This is a one bedroom get-a-away cottage that is just for you. The terrain is a gentle slope down to the water. Bring your boat with your own separate boat dock and a ramp shared by the 3 cabins. This cabin is between Big Nate and Ms Natalie. There is a water trampoline, kayaks and canoes available for use. It's a great place to come and relax. You can fish and swim off the boat dock. There is a fire pit to sit around at night. The map is off a little as well as most GPS. The cabins are just off 288 from 76. They are directly across from Macedonia Church. It is the 2nd drive to the Right after you turn on Sunnyside, 288 or Jay Chastain Rd.

The home is nice. When I booked the home and received confirmation I never got a door code and had to call for that as well as the directions do take you half mile past the house and the owner said she knew that. The cabin was 53 degrees when we arrived. No hot water in the showers! We did not stay but one night!
Great little house on lake. Loved our stay here.
Some listed items not available due to season. Other minor items listed and left on dining table for owners/managers review.
Thank you.

Safety and communication concerns
House and location were great. Have safety concerns about ladder left leaning on house, no smoke alarm, few bugs in house, limbs were left in fire pit and unable to use, yellow jackets nest in tree trunk beside stabile leading to lake. Got to property late and the code to door did not work. Luckily the code was transposed and we figures it out. Emailed management about different issue before arriving and there was no response all weekend. There was no extra toilet paper and no bath soap. Water heater temperature needs adjusting too.

Beware the owner may be staying while you have it rented!
We rented this house for two nights and arrived at 6 PM on the first night. Someone had just left there. They left the TV on. They’re nasty shoes in the middle of the floor & a clothes bag in the middle of the oyer. We could tell they’ve been wollering all over the sofa. The bathroom was chaos They had plumbing and tools all over all over the sink. Their toiletries in the shower and toilet that they’ve been using and was not cleaned It was frightening entering a home like that and scared that somebody was hiding in there cause you could tell. They just left there with all that we mentioned and I asked the owner if they could change the code so we feel safe there, but they said they could not. We had to call him and tell him to come clean the mess. She was gonna just come and pick up the items. And too, she lied she said it was her grandson who stayed there the night before and he couldn’t stay that night. I thought I guess not but then when the gentleman came to get the stuff, he said it was his stuff and told he was the husband! So, you can imagine how we felt the whole weekend that was so wrong Miserable time !
Our stay was mostly amazing as usual. Except for the other peoples kids who rented the place next door. They were rowdy and messed with our stuff. Other than that it’s an amazing house and spot to stay. We have stayed here multiple times .
My husband and I spent a long weekend at this adorable little cottage. It was close to many local sites that we like to check out while we are up here and was easy to find right off the road. Everything was very cute and comfy for us and we would totally recommend to anyone that is interested in staying here.

Not clean
Parking is a problem, one driveway for two cabins. Sits on a busy road with lots of traffic and road noise.
When we arrived, no toilet paper, in bathroom, but there was a used bar of soap, a used towel hanging, toothpaste stains on counter with used cup and hair, and trash in the trash can.
Bed sheets were dirty with hair and what looked to be bug wings and legs.
Owner sent message back apologizing but sent no one to clean.
Also, no hot water in bathroom. Owner was sent message and did not reply.
Fire pit was full of yard debris and what looked to be painted pressure treated stairs that had been thrown away. Needs some good cleaning to get cobwebs removed throughout.
Used VRBO many times, this is the first time I have to leave a bad review.

The house was nice, location was great for us. Check in was difficult, lock code was wrong on email and it took awhile to get in touch with property owners to get correct code. No toilet paper in house either
The house was the perfect size for me, hubby and the pup - and the outdoor space was the perfect for our friends and family camping nearby to come visit for the day!
Nice clean home on the lake. Drawbacks, road noise kept me awake at night, no fireplace that was described in Ad, and lack of utensils (bring your own forks!!) We enjoyed the firepit and view of the lake.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location to the lake was very nice. It is close to the road with noise but we expected that. There was a couple things that could be done like hot water wouldn’t get hot and tub was stopped up. I messaged to let them know we could deal with it so hopefully it gets fixed so people can enjoy the stay more. My dog enjoyed the porch and we will go back. It’s a beautiful view and great backyard. The bed is very firm just letting you know ahead of time. Will go back in the future.

The cabin is perfect for a couple. The cabin has some great amenities. The fire pit, the access to 2 docks along with floating trampoline, waterslide, and free use of canoes and kayaks were all awesome. Water in cove is clean and refreshing to swim in. Safe from boat traffic too. Grandkids loved coming over for evening swims.

Not a good fit for disabled or seniors
Disappointed. Neighbors were very close and had 5+ vehicles and blocked the shared drive. We expected a "cabin" with peace and quiet - not a party. Description is deceptive. Property needed maintenance and was difficult to walk to the water. Inadequate lighting with burnt out light bulbs and wobbly handrails limited our mobility and TV connection was so bad it would play for 30 seconds and then filter for at least the same amount of time or longer. It was impossible to watch and the television in the bedroom had no signal at all. We won't be returning.
We had a lovely time at the lil White House. Very convenient to have boat launch and covered slip. My grandson loved the water trampoline and slide. Thank you so much to our host!
I totally enjoyed my stay at this beautiful little house! Mrs. Shirley was so nice and very accommodating! I do very much recommend this beautiful little house on the beautiful Hiawassee lake.
The pics don’t do this place justice. It’s cozy and very well furnished. The house was very clean and spacious for two people. WiFi was very reliable and fast. We loved the bear theme throughout. Kitchen was well stocked and we prepared meals every day except Thanksgiving meal, which we ate local. We didn’t use the large fire pit outside, which was a nice set up that was stocked with wood and brush. We didn’t know much about the area but would love to come back to experience the summer, especially with a private dock to use. Couldn’t ask for a better getaway.
Great place to stay. Hiawassee is a great little town. Bell Mountain is fantastic for sunrises/sunsets, and is only a few minutes from the cabin. Lakefront property with a dock was great. Spring/summer boating & swimming would be fantastic!
Very clean and pup friendly made the experience great! Look forward to staying here again in the near future!
