Quiet, convenient, and clean.

A sweet craftsman in a great location in Alameda. Loved everything about it except the bedroom pillows and stale snacks. Would definitely recommend.

Great home conveniently nestled on the Bay

Owner was very responsive and helpful. The house was in a nice quiet, charming neighborhood. The purpose of our trip was to visit the baseball parks. Both were very easy to get to by Ferry or Uber.

About the host

Hosted by Christine Hu

Host profile image
Hello, and welcome! My name is Christine, and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to host you at The Wisteria House. I’m originally from Taiwan, but I’ve been lucky enough to call San Francisco home for many years, with a little slice of paradise on Oahu.

I absolutely love traveling, eating delicious food, and exploring new places with my main squeeze, Eddie. When I’m not hosting, you’ll probably find us swimming in Montana’s pristine lakes or playing fetch with our dog in the rivers, or enjoying a good laugh together, Eddie sure knows how to make me LOL! I also work in property management, and it’s been such a rewarding experience helping guests from all over the world feel comfortable and welcome in my spaces.

Being a host is truly special to me because it gives me the chance to create a home where people can relax, recharge, and make lasting memories with their loved ones. My goal is to provide a cozy and inviting space where you’ll feel just like you’re at home. I’m always happy to share tips on the best places to eat, explore, or relax in the area—whether it's finding the perfect spot for breakfast or the best park for a peaceful walk.

I’m thrilled to welcome you to The Wisteria House and hope you have a wonderful stay!

Why they chose this property

I absolutely love the Fernside neighborhood for its charm, peaceful atmosphere, and close-knit community. This neighborhood is a hidden gem in Alameda, offering a perfect blend of quiet residential streets and easy access to everything the island has to offer.

What I enjoy most is how walkable and serene it feels—whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll through tree-lined streets or spending time in the nearby parks, the whole area has a calm, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place where neighbors wave as they walk by, and the sounds of birds and children playing in the distance make it feel like home.

I also love the convenience of being so close to local shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as the proximity to the beach and recreational areas. You can easily enjoy a morning walk along the shoreline, have a delicious meal at one of Alameda’s fantastic eateries, or enjoy a game of pickleball at the nearby courts. Plus, the safe and quiet environment makes it perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to relax and unwind.

In short, the Fernside neighborhood offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat while still being close to all the exciting things to do in Alameda. I’m so glad I found this special place to call home and share with you!

What makes this property unique

What truly sets The Wisteria House apart is its perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. This 1910 Craftsman home is filled with timeless character—original woodwork, exquisite built-ins, and a welcoming front porch where you can relax and soak in the neighborhood’s peaceful vibe. Yet, it’s also equipped with everything you need for a modern, comfortable stay, from a high-end kitchen for cooking up your favorite meals to memory foam mattresses that promise a restful night’s sleep.

I also think the location is one of the property’s standout features. Situated in the Fernside neighborhood, you’ll experience the quiet serenity of a family-friendly, safe, and walkable area, while still being just a short stroll from local parks, restaurants, beaches, and the famous pickleball courts. Whether you’re here for a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a relaxing retreat, The Wisteria House offers the best of both worlds: a cozy, charming home that’s close to everything you’ll want to experience in Alameda.

Finally, I love the personal touches that make this home feel truly special. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable, welcomed, and at home, so you can relax and enjoy your time in Alameda to the fullest.
