Perfect getaway
This little house was the perfect place for our getaway to explore historic Frederick. In addition to being comfortable, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, it contained a full kitchen stocked with nice-quality cookware, dishware, and barware, plus all the tools you would need to make any kind of cocktails. In addition, the hosts generously supplied a large variety of coffee pods and tea bags. We especially appreciated the electric kettle, and Brita-filtered water in the fridge was a thoughtful touch. In the bathroom, they provided not only shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, and moisturizer, but also a travel-sized tube of toothpaste (which came in handy), spare toothbrushes, and mouthwash. There were plenty of thick, white towels and 2 bathrobes. We chose the bedroom overlooking the garden, which was quiet and restful. The weather was chilly so we didn't spend much time on the patio, although the Adirondack chairs and babbling fountain made it very tempting. The location--close to the MARC stop and easy walking distance to everything there is to do and see in Frederick--was ideal because we arrived by train. If stairs are an issue for you, be aware that the only bathroom (and all the bedrooms) are upstairs, and the staircase is a little steep. There's a solid handrail and non-slip treads, so it wasn't a big problem for us. Just something we've noticed as we get older.
