We discovered the property when our children were young and recognized that it was the perfect beach and setting for kids. We provide 3 full-size cribs and child gates on all interior stairways.
Large windows offer unobstructed views of the bay. Experience not only stunning sunrises over Grand Traverse Bay but also shimmering reflected sunsets from Lake Michigan. The Great Room, Lower-Level Living Room and Screened Porch provide indoor areas for food and conversation. New gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances appointed with small appliances, pots, pans, plates, glasses and cutlery for preparing and serving large feasts. Two tables seat 16-20 total and counter seating for 4. Enjoy the spectacular views from the deck and covered patio. Cook for your crew on your choice of two large grills, one charcoal and one gas.
The Master Bedroom Suite with king sized bed includes a private bath with whirlpool tub. The private Family Suite has 2 bedrooms and a bath. There are nine bedrooms total and four tile baths. Roby’s Retreat is tucked into a private wooded setting. Out the back doors, it is a short walk across the lawn to the sandy beach and the water. Two stately maple trees provide some shade over the sandy beach. The water is crystal clear and warmer than Lake Michigan. It very gradually deepens, making it wonderful for floats, tubes and snorkeling Search for Petoskey stones along the textured bay bottom where the gentle waves have polished the coveted smooth stones. The bottom is rocky and sandy, changing each year as the waves bring more or less sand over the winter. We recommend water shoes in case the winter has brought less sand. Enjoy the kayaks for adults and for children. Contemplate the universe at a bonfire by the beach. Incredible views of the Milky Way, shooting stars and, if you are lucky, the Northern Lights are also included at no extra charge. Dock or launch your boat at the small marina conveniently located next door.
