Great unit and location

Wonderful spacious and well-equipped unit, quite close to the Village (about 5-10mins walk, or quick shuttle ride). After a snowy day, the next day was brilliant on the slopes and we could even ski back to the condo. Kids had a blast sledding, making ramps for jumps, playing snowball.

Let’s start with the good things!

Location is nice and within a 5-10 walk to the village. Pool area was excellent. The place is a large area and lots of beds. Check in was easy and Vacasa is quick to respond. When I originally checked I didn’t see much that was wrong but…… Now let’s get to the other stuff. After being in the place for a bit we started to see what others had posted before. Some had been posted quite a while ago and still seemed to needing to be fixed. The place in general is older and that is fine, but many light bulbs need to be replaced in the family room the chandelier only has 2 bulbs working many are out. Bathroom shower curtain completely molded and can’t see how cleaning people or owners can miss this very disgusting and felt dirtier getting out of the shower than getting in. For a few bucks could have made the experience a little better in the bathroom. The first couple of night we killed at least 6 spiders not a great sleeping experience when worrying about those kind of things. Exterminator please. Things that are not necessarily your fault but should need to know. This is July and the temperatures outside were in the high 90’s most of the stay. This unit does not have AC like many in this area. The room on the top floor was really unused because it was so warm. The main floor kitchen was really very warm until sunset and the outside could start to cool the inside down a bit. They had a fan but didn’t really cool the space down much. The bottom floor was cooler, but that was where most of the spiders were hanging out. Another interesting thing was the refrigerator the freezer was not working and the fridge area seemed to be cool just not cold. They had a larger freezer in the kitchen as a stand alone along with a couple dorm size refrigerators. My overall impression of this unit, is that no one is really keeping up with this unit and seems to be needing some TLC. But when looking back at the previous reviews it seems as though it might be falling on deaf ears. I hope the can figure this out, it could be a great place.

Family weekend

Great kitchen. Set up was very nice. Great location. Carpets were disgustingly dirty. Several tiles inside downstairs hall were missing pieces. Drink splattered door. Broken glass on floor in kitchen. Cob webs everywhere. Heater vents were covered in dust. Fireplace didn’t work. New batteries were brought but still didn’t work. Surfaces were dusty

Dated

The location of the condo is great however it is definitely not ski in/ ski out as advertised. There is a walking path that leads to the village parking lot. The house has some updates in the kitchen but for the most part it's extremely dated. The linens are all very old, it had a terrible smell, and it is VERY dark with several lights needing light bulb replacements. Most bedrooms have one small lamp. The downstairs bedrooms are FREEZING while the upstairs bedroom is really hot. Temperature control was a challenge.

Not our favorite

Honestly, there wasn’t a lot to love about this place. We even left a day early. The location is great, right off a very convenient shuttle stop and one of the first stops. But the place itself was missing items, had moldy shower curtain, broken shower head, cracked tiles, a broken chair and on. Vacasa employees were kind via text and phone and did bring a cutting board about 36 hours into our stay. But they did nothing about the chair that fell and broke and so I didn’t bother to share any of the other items that were missing, broken or uncomfortable.

Good stay

Open kitchen with common living room. Heater is strong. Fireplace works. We took shuttle to ski but walk back to the unit. It is convenient but it is challenging for skiing back to unit. You can use Northstar app to call shuttle. There is gate for parking and save you some parking fee if you ski during weekends or peak season. Up step is regular king size bed comfortable. Lower two rooms are smaller. Four twins bed for families with 4 kids and queen bed is comfortable for two adults.

Were not able to use condo

We did not use property because Northstar resort unexpectedly closed the weekend before, with less than 2 weeks notice, so skiing and restaurants and facilities were mostly closed. We tried to get refund or credit for next year as soon as we learned of Northstar closing, but VRBO and Vacasa have so far refused to provide any accommodation. Unless VRBO or Vacasa give us some refund/credit for this issue, we will NOT be using them again, and let all of our contacts know how unaccommodating they are.

Pleasant, convenient property with a few issues

We had a pleasant stay at this property over a four-day weekend. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and common area were as described, and our kids enjoyed staying with their friends in the double bunk bed room. The property itself was a short walk away from the village parking lot - all of the kids managed it without issues. There was an initial snafu with the number of towels provided based on the number of guests Vacasa received, but this was rectified on our second day. We encountered two main issues that prevented a higher star rating. The first issue was that the hot water heater only provides enough hot water for ~4 showers. Since this property is clearly designed for 6-8 guests, this means that you'll probably have to wait ~2-3 hours between each set of showers to let the hot water heater catch up. The second issue was that the freezer didn't work. Its temperature felt similar to the refrigerator temperature, but both temperatures were suspect as a result. We lost a set of ice cream on our first night, and we were lucky that we didn't bring more perishable freezer items.

Not ski -in and out

We are a family of 4 ( kids 13 and 14) stayed at the condo during ski week. First off - place is listed at ski in and out. It takes walking in ski boots roughly 15 minutes up the hill 1500 feet. Shuttle comes but not often it take a while to wait. Ski back - while you can, it really is confusing and not safe. You have to remove ski at some point as ski back crosses a road ( asphalt). Condo is not far from the resort but it definitely not ski in and out. Now a few words about condo itself. On pictures it looks amazing. In the reality it looks very aged and dark. Downstairs where kids are - its cold! and super dark. Each room has one tiny light on the night stand. The room that has 4 bunks - my son of 13 barely fit in there. Closet is tiny and there is barely any space between then. I cannot imaging having a group of 4 there. Bathrooms are old and dates. Carpet is dark and brown and dated. There are lots of blanks and they are full of dust ( we ended up using our own that be brought). We tried to cook. Skillet - they have one TINY skillet that was big enough to make 2 eggs. I asked management for another one - and they told me that that's not what house provides. Their cutting board was tiny as well. I would say that this house was not set up for people to cook. I would classify this place as one of the most dated places I have stayed at. I would not stay in this again. This home needs upgrade and some serious cleaning ! dust is all over the place.

Good location

There were a few things that needed addressing but no response came to our queries. (Dead light bulbs, no parking passes, hot pads, cutting board…). We have always had responsive owners/managers in past VRBO rentals so I don’t know where the communication broke down.

Great stay, be prepared to open key lock on entry

Key lock was confusing to use and master lock was inaccessible. During winter, check-in when there is still daylight as it is harder to open the door when it is cold at night. Overall great stay.

Cozy Condo

Loved the living room and spacious kitchen. Comfy couch, comfortable beds, cute decor. Lots of pots and pans to cook. We were able to cook many meals during our stay. The gym, sauna, hot tubs, and pools were very nice and clean. You have to walk to the Northstar parking lot area next to the condo's parking lot to get to the rec center where these amenities are. It was a great condo to come home to after a full day of activities.

Wonderful family vacation house

The house was very clean. It was close to Northstar village, just a short shuttle ride away which was very nice. The house is 3 stories with a lot of stairs which was difficult for my 1 year old but otherwise not a big deal. We had a great family vacation!!
