About this property
Chic Uptown Victorian, Stroll to Magazine St
Available for 30+ day stays - please contact us with questions and requests. Dog-friendly on a case by case basis, must be disclosed at time of booking. One half of the double is all yours!
Experience a different side of New Orleans! Located in the Garden District’s Irish Channel neighborhood, just blocks away from bustling Magazine Street, this 100+ year old Victorian double was thoughtfully renovated to highlight its charming New Orleans' character.
Less than a mile from legendary destinations like Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, Commander's Palace, and Tipitina's, this “shotgun" double is quintessential New Orleans. It was thoughtfully renovated to be more private (unlike traditional shotgun homes), which means you no longer have to walk through one bedroom to get to another, to get to the kitchen, and so on. Soaring 13 foot ceilings, 100 year old hardwood floor, exposed fireplaces, bargeboard walls and cypress wainscot ceilings make you feel like you’re living in a boutique hotel.
Free street parking available in front of the house.
LIVING ROOM
Vintage and modern collide to create a cozy, yet work-friendly/bright space. YouTube TV subscription provided with Roku so you can enjoy your favorite shows.
KITCHEN & DINING
Equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. Just off the kitchen is a full size washer/dryer for your convenience. The 100+ year old, original condition, high-back sink was rescued from a house in Mid-City that sat empty after Hurricane Katrina.
BEDS & BATHS
Both bedrooms are furnished with a queen bed and nightstand. The larger of the 2 rooms has more storage, TV with Amazon Firestick (YouTube TV subscription), and a private bathroom with shower/tub combo. The smaller room has an open concept closet and full bath just down the hall (with shower stall). Extra pillows, sheets and blankets can be found in the closets and dresser.
OUTDOORS
Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch while friendly neighbors walk by with their dogs. The backyard is a work in progress - future plans include installing a fence to create separate spaces for each unit. **Currenlty, both the porch and backyard are shared spaces with our long-term tenant.**
SAFETY & SECURITY
The Irish Channel is a subset of the highly revered Garden District of New Orleans. For peace of mind, there are security cameras at the front of the house, down the side, and in the backyard, as well as deadbolts on all doors. Guests are given a unique code for entering the house, which expires after each stay.

Why they chose this property
We love New Orleans - the people, the history, and the gorgeous old homes! After a lot of research, we found this 100+ year old Victorian double and fell in love with it too.
We invite you to experience the allure of a bygone era in our historic neighborhood. Revel in the magic of old world charm with soaring 13 ft ceilings and original architecture while enjoying modern amenities. During its renovation, the previous owners were extremely careful to ‘modernize’ the house without stripping aways its original charm and character. Your private side of the double has 3 exposed brick fireplaces and original 100+ year old hardwood floors, bargeboard walls and cypress wainscot ceilings. These were caked with paint, tile, and sheetrock and painstaking restored to their natural beauty. In the kitchen, we have an 100 year old, original condition high-back sink, rescued from a house in Mid-City that sat empty since Katrina.

What makes this property unique
Discover the other side of NOLA in what we think is the best neighborhood with the most to do outside of the touristy French Quarter. Clean, quiet, safe, friendly, and central to almost anywhere you'd want to go in New Orleans. Admire the lavish mansions in the Garden District, hop aboard a historic streetcar on St. Charles, or spend a day exploring all that Magazine Street has to offer.
