Welcome to Scenic Solitude Cabin at the Preserve.

Enjoy a relaxing stay nestled along Johnson Lake.
Our space offers a King size sleep number, 1 queen sofa sleeper, and 1 love seat sleeper w/ one and 1/2 baths. Quiet, peaceful space offering endless amounts of nature & fishing (no license required) and if you are wanting to do a little exploring nearby offers Rock City, Cloudland Canyon State Park & McLemore Golf Club.

Great getaway to unwind with the family. Fish, BBQ, lounge on the back porch and feel the breeze coming off the lake.

This property is only 30 minutes to the great city of Chattanooga! ** PLEASE NOTE TWO THINGS PRIOR TO BOOKING** 1) This cabin sits on a lake. Anything water activity related i.e swimming, canoeing is all AT YOUR OWN RISK. We are not responsible for accident or injury. 2) We have two security cameras. One is located on the front porch, and one is located on the backporch this is to give us and our guests peace of mind, and also to use in the event of a theft, vandalism, ext. By booking with us you have acknowledged these points listed by the host.

Pleasant stay and exactly as expected!

We enjoyed staying in this cabin. There are 2 ways of entering this quaint fishing community off of Newsome Gap. The way we initially entered was down a long, steep decline of gravel road which winded down the side of the mountain. There is an alternate entrance with a nice paved road. Highly suggest researching which route you’d prefer to drive! :-) We were mainly at the cabin just to sleep so cannot speak on the amenities. The toiletries, linens, and freshly laundered towels were a very welcome touch. The cabin felt very spacious even though the space is small. We felt we had plenty of space upstairs and our young children enjoyed the pull out sofa couch. We did have a thunderstorm one evening and the sound of rain and acorns falling on the roof were enjoyable! Thanks for hosting!

We have stayed in this cottage before, but it has new owners who have have made numerous upgrades and improvements. We had a peaceful and comfortable stay, and will surely return.

This amazing host thought of EVERYTHING. She added special touches to every inch of the home to make it feel so cozy, and like you’ve been there before. Super cute cabin. Fishing off the dock was our favorite part! You will see some neighbors from time to time, but no bother at all. I adored every moment. Will come again :)

Great late Summer/early Fall trip

We had a wonderful stay in a great cabin! The furnishings were perfect and the cabin was very clean. For a small cabin it was spacious and never felt crowded or cluttered.There were many extra touches that made it feel like home, especially the wide range of condiments. My husband enjoyed fishing and even caught some fish. We would definitely return.

10th Anniversary Trip

We enjoyed our stay so very much! The host was very kind and actually helped my husband surprise me with a beautiful bouquet of roses for our anniversary. It’s a nice quiet area and a great location!

Beautiful home

Home was beautifully decorated and met all our needs. Bed was extremely comfortable. Enjoyed the canoe. The lake is not very big (more like a large pond) but the view is spectacular. The only reason I would not give this a five star rating is because of the camera on the back porch. I have these as well, but as a guest, I didn’t feel comfortable going out on the back porch to enjoy the morning in my pajamas or having personal conversations. Also, it would have been nice to have a top sheet and not just a fitted sheet on the bed. Instructions are clear and communication was great. I would say this house is one of the cleanest and comfortable you will find.

Awesome cabin!!

We loved everything about this cabin. The decor, comfy bed, unexpected touches such as hot chocolate and tea packets and other comforts of home that you don't find at a hotel. The drive to get to the property is run down and looks abandoned (old, rusted gate, severe pot holes, overgrown fields, the river had flooded some of the roadway). However, once you get to the gate to enter the actual property where the cabins are, the area improves quite a bit. We would definitely stay here again just because we enjoyed the relaxing cabin so much.

Beautiful!!

Beautiful property set a little bit off the road. Very Clean with a woodsy feel. I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a cosey place to stay outside of the city. We cant wait to visit again in the future. Very quiet and relaxing stay with all the amenities of home. Myself, wife and kids enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Loved all the deer roaming the property at night.

Just what we needed

Beautiful, quiet spot to get away and reset. The cabin had everything we needed—my boys loved the canoe and the kitchen was sufficiently stocked with utensils and pans to prepare a simple thanksgiving meal. The back porch was probably our favorite room! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Perfect couple get away

From start to finish it was an easy process. This home has everything you need for a relaxing get away. The views are amazing, area is quiet, and it is close enough to visit many other places. Inside was very cozy and made it feel like a home away from home. We will be back as many times as we can to this property!!!
