In a word 'fabulous' we visited the Solvang area for the Julefest festivities and stayed at the Adobe for two nights. The actual adobe looked more impressive that the photos on the listing. There were 7 of us in the party, where my sister needed her own space and decided to stay in the additional rental on the property. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, since it was the cooler season the fireplace and room heaters came in handy. The kitchen is a kitchenette but we were able to make breakfast for 10 with no issue. There were some items (assuming) left from previous visitors like coffee and filters which were much appreciated. We were not sure what to expect staying in a working vineyard with the restaurant and wine tasting so close. Visitors were roaming the grounds and some peeked into the adobe while the front door was open, but they realized it was private and quickly left. Some folks were looking into the windows to see what was inside. Just make sure the front door was closed/locked and the shades closed. But not a big issue, it was nice seeing people and chatting with guests. We enjoyed our stay within the Vega Vineyards, we liked seeing the animals and the fun areas. We even took the wagon tour of the vineyard and fed the miniature bull, that was a ton of fun. We had a delicious family dinner at the restaurant. So nice that we can just walk back to the adobe after our meal.We enjoyed Solvang's Julefest and our stay at the Adobe made it much more special.
Exceeded our expectations, fabulous venue! Being able to pick from the garden to enhance our cooking was a nice touch. Gorgeous views.
Would have liked a larger kitchen with a stovetop and oven; but we made due with the BBQ.
Highly recommend this property. Very close to Ballard Canyin and Solvang. But you really never to leave the property
Loved the property! Kids loved the animal, restaurant staff was great- wine was delicious and surrounded by complete beauty!
Bonus- close to town, but feel like you are a million miles away- absolutely loved it! Will be talking about this one for a long time!
We have stayed in amazing properties all over the world and this one is the most special. The picture don’t do it justice! It is a beating appointed, refurbished adobe mission with gorgeous bathrooms, wonderful beds and huge old original pieces of furniture perched in a stunning vineyard. It was cool and shaded during our summer stay and I can’t wait to come back in the winter with all the fireplaces. The food and wine scene in the area are remarkable (and we live near Sonoma, so it takes a lot to wow us). We will definitely be returning.
CA Historical Adobe shares a space in a working vineyard and farm
This property is really unique. Enough space for multiple family's get away. Great place to barbecue and enjoy breath taking views. Kitchenette has a wide variety of appliances. Bathrooms are beautifully appointed.
Our 9 person group enjoyed our stay at the adobe house. The property is spectacular and we loved exploring the vineyard and farm. One highlight of the trip was the delicious lunch and wine tasting just steps away from our house. Our kids visited the animals at the farm daily and there's an easy hike to take in the views from the chapel at the top of the hill.
The drive to Solvang is less than 10 minutes, with easy access to the 101 and various food and grocery options.
The hosts were responsive to all of our needs. This was a wonderful experience and we'll definitely be back. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for more than just accommodations.
