Quiet neighborhood, convenient location and great view

Starting from the booking process to the checkout, everything went smoothly. The accurate description of the apartment, the prompt and clear responses from Rayne, the warm and welcoming reception by Carolina, the amenities found at her comfortable studio made my stay a wonderful relaxing time. On one hand, the apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood but, on the other hand, it is a few blocks away from all the convenience you need (supermarket, restaurants, pet shops, cafe, bars, etc). Another convenience is to have SF public transit system nearby (Muni buses half a block, or at Lombard St, or Richardson at Francisco). Apartment is well appointed in a recently renovated building with some great views of the Golden Gate bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts. Rayne is a very thoughtful person who lets you comfortable as if you were visiting a friend. I would definitely recommend her studio. Thank you, Rayne!

Great Place in the heart of the Marina district

This is a well appointed apartment in a clean, well maintained building in a very safe and walkable area of San Francisco. Rayne provides everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a bus stop on the corner and you can get anywhere in the city quite easily. San Francisco public transit is very good, no need for a car. Lots of places to eat and drink on Chestnut and Lombard Streets, just a few blocks away. The outdoor patio area has beautiful views and is perfect when the sun shines on a warm day. I would both recommend to others and return myself.

Lovely, Comfortable Studio with a great host!

I recently spent a week at Rayne's lovely studio. I have rented from VRBO and Airbnb several times - this was for sure one of the best experiences. From the initial questions that I had to the booking process and all thru the stay, Rayne was quick in her replies and very professional and helpful. Carolina, the person that manages the apartment, met me upon arrival and gave me a tour of the features, answered questions, etc. There was a lovely welcome basket with various snacks and even included some pears from Carolina's pear tree! The Studio is located on a lovely street in the Marina District - really nice block with gorgeous houses and landscaping. Half a block away, at the end of the street, is the Palace of Fine Arts which has beautiful grounds to explore. Two blocks away is the Bay, the Marina, and the beaches. The neighborhood is a quiet, residential area that felt very safe to me - I walked a lot both during the day and after dark and always felt safe. 10 minutes away is Chestnut Street which has lots of great restaurants and shopping - try Lucca Deli for authentic italian deli sandwiches and prepared foods. A bit further away, up the hill, are the Cow Hollow and Pacific Heights neighborhoods with more fun shopping and lovely homes. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for anyone that might want to cook. The bed, which is actually a Murphy Bed that pulls down from the wall, was very comfortable. The apartment is on the roof of the building and has 3 large windows - one on each side - that provide panoramic views of the Palace of Fine Arts (which lights up at night), the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay, and the San Francisco Skyline. Alcatraz is view-able as well. It was very quiet, both during the day and in the evening. Note that there are 4 flights of stairs to be climbed to reach the studio which Rayne notes in the listing - this worked out fine for me(I got my workout for sure! Lol);however, just something to be aware of. Great stay. Thank you Rayne!

A Perfect Week

What a delightful studio apartment: beautifully furnished, roomy, with views to write home about! The Golden Gate Bridge from one window, the Institute of the Arts from another (take some time to wander here and in the Presidio). We walked everywhere, or took the local bus, dined locally and discovered the entire Marina district. A delight. And yes, there are four flights to the penthouse, but the journey is worth the view, and you'll come home healthier for the exertion!!

PERFECT PLACE !!

We enjoyed eight wonderful days in San Francisco. This Marina apartment is a little piece of heaven with fantastic views. It was an excellent and convenient base from which to explore the city and Marin County, and provided common living space that a hotel can't offer. There is nothing about the apartment not to love - the location, the view, the furnishings, the extra personal touches by Rayne our wonderful landlady. Thank you so much, Rayne. We look forward to spending another vacation with you again next year. We’ll be back for sure!

Totally Amazingl!

