I live in southeastern Michigan with my wife -- children are grown (in their 30s). I have traveled to 47 of the 50 United Sates and to many countries. For me, there is no place like northern Michigan. Shanty Creek is the perfect place to enjoy it.

Why they chose this property

I have stayed at many places in northern Michigan and at many of the different Shanty Creek accommodations. Ridgewalk, in my opinion, offers the best combination of benefits.

What makes this property unique

The unit has a full kitchen, dining table, TVs with cable service, fireplace, WiFi, killer westerly views (for sunsets over Lake Bellaire), convenient parking, and a peaceful atmosphere. You have pool, spa, and health club access -- all free. Facilities are located a short (within walking) distance away at the Lakeview Hotel. Free transportation is often available from the resort to skiing at Schuss Mountain or to Bellaire's shopping district. **Check with the front desk for availability**
