About this property
Pebble Beach Paradise on Lake Superior. Amazing views, updated & fresh inside.
This wonderful home is directly on a private cove with pebble beach on Lake Superior. You could not build this close to the water today! Million dollar views from almost every room. Located on highly desirable Cascade Beach Road, a gravel frontage road that provides a nice barrier from Hwy 61 and is great for walking and biking. Super close to Lutsen Mountains (alpine slide, gondola, MTB trails), Gitchi Gammi Paved Bike Trail, Cascade River State Park, and only 15 minutes to scenic and charming Grand Marais. The interior has new Room & Board furniture, new mattresses & linens, three lakeside decks, huge windows, open floor plan, full kitchen with everything you will need. This is a beloved *family* home with 50 years of memories.
KITCHEN: oven, gas range, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, plates, utensils, cookware, baking items, fry daddy, indoor s'mores maker, crockpot, pancake griddle. For outdoors fun there are marshmallow sticks, a solo stove (or make fires on the rocks!). Simple picnic table on the deck, and you can add leaves and chairs to the indoor dinning room table to seat a larger group.
ENTERTAINMENT: Kayak, canoe, PFDs, fishing rods in garage. Even a piano in the cabin! Netflix, Amazon and fast WiFi. Lots of classical and jazz CDs for the stereo, and a big collection of kids DVDs, ...and two toy cabinets filled with toys and board games!
KIDS: There is a pack and play on site but no sheet. There is one set of steep stairs, but it is fairly easy to gate them off and live only on the main floor. No bathtub, but the shower has a great spray hose. The rocky beach is wonderful for kids rock-skipping contests, but small children should *NEVER* be on the rocks unaccompanied. Location is super convenient to Alpine Slide and Gondola. Our dirt road for walking and biking is wonderful too.
ADULTS: For groups of adults, please look over bedroom details and photos to make sure this place will fit your needs. For guests with limited mobility, you can be very comfortable without leaving the main floor. There is a small lip at the threshold to enter, and doorways are NOT wide enough for wheelchairs. Please note that the septic system gets cranky, please do not flush ANYTHING but TP, and we can not accommodate large groups.
PETS: NO pets allowed due to allergies.
PESTS: Please note that this cabin is over 70 years old and we get the occasional mouse, mosquitoes, and sometimes "cluster flies" in the master bedroom (they don't bite but they are yucky.) We have an excellent cleaner who will scour the place top to bottom prior to your arrival but you may still experience the occasional indoor wildlife. There may be mouse bait boxes and glue traps down in some places, but no open poison. (These pesky pests are present everywhere up here, so If other listings don't disclose them, they are probably just not being transparent!)
This property has been in the family since 1976 and we only rent to cover our expenses. Please love and enjoy our home as if it were your own!