We've just returned from a fabulous trip to San Francisco. Aside from San Francisco being such a magical place to visit, we couldn't have stayed at a better spot. Rayne's apartment is in the perfect location and has the most breath taking views. It literally took my breath away when I walked in the first time. I was also pleased with how open and light and bright the apartment is. There are 3 big windows on 3 sides of the apartment which make you feel you are perched on top of the world. Rayne has thought of every detail and the apartment is a reflection of this. The cupboards and fridge are stocked with essentials and the furniture and storage arrangements are very efficient. Everything was spotless too! You are within walking distance of very great restaurants, bars, shops, the beach, and the Golden Gate bridge!! We purchased a 7 day visitor travel pass and found it so easy to get around the city. So much to see and do!! It is also so quiet here, was really ideal. The roof top deck is also a wonderful addition!! Rayne's qualities as a host are impeccable and the best I have ever encountered. It was a TRUE pleasure dealing with her. I so appreciated all she had done during the reservation process as well. All my questions were always quickly answered and she always went above and beyond providing valuable information. I was sad to leave and hope to return one day! I would definitely stay here again!! Thanks for everything!!

Beyond Fabulous !!

We’ve been back home for several weeks now, but can’t seem to stop reminiscing over this beautiful apartment. San Francisco is a city we want to keep coming back to, and Rayne’s penthouse apartment is definitely where we’ll stay. Located in a beautiful neighbourhood, it’s extremely quiet, yet only a few blocks away from Chestnut Street, full of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, etc. There are several grocery stores and delis all within walking distance, and the bus stop is a mere half block away if you want to go further afield. The apartment itself was easy to find, and there was someone on hand to greet us, and walk us through all the features. To echo what others have said, pack lightly and take advantage of the washer & dryer. Besides, 4 sets of stairs is not something you want to tackle with a jumbo sized suitcase. But trust us, the climb is worth it, as the views are absolutely stunning! Many mornings it was hard to tear ourselves away, and it was especially beautiful to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening and watch the city skyline light up. The deck across from the apartment is shared with the rest of the building, but we had it all to ourselves the few times we sat out on it. The apartment was immaculate – absolutely spotless! While it is a studio, we never felt cramped in any way. I was a little worried about how I’d feel after sleeping on a Murphy bed for a week, but it was very comfortable, and we slept really well. The apartment is fully stocked, and had everything we needed. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Rayne. In fact, from our initial booking, to our departure, the communication was fast and clear. You can tell that she takes great pride and care in ensuring her guests have everything they need. Five stars all the way !! Thanks again Rayne for everything.

Fabulous place to stay!

The Marina Penthouse, though not large at just over 600 square feet, was more than enough for two people. It is a very well built, well insulated structure, with new and nice amenities. Upon our arrival the unit was very clean and well organized. During our stay, the weather in San Francisco was rainy, windy and cold; however the unit was cozy, comfortable and warm. It was wonderful having a good quality washer and dryer in the unit as this allowed us to pack lightly. The location is great with views of The Palace of Fine Arts, The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and downtown. The neighborhood was extremely quiet, both day and night. We slept late every day as nothing awoke us. The bus a half block away was very convenient and the Marina has restaurants, coffee shops, a Walgreens, grocery stores and all other necessities nearby. Rayne was always very responsive and helpful whenever contacted

Falling in Love....Again!

Words just can't describe how much we love staying at Rayne's Penthouse Hideaway! Every year we come back to the City and neighborhood where we fell in love, and do it all over again. The views, access to all the best of San Francisco and the Bay Area, care with details, focus on comfort, and feeling of being home are priceless. Every time we arrive and walk into this magical place, we don't know whether to laugh or cry. It really is paradise, and Rayne is an angel to share it with us.

