About this property

Hay Bale Cabin - 10 acres, views and trails

Enjoy a serene 10 acres all to yourself, nestled 15 minutes from Wimberley and Canyon Lake, 1 mile off of the scenic Devil's Backbone highway.

The Serenity Cabin is truly a retreat away from the city and the routine, yet a short drive to restaurants and the scenic attractions of the hill country.

It has amazing views down the canyon from the outside fire pit, and the cabin’s eco hay bale construction is unique and keeps the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The space
Bedrooms
The house has 2 bedrooms:
- The 1st bedroom has a king bedroom.
- The 2nd bedroom has a queen plus a twin trundle.

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped to make a nice meal, including a blender, a waffle maker, a kettle, a drip coffee machine, pots and pans of all sizes and a Weber grill. All plates, mugs, and bowls are handmade pottery.

Outdoor
There are trails to explore the property. The outdoor fireplace is about 70 yards from the house and features a gorgeous view over a forested valley.
We also have a trampoline for big and little ones!

The area
The closest grocery store (Brookshire Brothers) and restaurants are a short 10-min drive on Canyon Lake. You can also head toward Wimberley 15-20 min with lots more options.

Pets
You can let your pets off leash but be aware we do have fences with any of our neighbors so we wouldn’t want your pet to get lost.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire 10-acre property.
The cabin is the only house on the property.
Guests will be given access codes to the gate and the front door.

Note that the last mile before arriving at our property is a dirt road and takes about 5 minutes (the charm of being remote!), it's a little bumpy but any car can drive on it.

Quiet Serene Vacation Spot

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. We were amazed at how quiet and peaceful this location was, surrounded by the beauty of the Texas hill country. We didn't see a soul, and very few cars driving by at all, the whole time we were there. Stephanie was always helpful, when we needed anything! The view at the back of the properly was stunning, and the trails were nice and wonderfully maintained. We'll for sure be back!

Beautiful cabin in the woods

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cabin. Everything was clean and stocked, and the decor is pretty and cozy. The property itself is awesome, and there is a great view from the firepit area. Communication with the host was easy. Wewildefinitagainstayheragain in the future!

Sunrise and sunsets at the hay bale cabin

We would definitely return. The canyon view/land, the hiking trail, the trampoline and stick "teepee" show this is truly a little family's heaven and we were glad to share it. Clean, comfortable and close to Wimberley and Canyon Lake, if you want to leave.

Hay bale cabin

Booked this cabin on short notice for a last minute get away before school starts and we were not disappointed. Its location is ideal for anyone looking for the perks of San Marcos or New Braunfels without having to stay in town. The location is ideal for anyone looking for hill country views and is secluded if you enjoy privacy. We would definitely book again!

Amazing, Remote Getaway

This property was absolutely amazing! Remote and quiet with a beautiful sky full of stars at night. The hammock was perfect and made a nice napping place. The house was so cute and perfect! Rooms were large with nice comfy beds and the kitchen was very nice to cook in. Stephanie is a wonderful host and the book she had about the area was spot-on. So mucb helpful information about the area. Got a beautiful hike from it at the Gorge! Will definitely be booking again!!

Hill Country Hideaway

If you enjoy nature and unique stays, the Hay Bale Cabin is all that and good wifi too! My wife, son, and I stayed here for 8-9 days while between homes. We enjoyed the canyon overlook, covered porch, unique house, and the internet was fine for work, streaming, etc. The drive down the dirt road was a little long for my wife's preference, but the house wand location was worth it. The owner communication was great and she was understanding when we accidentally took her spare paper towels.
