Spiritually energized with lots of nature, creeks, trails, gardens, and a river. We live within the biological corridors to the cloud forests reserves. There’s sloths, toucans, anteaters, coati, porcupines, and we have chickens and farm dogs free to give tours!

Was not able to get in. Nobody at the property. Neighbor I talked to said that nobody had stayed there, or been around for weeks. Will apply for a refund
A bit out of the way, but the land was beautiful. A short hike down to the river right on the property. Very friendly host who set up a great night walk with a wonderful guide! House needs a little updating and a good clean job, but was okay to get a good nights rest.
This is a wondrous, beautiful and 'real' place. Our hosts were incredible, the beds and 2 patios, especially awesome. It is an 'out-of'the-way' location, but Derek CNA help you with transporation. One just 1 short walk, we saw toucans, white-faced monkeys and howler monkeys. For a true 'local' experience that is not billed as, but is, a true eco-vacation!!
I booked this the first week of November for a stay December 21-23 for my son and I. The morning of check in around 9, host messaged hello, and nothing until I messaged at 315 we were there and wondering how to get in. There were clothes hanging on a clothesline, and the place appeared not made up for visitors inside the house. The host then stated that he needed to cancel due to electric company having power shut off and he "should have messaged me earlier." He however offered a neighbor 100km away that could be available to stay instead and then processed to cancel the booking for to 'natural disaster.' Turns out we could not get ahold of neighbors and drove the hour into Monteverde instead.
This land was so beautifully designed and maintained. We were looking for a spot off the beaten tourist hub where we could find quiet, reflection and be in deeper intimacy with the aninate world. It took a bit of effort to locate but we arrived just at sunset.
Completely in awe with the bird life that visited (even the outspoken morning rooster :). And the visit to the river was welcomed. It does require a drive to and from, but if you welcome some time on the veranda watching the birds, you will be invited in.
Loved the simple kitchen and the hammocks.
Really enjoyed Maximilliano, eho cares for the property.
We were in an oven w/o a/c, 30 mins away from center with 4x4 car, dirt road
It's a container, 0 A/C! The place is run down, with broken mirrors, and a dirty including the piece of soap. Reserved the place for 2 days but we lasted only for 1 hour. We found a cheaper and better place in Monteverde! 50 bucks a night, with room service and a better view. Stay away, it's a ripoff! 25 bucks a night for this kind of place!
The owner has transformed this land from a steepish piece of scrub, rocks & grass into a verdant oasis. The love, pride & vision is obvious when we sat on the verandas & gazed out over the vegetable gardens, banana & papaya trees & tropical foliage. It’s now a series of small levels with lush grassy walkways between them. There are a couple of other bungalows on the property but completely secluded from each other & privacy was never an issue. There’s a lovely creek down a nearby path through old growth forest where it was so easy to “bathe in the forest” while cooling our heels in the tumbling waters. The mornings were spent watching the sunrise move over the hillsides while the bird calls serenaded us. We had minor hassles finding the lovely casa so I would offer you follow the signs to San Luis & not worry too much about complicating that. The locals in the nearby town helped us out as I was fluent in “lost Australian” with very little Spanish. My only regret is we only stayed 2 nights as a week or more would be better. Actually, make that a couple of months. ❤️