Living the Dream

Living the dream!! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! Don't think I would ever tire of ending a hard days sightseeing, eating and drinking by chilling with a cold beer on the outside rooftop decking whilst looking across to Alcatraz on one side, The Palace of Fine Arts on another, Golden Gate on a third and a glorious downtown San Francisco to cap it off. Great well equipped studio in a real safe and quiet neighbourhood but only 5 mins walk from the 'buzzing' Chestnut Street with loads of great places to eat and drink (and if there's a finer Chinese than Dragon Well anywhere on this planet!!!). Dead handy too for local buses into the city or Fisherman's Wharf (No. 30) from the block just outside the studio....about 20/25 mins to Union Square so ideal base for sightseeing if you don't like staying downtown. Really friendly neighbourhood too and also met a couple of the locals from the same building all of whom made us feel so welcome and offered some great tips too. What also made this an absolute breeze was the ease of communication, assistance and advice from Rayne the owner. Made it all a fantastic holiday which we have already shared with our friends and family back home in the UK. We will back!!

Unique apartment in the quiet Marina district

We chose this rental for our return to San Fran 25 after our honeymoon - and the location and apartment could not have been better. Amenities in the apartment are excellent, and connections into the city via the 30 bus or Uber was excellent. Views are amazing - Alcatraz lighthouse and the building, Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts are all visible from anywhere in the apartment. We enjoyed the fog horns too on several nights. Perfect for a getaway -

Great first trip to SF!

What can we say?! This was an awesome place to stay in SF! First of all, Rayne, was great to work with. She answered emails promptly and gave great advice. She was out of the country during our stay so Carolina met us and did a great job showing us around the apartment and getting us settled. The VIEW...wonderful from every window! The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Palace of Fine Arts, downtown skyline...you can see it all! The apartment was up to date, clean and well stocked for our stay and in a clean, safe area. Because of the washer and dryer, we were able to pack light. Don't let the four flights of stairs scare you. They are not bad and it gets you ready for the hills of SF. We had a mix of weather. Cool and windy upon arrival but a heat wave hit the last few days we were there and we were actually able to enjoy the roof top deck with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. We bought a 7-day Muni Pass when we arrived at the airport and used it every day! The bus stop is right at the corner and the No. 30 bus gets you where you need to go. Use the 511.org website to navigate your way around town. Chestnut Street is just a few blocks away (bus 30 gets you there if you don't' want to walk) and has a lot of great restaurants and a nice little market. There is also a Safeway grocery near Fort Mason. We walked there and took the bus back. We loved this little gem and would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay here again!

Wow! That´s amazing place in SF

Wow! That´s amazing place in SF ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were first time in San Francisco, but in this apartment we felt as at home. The location is really great - you can stay in Fisherman´s Wharf and relax, you can go to the beach or to the downtown - the place is very well connected to everywhere. We loved the cosy and comfortable interior furnishings and the roof tarrace. There is everything you wish to have. Unforgettable is the view from the apartment - in every directions. The skyline, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate - the penthouse studio has everything you wish having there. Rayne was very helpfull in any questions we had and she recommended us few places, we should see. Thank you a lot Rayne! - you are the best host, we could imagine! We will definitely recommend this apartment and would be happe to return.

Wow!

This was our 5th visit to this wonderful apartment and I am beginning to run out of superlatives to describe how we feel about it and its stunning location. Everything is perfect from the great location right next to the Palace of Fine Arts, the beach, Chestnut Street (and all its shops, restaurants, grocery stores etc) and a bus stop to catch the #30 to Fisherman's Wharf or downtown right on the corner to the unbelievable views of virtually every San Francisco iconic sight. The amazingly friendly and welcoming owner, Rayne, ensures that everything about your stay is perfect. The apartment is so comfortable and contains everything you could possibly need from a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, TV, cable & music centre. One of the biggest 'Wows' is the rooftop deck which is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink with stupendous views. We love everything about this place...and we'll keep returning!

This was just perfect

The apartment is on the 4th and last floor, which means there is a bit of a climb to get there. But you'll be widely rewarded by the wonderful views of San Francisco. You'll see the GG bridge, Alcatraz, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio, Pacific Heights, and even the tip of the Downtown skyscrapers. The large penthouse studio is tastefully decorated, with everything you might wish to have, and more. Rayne and Carolina did a great job organizing my stay, from the meeting at the apartment to the prompt answers to any request I had. I will definitely return if available for my next trip.

