Clean, comfortable and close to the Quarter

Great location, clean and comfortable. A mile walk to Decatur street, less to Bourbon St. The hurricane shutters provide additional security. Outside the house can get a little loud at night, but it is a corner house in the city and by the time we were going to bed, it was dying down. Owners were spectacular to work with. Plenty of clean linens and enough room to relax and spread out. Will look to stay here again when we come back with a group!

crazy stairs!!!!!!

Great spot but those are horrible dangerous stairs!! There were no pictures of the stairs which is very deceiving. Also should be told all the shutters are closed so very dark inside

Close to French Quarter!

Check-in was great, easy to get in. Walking distance to the Quarter and great parking with automated gate. Great master bathroom shower and pretty comfortable beds. Nice kitchen/appliances and washer/dryer. Property is older but has had some modern upgrades. Overall, very happy with the stay!

Spacious place for big group

Spacious and comfortable place that fits pur group of 6. This apartment meets all of our needs. It's in a convenient location where it's close enough to walk to places yet is in a quiet neighborhood. We feel safe walking to and from the FQ and Frenchman streets. The interior is just as advertised and were fully equipped. Check in and check out processes were smooth. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Clean and spacious

The original property we booked had a broken AC unit. The host quickly found us another spot and was very accommodating.

Great location, perfect for a group.

We spent 3 nights here just after Christmas with our grown kids and their partners. It’s a neat old house with good spaces for everyone. The person we interacted with was very helpful and responsive. You can hear I-10 but it generally is just a white noise. We couldn’t figure out how to open some of the windows and therefore shutters so it felt somewhat closed in. But the back patio was great for hanging out.

Wonderful Historical Spot in Treme`

The house has a lot of history and charm. There was ample security and the street where the home is located has a long history in NOLA. The street is a main thoroughfare so there is a fair amount of traffic and noise at night. There is a popular restaurant that is diagonally across the street. You are down the street or around the corner from things like the site of "Interview with a Vampire", the grave of the unknown slave, and the Jazz clubs and art scene. It is centrally located and makes a huge difference when trying to experience the history and culture of New Orleans. The bathrooms are nice, the beds are comfortable and there is plenty of linen and basic necessities for guests. There is secure parking in the back if you rent a car but we used Rideshare and most trips were under $10 and many places are within walking distance. The price is fair for the experience and I would stay here again!

Beautiful and fun

Great 124 year old home very near the French quarter! Cute, big, spacious, clean and has everything we needed and the host was accommodating. We did choose this spot because it was technically walking distance to the French quarter, however, as women we felt unsafe walking anywhere and ended up Ubering the entire time. This is no one’s fault, just a problem of not knowing the lay of the land when precooking! The house itself is surrounded by other safe looking houses, it’s just that the attached streets can feel sketchy or different parts of the same street can feel sketchy. We loved our stay!

Convenient and perfect for our situation.

We were a family of seven traveling in New Orleans for my nieces wedding. This house was perfect for all of us. Plenty of comfy beds, bedding and towels. . Kitchen was supplied well enough for our purposes.. air conditioner works great! It was really nice to have a front and back patio to hang out on. It was a nice walk to everything.. it was especially nice to have a washer and dryer. Lots of charm to this house.. The closet space was great not a lot of hangers, but I called and they immediately took care of that and dropped a bunch off. . .

Amazing Place!

This rental was so amazing! My friends and I came down from Wisconsin to go to a concert and explore New Orleans. I’ve been many times but this was their first experience and this place was perfect for us. The location is good, about a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter and maybe 15-20 minute walk from Frenchman Street, and the walk along Esplanade Ave is great with the beautiful houses and trees. The actual house itself is great too, pictures don’t do it justice with how pretty it is inside. The tile bathrooms, tall ceilings, off street parking, and back patio are all perks. Communication with renter was easy, thru text and phone call and responses were quick. Overall, a really great rental that I highly recommend.

NOLA Trip

I loved the architecture and lay-out of the home. Super bonus points for the peace and security of the back deck and enclosed parking space. The main road in the front is quite busy, but I wasn't too bothered by it while sleeping in the first bedroom. The slow to respond communication with the property manager concerned me at first, but we did manage to speak (and get check-in details) a couple of hours before the appointed check-in time. I would recommend leaving a pamphlet with check-out instructions (e.g. where to put towels, trash, etc.). Other than that, it was a great stay overall.

Great house

This house was just as pictured. The back yard and deck area were amazing. There is a gated private parking space in the back that was wonderful to have, the bricks in the drive are a little rough, but nothing that would damage the car. It’s got a locked gate out front and the locked fence in the back. The neighborhood here is definitely walkable to everything during the day but we did bring Lyft home most nights just because the area is a little ways out and we felt like we shouldn’t walk it in the dark. A couple of notes: there is a regular coffee maker not a Keurig. Make sure you bring your own paper towels and toilet paper. There were trash bags but I’m not sure if those were supplied or left by a guest before us. There were two rolls of toilet paper supplied for each bathroom but we had 6 people staying a week. They provided plenty of clean towels and washcloths for the bathroom but nothing in the kitchen for dishes or wiping down. There were no check in or check out instructions given in the app or by email and I had to call for both. Gerard was the property manager and he was very responsive and very nice. The upstairs room is very cute and looks just as pictured. It was very hot when we were there and the upstairs was actually quite cold so the AC works great. The stairs, like any old New Orleans home, were steep. Both bathrooms are downstairs and both were very nicely done and very clean. The whole house was very clean. The house is beautiful and the rooms are very large and spacious. Esplanade is a busy street so it is a little loud at night (we are from a very rural area so most things are a little loud for us LOL). Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Charming place but...

The good: 1. GREAT location. 2. Very spacious. 3. Gerard, the host, was friendly. 4. Off street parking with automatic gate. The bad: 1. The place needs a lot of minor repairs. eg: All the doors need to be manhandled to close/open. 2. The dishwasher beeped the whole time we were there, and no way to turn it off. Gerard said he'd send someone over, but nobody ever showed up. Drove us crazy. 3. The Wi-Fi is very weak and stopped working altogether the last two days. 4. The back porch would have been a pleasant place to hang out, but it hadn't been cleaned in a while. 5. The couches and chairs in the common spaces were uncomfortable Other: 1. The neighborhood was fine for us and we had no issues. But if guests aren't used to inner city neighborhoods, they might feel uncomfortable. AGAIN: we had NO issues, and everybody we talked to was friendly... 2. Recommend looking at a map to get familiar with the one way streets around the property. The parking is to the side. To get to it required some planning... 3. The property has three keys. The keys open various locks, obviously. The doors also had sliding bolts. Getting in and out was a puzzle to determine what needed to be unlocked and which bolts slid which way. 4. The light switches were oddly placed, sometimes inside the room, sometimes outside the room... Would we stay there again? Probably, the charm and location of the place make up for the other issues.

Fab Location - Very walkable to quarter and marigny

We had a fabulous stay here on Esplanade. It was me, my husband and another couple for a wedding at Hotel Peter and Paul. My husband and I lived in New Orleans for almost 10 years before moving to Austin so we know the city well. This is a great spot to stay if you want easy access to the quarter as well as the marigny. Do yourself a favor and walk to Alma for brunch while you’re here. The property was very clean and provided basics like shampoo/conditioner/iron/hair dryer. We also felt very safe as the back and front gate both lock. The secure parking spot in the back was a huge added bonus. We did not use the upstairs room but it looks as pictured. The stairs are a bit steep so just be careful of children going up and down if you’re renting as a family. Gerald was very easy to contact (use the phone number not the VRBO message system). Highly recommend.
