our stay.

40th Wedding Anniversary

We liked the location and the front porch nice to sit out on and the cabin was great for two people!Luckily we have an all wheel car, going up the driveway was a little rough, washed out! Cabin needs some minor maintenance issues. FYI porch where hot tub sits could use some bracing under the tub!

Long weekend stay

Nice cabin although there is no dishwasher. The misquitoes on the fron patio and the rear deck are absolutely brutal. Had to buy citronella and off spray just to sit out there. They need a garbage can a little more "animal" secure. Had to pick up garbage in the mornings because animals had gotten into their flimsy pastic garbage can. The road going into the cabin is way too rough if your pulling something. Gravel with very large divot craters in the road.

The little cabin in the woods

This was a cute and cozy little cabin. The address number could be better, it isn't listed as the same number on the cabin and we actually had to ask anprivate home owner in the same area. Was also under the impression (and maybe it was wrong on my part) that there would be a close pool and that the cabin would have laundry appliances. The hot tub was nice but the temp read display does not work. The door really needs fixed as it is hard to get it to lock (has to be in the perfect spot). The small couch is VERY hard and uncomfortable. In my opinion the cabin should uave a full size couch and maybe a recliner instead of 2 dinung tables and chairs. The outside furniture needs replaced as well as the vlinds. I tried putting them up and they kind of fell apart. This cabin suited us for all that we needed it to and it was pet friendly for our 11 pound dog so that meant a lot. If we ever go back to area i would try to stay here, close enough to the big cities but aqay from the chaos. On a side note- it was awesome to hear the live music and watch the 4th's fireworks (albeit through some trees) from the hot tub on the deck. Also, the driveway up to it could use some smoothing out, was glad i have a higher clearance vehicle and the safari decor didnt make sense to me in a cabin in the woods lol

3rd year anniversary trip!

We enjoyed our stay very much! We felt as though we were secluded despite being close to town! Which we feel makes it the best of both worlds! The cabin was just right for the two of us. It was clean and had all we needed to cook our own meals. We enjoyed a walk down to the river and the swinging bridge as well. We would definitely stay in one of this companies cabins again! Have an awesomely blessed day!

Sometimes, Details Matter

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cliff Haven. We stayed Friday night to Monday morning in mid October; nice quiet cabin as described. If I could make some recommendations, they would be as follows: 1) Make sure everything works. (IE TV, portable heater) It got quite cold Sunday night, and I had to go buy firewood for the fireplace. I wouldn't normally have minded that, but I didn't know the heater was inoperable. And I couldn't even watch football in front of the fireplace! ( the only time I watch TV is Sunday evening anyway. I didn't see any point to call owners, as we were leaving at 8 am Monday. 2) the one inch long sliver of wood we found between the sheets was a bit disturbing, but at least know one was hurt. 3) the dirty pizza pan in the oven was disappointing, as we expected the room to have been clean when we arrived. None of these were terrible on their own. I would rent this cabin again, if available.

Cliff Haven Vacation

We loved everything about the property except for the front door. The first two nights were too cold and windy to stay on the back deck. The front deck was warmer and that's where the grill & kitchen are. There's no door knob on the front door and it was impossible to keep the door closed and keep the heat inside without having to lock the door and use the code to get back inside. By the 3rd night, we were so frustrated we were ready to go to Ace hardware and buy a door knob.

Beware of cheap cabin listings

This cabin was advertised as having a full kitchen set up. However when we got there it only had one very small pan for cooking. Caught up the main office and they finally sent a complete set of pans out about 3 hours later. A couple of days later I asked for some extra towels since we were staying there for 4 days in the office said that they only give you four towels for two people. Also the bed mattress was sunk down in the middle worn out which made sleeping at night a chore. Also the back door would not lock so anybody could come on in. If this place were maintained better it would be a lovely little cabin has a lot of potential. Managing company just needs to put a little extra money into it.