Pleasant Stay

We enjoyed our week in Rayne's penthouse studio. She has thought of everything to ensure her guests are comfortable. The space seems bigger than the square footage because of how well she had organised the furnishing and there was plenty of storage. Everything from booking to gaining entry went efficiently. She was most helpful and prompt in answering our questions. The neighbourhood is very safe and quiet. It offers a good variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. Public transport was just around the corner so there was no need for a car although we managed to walk to quite a few sights. We especially enjoyed our late day walks around the beautiful grounds of the Palace of Fine Arts and our morning walks to Chrissy Field. The apartment is indeed very well located. We didn't find the four flights walk-up difficult to manage. We certainly recommend Rayne's place to future visitors.

Sky-High Views

I spent 5 weeks in SF and stayed in 3 different places, and this one was by far my favorite one! Beautiful neighborhood, extremely conformable and clean flat and.. the view! Oh my God THE VIEW! On Sunday I invited a few local friends for a brunch on the deck: they're all from SF and they all own amazing flat/houses. But they were all so impressed by the view that I realized how unique that was. Not to mention the owner kindness and efficiency. 5 stars and thumb up!

Amazing Condo Rental

For anyone looking for a nice cozy place to stay in San Francisco, this penthouse in the Marina is the place to stay. Firstly the views are amazing. You have a straight shot of the Golden Gate Bridge out of the front window. It is also a half block from the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts. The kitchen comes fully stocked and it is very easy to prepare meals just as if you were at your own home. The location is unbeatable. The Chrissy Field/Presidio/Marina Green area is a great place for a jog or walk along the bay and Chestnut Street has great restaurants and bars for nightlife. The Golden Gate Bridge is so close than you can be in Marin in about 5 minutes if you want to check out Sausalito or Muir Woods. To sum everything up, the penthouse was extremely clean when we arrived and very spacious. We were able to prepare great meals in the kitchen, but also dined out on Chestnut street a number of times and had plentiful options out there. The location is also great for anyone who exercises as you can get a great morning run in along Chrissy Field. The views are unmatchable and the location is great for anyone looking to make day trips into Marina County. I would highly recommend this penthouse for all ages! The neighborhood has so much to offer and you are conveniently located for day trips.

Everything we wanted: Views, Location, Cleanliness and Well-equipped Apartment

After looking at many options in SF, we decided on this apartment for a 25th anniversary celebration in January due to the location and views. We were not disappointed in any way. We were impressed that this relatively small apartment had all the things we needed to relax while enjoying a week walking all over SF. The kitchen had everything to cook breakfasts and an occasional dinner, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the "living room" furniture was also a comfortable place to read or watch TV (the screen is small and is probably the only thing we could find any fault with). The posted photos give an accurate representation of the apartment. We enjoyed the location for many reasons: close to the water, out of the touristy section of city, and still very close to great restaurants, coffee shops and shopping (Delarosa Italian Restaurant is a must and the Coffee Roastery is a great place for breakfast; both are on Chestnut Street). The owner made the whole experience very smooth and arranged for an agent to be on the property to thoroughly explain everything when we got there. The owner also checked in a day or so after our arrival to ensure everything was ok. We have stayed at many HomeAway/VRBO properties and this one is a stand-out.

New Year's

The apartment was wonderful; nice and clean, too! We were there for fireworks on New Year's Eve and could see enough to enjoy. It was great to see the ones come up over the skyline. Also, parking was so simple. If we couldn't find parking right near the apartment, there were always spaces around the Palace of Fine Arts. In addition, the location is great because the apartment is within walking distance to Chestnut Street, Union Street/Cow Hollow, the Presidio (especially the Officer's Club), and the Bay.
