5 min from Covington, 40 minutes from New Orleans, 15 minutes from tubing excursions, zoo's & 30 from swamp tours and much more. As you pass over our bridge and meander down the winding drive you let your cares go. The property is healing grounds for most. The vivid forest surrounds you and your relaxation begins as you look into gardens of gardenias, azaleas, camellias, large magnolia trees and fruit trees. Walk two minutes to our private beach. Grilling is a favorite activity while your nestled in the trees watching the sunset. Coffee time is magnificent on the front porch while listening to the birds and watching the squirrels scurry thru the trees. Whether you're here to hike, read a book or family time you will enjoy all the amenities. The kitchen has a drawer full of many favorite herbs. The 2 burner stove with prep sink and range make it easy for 2 to prepare meals. Spacious bathrooms and comfy beds make for a nice stay and restful sleep. Excellent woodsy spot for a midwinter respite!

My friends and I spent a wonderful weekend taking walks in the woods, playing music by the fire pit, looking at the stars, and getting cozy next the indoor fireplace and Christmas tree. We were able to prepare delicious meals in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Thank you for the sharing your lovely home!

Covington Visit

Overall, this property is exactly what we expected. It is off the beaten path and in dense woods. This makes for a very cozy scenic stay. It was clean and very quite. And was well stocked with everything we needed. While it does feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, you really aren't. We were able to get to and fro quite easily. Downtown Covington and it's surrounding areas are delightful! We truely had a spectacular time! The only tweak I would make is to freshen the numbers on the mailbox and make sure you check in before dark. We missed the turn for their house and ended up down their neighbors drive way, whose giant dog was eager to let us know we were in the wrong spot. Scary at the time, but a fun story to tell now. We are hoping to stay here again when we come back in October.Thanks to the host for a great stay!!

Perfect Family Getaway!

Property was clean and relaxing! Pictures matched description and was large enough for all of our guests; 8 adults and 3 children. Communication with the host was quick and efficient. Located on a secluded piece of property and easy to get to.

In town for a wedding

The cabin is located near the back of the property. You can’t see it from road. It’s a gem of cabin. Might feel a little sketchy (per my daughter) driving down driveway, but I assure it is NOT! Cabin was clean and spacious. I definitely see staying a weekend here to enjoy the creek area. The sand was a bit aggravating as we were attending formal events, but nothing a little wet cloth didn’t fix. Great stay!

Wedding weekend

We stayed for our daughter’s wedding weekend. Very chill and relaxing. Enjoyed the open spaces. Loved the fire place. And the kids loved the rope swing and the swimming hole.

Weekend getaway

We had a nice time . It was perfect with the kids lots to walk around and explore. Very secluded, which we loved . The house was awesome! Pictures didn’t do it justice. Bed were really comfortable also !

Hidden gem

This property was everything we imagined it to be.. and then some! You had privacy. You had the best mattresses ever. The AC was phenomenal even though it was like 100 degrees outside. The kids had a blast at the ponds and the creek. We had zero complaints. We’re already hoping for another trip!

Overall the house was pretty nice. I do feel new mattresses are necessary. Both beds sunk in the middle. Also rails are needed for top bunks. My grandchildren all slept on bottom for fear of falling out. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Secluded very nice

Everything was clean. Very beautiful home. There was 11 of us and we all fit perfectly. The only thing was the listing stated there was 4 bedrooms but there are only 3 bedrooms, 2 baths with a restroom downstairs. 2 of the rooms have queen size beds, the other room has two twin bunk beds. So a total of 4 twin size beds. Then the sectional in the living room pulls out into a bed, with someone being able to sleep on the other side of sectional. The bed sizes and total of beds are listed. Just have to read more carefully. Loved how it was secluded and away from everything. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying here. Will be returning in the near future. Thank you!

Great for large groups - Work in Progress

Our family loved the location as it was secluded! There was plenty of room for our family of 12. Loved the large island in the kitchen. Sleeper sofa was comfortable. There were 2 cats that lived there, we fed them morning and night. Some in our family do not like cats, which was a bit of a problem. If allergic to cats, would not recommend as they are let in the house some (not by us but previous guests). Teenagers would be ok on top bunk, but not younger ones. Bathrooms needed additional cleaning. Take some Off or citronella as mosquitoes are plenty. Owner responded very quickly to needs and questions. Wifi was great. Would stay again because of size and location.

Disappointing

On first glance, this rental appears to be “nice.” However, that wasn’t our experience. Random spiders and dead mosquitos on the dinnerware. Ants in the kitchen sink. Long and short hairs all over the bedroom sheets. In the back bathroom, the tub had black mildew around the drain and on the shower curtain, along with what appeared to be the tub coming up that was just painted over. Outside, the surrounding area has some abandoned houses and an occupied camper right next to the cabin. The camper can see into the cabin through the back door and one of the bedrooms. The swimming hole had brown stagnant water, lots of bugs, and a garbage can full of cans, bottles, and dirty diapers. Walking around the property, we came across toilets, tires, broken glass, etc. Lack of outdoor lighting made it very dark at night; you would need to bring a flashlight to walk your dog. The biggest frustration was the owner ignoring my many messages after we arrived and left. She had our money and obviously didn’t care that we were too uncomfortable to stay the night; I’ve waited a full week for a response but have heard nothing back. This has been the only negative experience we’ve had traveling.

Hi, I'm Laurie a mother of 3 grown boys and 6 grandchildren that are my world. So, with that said I have gained so much knowledge when searching for places to stay when traveling with my loved ones. My family enjoys the outdoors, hiking, mushroom hunting, swimming, fishing and most of all bon fires at night. We also love to barbeque. So, with all that in mind I purchased this home summer of 2022 and totally remodeled it myself with help from my best friend, dad and others with 40% of the materials recycled and decor removed from other homes on the property. This location has brought much happiness to me after living in Ms. for the past 35 years, I'm finally home. I decided to share this location while I travel to give others a chance to embrace this little piece of heaven with their families. I have a lot of experience in vacation rentals. I managed 2 of my parent's vacation homes in Ms. Biloxi, Fl. Panamma city, Key West and for 13 years I was a property manager and ran all aspects of 2 VRBO's including maintenance in Biloxi and Gulfport areas. I have 2 other older homes on this property which in the near future will be vacation homes so more families can travel as groups. We also have about 500ft of riverside which is shallow enough to do a lazy river in the future.

The peace and serenity of this property is why you will love it here. The location is very close to town, but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. You can take a peaceful walk and listen to our little water fall and the flowing river.
