Great Character

Great historic house to stay in! Has great character. Loved staying here with family and friends. Great back yard with fire pit. Be prepared to be flexible it is an older home with quirks. We loved it! Close to everything we needed and wanted to see.

Perfect for a Business Team Meeting

Living room was set up well, with plenty of space for our 11 member team to gather around the large TV for presentations. The bar even served well as a podium. Kitchen and grill on the porch flowed nicely for meal prep; dining area was perfect for meals and late night games. Beds and bathrooms were clean and stocked adequately. The house overall was beautiful, unique, and spacious.

Safe neighborhood

Good, could be great with a few improvements. For a home this size, it was lacking in bath towels, kitchen towels, cooking pans, refrigerator space, chairs (in kitchen area). A couple bedrooms are odd to access (have to go thru another room to get in). Parking is a challenge for visitors. Overall a good experience.

Unique old world experience perfect for a large group

Overall the property was very unique drew comments about the style all weekend from our group. It was a great size and very comfortable / accommodating for the 8 of us. Having owned an 80 year old home I understand the things that come with that in terms of age, style, functionality, etc. That said, there were certain non working items that were annoying but not a big issue for a house of easy going guys. A different group might think very much otherwise though. The biggest issue I had was the lack of response to our issues. Friday morning I received a txt asking how things were. I responded with a list of items that were not working or problematic for the stay - basement shower not working - kitchen garbage disposal not turning on - roof / ceiling leaks due to rain When there was no response, I called the hotline and actually spoke with someone about the same issues who told me they would report and get back with. I never heard anything back and even after follow ups. We went the rest of the trip with those issues which was frustrating. All that said, we had a good experience and would stay here again under similar group circumstances.

Castle 🏰

We LOVED the house and we had plenty of room, but… the floors made our feet black, bathrooms were pretty disgusting, linens were dirty and had some suspicious blood like stains, no hot water, and very few towels. Other than all of those things, it was a great layout for a big group and cool! but very dirty. When we asked for closing instructions, they didn’t tell us to strip beds, so not surprised the linens were dirty!

Not worth the money

Bathrooms were dirty not enough towels and linen. Empty Beer bottles left in room. Broken wine glass in living area. Garbage overflowing upon check in. Leaks from roof leaked down wall to outlet where lamp was plugged in. Lower half of unit with 2 bedroom very musty. Mouse droppings in cooking utensils. Would not stay there again very disappointed considering price.

work trip

This place is HUGE. MASSIVE. Great for a larger group. The place is reasonably clean. There are numerous bedrooms--but the layout is a little strange--at least for four grown colleagues staying there for a work week. There's not more than a couple of towels a person, so you do have to do the wash if y ou want to stay the week. Staying that long, you'll need to bring your own TP, and paper towels as well. The only real problem was that the kitchen smelled like a dead fish ate a dead rat and threw up on a possum on getting there--that, and the trash was overflowing from the people who had just left. The hot water is a finicky but workable. Some of the bedrooms have no closet and no place to put anything; one colleague was hanging his clothing on the rails of the poster bed. All in all, it's a pretty cool place and it might be an option again.
