We wanted a cabin off the “beaten path” and that is exactly what you should expect. It had everything we needed. It was clean, welcoming and expect the deer to come right up to the front porch. We had a great time hiking at Garner State Park and coming back to the cabin to relax, fix dinner and watch a movie before calling it a night.
Cabin was really nice, clean, and with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. Kitchen well equipped with pots and pans and great bbq pit!! Plenty of deer to see making it really ice for kids, awesome stay!!
Located in a nice area. Very clean and comfortable.

Rustic cabin needs some TLC
Stayed a couple of nights and upon arrival was greeted by 2 very large dead scorpions. Cabin didn’t appear to have been freshly cleaned. The owner did come out within just a few minutes to help with the scorpion situation. It just seems like a routine pest control would take care of it. There were plenty of towels. That was helpful. The cabin got the job done, just be mindful of s orpions.
We came for a weekend to relax and float on the Frio River. The cabin was quite larger than I expected. My family of 4 had a blast and will definitely book again.
The cabin was very comfortable and relaxing and that was just what we were looking for. It had an air of peace. It was very clean. The television was a little iffy, the picture was not clear and it took awhile for the channels to come in.
Absolutely loved this cozy, rustic, but charming cabin. Nice quiet location and the trees provided privacy. Tastefully decorated and clean. Nicely furnished. The cabin had enough dishes and kitchen gadgets. Convenience store is close by for basics. We really enjoyed playing games and watching Christmas movies by the fireplace.
Miss. Becky was a fantastic host—always available and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We look forward to booking with her again!
Check-in process was easy. The cabin was clean with most items needed for our stay. If I could suggest a few things, provide a starter supply of coffee pods, creamer, and togo cups, as well as salt and pepper at least, would have been very helpful. We would also suggest fixing the water pressure issue in kitchen. It did fit our needs as a small family with teenagers. Having the extra bathroom was super nice.
The cabin was comfortable. WiFi worked well. It was nice and cool. Offered extra blankets.
The only thing I would suggest to the keeper of the cabin is to set up a nicely stocked coffee bar. There was no sugar or creamer. We also cooked and there wasn’t any foil paper.

Dirty with Scorpions
The Keurg coffee pot was found to have moldy water in it. I killed 3 scorpions inside cabin the first few hours we were there. Was offered a Keurig replacement but I couldnt trust the cleanliness factor due to the condition of the one found in cabin. Was told scorpions in cabin are just part of staying at Frio River.
Wound up leaving after our first day of our two day reservation. Total waste of time and MONEY.
Property management was quick to respond. Very few rules which I liked. One rule was no pets, that being said there was a cat that didn’t leave. Rooster that woke us up at 5 am. Scorpions that were a known problem, I was unaware. So much my kids were scared to go to sleep. Master bed was absolutely terrible, pillows.. just bring your own pillows. Sorry to leave this review, but I have to be honest. Just needs to be cleaned up around the place. Shower head was extremely low, like to my chest and I am a woman. (Not a man). My son was unable to shower comfortably. Had a man been with us it wouldn’t have been comfortable for him. But other than that, it was cheaper and do able.
