We were in Danvers for a fitness training and the rooms and the house was beautiful and super well mantained. We needed a place to rest and chill after getting back from our workouts and training and the property was exactly ehat we needed. The bathrooms had more than we expected, we felt like in a high class hotel. The beds were all very comfy. Kitchen fully equipped. Communication with Kuan was excellent. We will definitely stay there if we come back to Boston.
We found this rental very last minute and consider ourselves lucky to have stayed here. It was the perfect proximity to the places we wanted to see including the commuter rail into Boston. The house is so beautiful and our hosts thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. We sat outside on the patio in the evenings slept comfortably at night. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We can’t wait to make this our landing spot for our next trip to the Northeast.
This was a great spot for our group of 5 adults and 2 kids. We visited cousins in the area and were able to celebrate the holidays in the house with our family. There are lots of places to take small children in the area: the public library had a huge children’s area. We went to the Wenham Museum, Cowabunga and the Peabody North Shore Children’s museum. The weather and timing prevented us from going to the nearby parks that looked fun. There was lots of snow and the kids had fun playing in the big backyard and the mudroom was convenient. The kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked. We appreciated the wine and snacks our host provided.
This was among the best homes we've stayed at. The owner was thoughtful, responsive and thought of the things we might need or want during our stay. I hope and pray we can stay again! Simply loved the house and property!
From before booking to the moment we left, Kuan was an excellent host. His home was beautiful and we loved every moment staying there. We are a group of women in our mid-30’s and can appreciate how well a house is laid out. The decor, the supplies, the layout of the home were all phenomenal. The house had everything we need, was a great location, and we hope we can return one day!
We chose the property we stayed at because it was located near the areas we wanted to explore. The house was large, comfortable, beautifully decorated, with a lovely outdoor patio that we were able to enjoy. The kitchen was especially user friendly with everything that we needed to prepare meals. The formal dining room was lovely!
The host is very gracious and was readily available to communicate with us.
I recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the Boston area.
We had an excellent stay here! The house was spacious and perfect for our stay in Salem. All amenities were taken care of and everything was so clean. The location is near some cool historical sites and the backyard is very spacious. Lovely home and even lovelier host 🤗
P.s the tire swing was a huge hit!!
We had a fantastic time! The property is beautiful and the host makes sure you have everything you need, and more! Close to everything! Clean, beautiful, would definitely stay again! Thank you for having us!!!
We were in the area for my daughter’s wedding. This was a great place to stay for the family. Lots of hidden gems in the house. Just looking at the decor was an experience. The kitchen was fully stocked with great kitchen gadgets.
My family and I spent three nights at Kuan's home, and it was lovely! Kuan prepared the property early for us, provided clear and timely instructions for check-in and check-out, and provided a basket of snacks and a complimentary bottle of wine. The indoor/outdoor spaces were great for hosting up to 7 adults! We were also just minutes from Salem. Highly recommend this VRBO rental to anyone who is looking to stay north of Boston.
What a wonderful property, an oasis in Danvers. Kuan is such a pleasure to communicate with.
The house and property are so relaxing with great furnishings. The yard is beautiful and with numerous seating areas, the flowers and shade trees were beautiful
I rent numerous times a year and this is one of the best experiences I've ever had.
Thank you Kuan for your hospitality and generosity.
Beautiful, comfortable home with a relaxing patio and deep yard perfect for kids!!! This property is spectacular! You need it, Kuan has it there for you! We kept referring to the property as “home”!! So many fun times at the property that we will always remember. Will definitely stay there again!!
This property had everything we could possibly need and want! Very clean in a good safe quiet neighborhood. We loved being so close to the historical site a very short walk down the block. The owner was fantastic with great and swift communication. I would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends and family!
Such a special home. Specious and full of character. We had a wonderful time and we hope to come again soon.
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. Greatly appreciated!
The trip consised of exploring the the East coast. Myself ,my daughter, daughter n law, 2 nieces and 3 sisters stayed in this lovely home. It was absolutely amazing
We were in town with family as our son was running the Boston marathon. It was a great place for us to cook, hang out, quiet and comfy nights sleep and fun for our 3 year old grandson to watch the fish, play on the swing set and explore the property. Kuan was very attentive and thought of all the extras to make our stay easy and comfortable! Thanks!
We could not be more pleased with our stay. The house was larger than we expected and there was plenty of areas to spread out . Our son, his wife and new baby took the upstairs rooms and we stayed down stairs . The beds were perfect.Cozy and warm with fluffy blankets and spreads. The temperature of the house was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked. There was a closet full of the latest electrical appliances -Blender, rice cooker ,crock pot etc. the home was Wonderful and clean with a great dishwasher . There were several sets of plates, bowls , silverware, pots, pans etc.A fully stocked coffee maker . We cooked and also ordered in. The formal dining room could seat 8-10. We ate there several times. We enjoyed the living room at night watching Netflix together and also having my 92 year old mother (who lives 1 mile away )and my sister over to visit with us and most importantly the baby ( mom is great grandmother and was thrilled) The yard is large and neat. Every thing was spotless and beautiful with a lot of interesting art and wood carved furniture. OH THE PIANO!! That was a perk that i played for hours. We were comfortable and had all we needed for the best visit to Danvers. The host was kind and accessible . He was obviously an experienced Super Host because there was nothing we needed to ask for or about. He had a book in kitchen explaining everything and listing things to do and places to eat. We recommend this VRBO. We will stay here the next time we visit Danvers.
The house is warm, very clean, spacious with accommodating 8 people comfortably, welcoming and just as the pictures depicted. The owner is very attentive and communication was very easy. We got a welcome card and bottle of wine on arrival and everything in the house was ready for our convenience. We even use the manual's suggestions for local breakfast place and pizza place and we were very satisfied, especially with Nick and Andy's breakfast . My family from Europe stated "the best waffles we ever ate". House is 20 min drive from Boston, and even closer to Salem, we would definitely return.
We got in late driving from Pittsburgh, getting in was easy and the property owner was easy to reach and very kind and supportive. The yard and patio were beautiful I wish it was summer! the inside of the house was amazing vey bedroom was gorgeous and such fun and interesting decorations!! We were tempted to do goldilocks and try them all! The kitchen is beyond well appointed and the appliances and kitchen overall was spotless! the downstairs bathroom amenities made it feel like a spa trip! We do intent to go back!
Super lovely home, very well maintained. Check in and out was super easy. The host is very responsive and left a lovely note, flowers, wine and snacks for us to have when we got there. Easy access to the highway and neighboring towns. Backyard is huge and the fenced in patio is lovely. Definitely would stay here again if in the area!

About the host
Hosted by Kuan Chen
Hi, there! My name is Kuan. We are a small family with two boys. We are originally from Taiwan and settled in Danvers about 10 years ago. This was our first house; our kids and dogs have grown up in this house, so we didn’t want to just sell it. There are so many great memories attached to this home. Therefore, we decided to keep the house and turn it into a short-term rental so others can enjoy it as much as we did!!
What makes this property unique
We would like to introduce a little bit of the house history to you. This is a historic house built in 1848. Over the years, it was turned into a two-family house. We originally moved into the unit on the second floor. We were lucky enough to purchase the whole house several years ago. At that time, we renovated the whole first floor and some parts of the upstairs and turned it into a single-family house which we lived in until July of 2022 when we purchased a home in the next town. That is why there are two kitchens in this house. However, the upstairs kitchen is not being utilized at this time.
