French Manor House in Fontainebleau Forest

This gorgeous manor house dates to the late 18th century. Nestled in the northern part of Fontainebleau forest, it is 45 mins from Paris, making day-trips a pleasure. Nearby are many historic sites, outdoor activities and fabulous restaurants (see below). The house and the neighborhood are extremely quiet and peaceful. The house has an aura all its own. Discounts are on a sliding scale according to length of stay.
The space
The house is on a a private, walled estate with centennial trees. On the ground floor, there is a huge kitchen-dining room, a living room, a music room and a office. On the 2nd floor there are three bedrooms and a screening room and on the 3rd floor there are two additional bedrooms. The tower (see photos) is an ideal spot for Yoga, meditation or an evening drink at sunset. There is a gorgeous village with all amenities, (butcher, baker, 3 restaurants) within a ten minute walk. The property is surrounded by fabulous hiking and biking trails.
Guest access
All spaces described above and in the photos are accessible to guests. A few additional rooms will owner's private belongings will be locked.
Other things to note
The walls are three feet thick. Summers in northern France tend to be dry and cool in the evening. Air conditioning is not necessary, but can be made available upon special request for an additional charge. There is no elevator.

My wife and I bought this place ten years ago and have been fixing it up ever since. We live in Paris, but come most weekends and school holidays with our children. We love it and would love to share this very special place with you.

This historic manor house is unique. Romantic and relaxing, you will feel as if you are stepping back in time into another century. Staying here is truly an exceptional experience. My wife and I feel blessed have stewardship of this house and have invested tremendous time and energy into renovating it.
