The property looks like the photos and presents as described. It’s in a quiet, serene, rural setting with a front porch that offers a great perch from which to observe the sights and sounds of morning. Host was communicative and responded quickly to questions. Cottage was pristine, well appointed, and cozy for two people. Being surrounded by horses was a big plus!
Great little home, perfect for those that want to get away from the hotel routine. Bed was supper comfy. Location was super quite and peaceful, sat on the outdoor patio rocking chairs and enjoyed to forest sounds at night with the horses grazing all around.
This is perhaps the best property you never knew you needed to stay at! It is close enough to everything, but far enough away to give you the peace and solitude you need to relax. It’s a beautiful little home that is perfectly decorated. Great amenities. The hosts are absolutely wonderful and are quick to respond to questions you may have. The grounds are beautiful and your neighbors don’t cause a fuss. I enjoyed this stay and I will absolutely back!
My two college roommates and I were searching for a unique place to stay for our 10 year “friendiversary” close to our favorite TV show’s filming sights (One Tree Hill). And found the perfect location! The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we could need within the home. The instructions for arrival/checkin were spot on and the host was very responsive and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. I hope to return with my husband this fall for a weekend away!
The cottage was beautiful, perfect for a quick, quiet getaway. The listing and photos were spot on. If you enjoy the sounds of nature the front porch was the perfect spot to sit and listen! It was too hot for a fire during my stay but the firepit area was wonderful, right next to a small creek. We walked the pastures and there were so many different horses, absolutely stunning!

This is a beautiful clean & quiet property. We stayed for 3 nights but wish we had booked for longer. It is very peaceful & the only sounds you hear are from the horses/wildlife. We will definitely be back in the future.
The cottage was just right, everything needed was provided - it was very nice to have coffee K cups and creamer ready for us to go in the morning. The cottage is nestled in among a slew of horse pastures and trees - a perfect peaceful spot ! The hosts were very quick to answer all questions and have have obviously worked hard to make their property an inviting spot to spend time.
My family and I really loved our stay at the cottage of Hanover Stables.
The cottage was cozy, clean, and fresh. There were plenty of toiletries for our 2-night stay. There were lots of pillows, blankets, and some snacks and water. The air conditioning was literally perfect. I have no complaints about our stay at all!
The property itself was huge, beautiful, and peaceful, with lots of horses around to wake up to. Some of them did let us pet them briefly, which was such a nice experience for us since we’d never been up close and personal with a horse before.
The owners, Chris and Kat are awesome. Chris set us up with a trail ride and it is something we will never forget! For our first time, it felt like a breeze. Chris was so cool that everyone’s nerves slipped away. The horses, Darby, Lady, and Bojangles were so gracious to us. And we can’t forget Butterfly, the cat. Such a sweetheart.
I would definitely return and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay somewhere warm and comforting. The location was tucked away but still close to gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, etc.
Thank you everyone at Hanover Stables! I hope to visit again!
This was a gem hidden on a horse farm—drive down the dirt road and boom there you are, on the middle of horse paddocks, nice and quiet. I would stay here again if in the area. Thank you.
We had the most peaceful, and relaxing weekend trip to this cottage. The cleanliness of the place was exceptional. Great communication with the host, accurate information on the listing, and an overall wonderful experience. We would love to come back sometime.
This is a beautifully decorated and peaceful little place. It is perfect for a weekend to reset your soul. The hosts respond immediately. You've got all you need right here--plus horses to pet.
Lovely accommodations right in the middle of the pastures. What a lovely way to start you day, seeing all the horses. It was a truly nice place and a great place to stay
We had a lovely time staying here. You can look out any window and see horses grazing in the pastures! Everything was clean and organized. It was very peaceful and was a great home base for our trips out to the beach and Wilmington!
I would definitely recommend this little tiny home to anyone looking to stay in the area! The host made the whole process and experience a breeze. They were friendly, accommodating, and responsive. The home was clean, had all basic necessities, quiet and comfy. The horses were a extra bonus to enjoy and we really enjoyed our horseback trail ride! Hands down one of the best stays we've had on vacation. We will be coming back!!
Exceeded my expectations and was the best weekend I've had in years due to the how much this place felt like home, there is no downside to this cottage and location
