2nd time around
Stayed 6 nights to celebrate friend's retirement. We rented a car but was not needed to get to downtown area. We took the bus which is only a few blocks away and about a 20 - 30 minute ride. We parked in a lot in the downtown area for an all day tour which cost 50. The bus was cheaper and less of a hassle. Downtown was quite congested and it was not the height of the tourist season. Some points to know about the townhouse. The online pictures make the first floor room (living space & kitchen) appear larger than it actually is. It's spacious enough for 3 - 4 adults. While showering we ran out of hot water and we do not take long showers as we are skilled campers. Manager said to space the showers out to allow the water heater to replenish, which worked though was a bit inconvenient. The bedrooms are spacious. On a couple of mornings mice/rodents were heard scampering in the walls/ceiling. Informed manager and was told "it is likely squirrels as there are a ton" in the area. As mentioned by others, if you have knee problems or any difficulty climbing stairs then this is not the place for you. We did not prepare meals other than breakfast. We ate at 2 local restaurants which we recommend - Tito's Mexican and Maggiano's Italian - both within walking distance. The neighborhood seemed safe.Highlights were the Grand Ole Opry tour and show; Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, and Frist museums; Civil War tour; Cheekwood Garden & Estate; and Jelly Roll, Kid Rock & Luke Comb's bars.
