About this property
Clew Bay Escape - 25% 2 Week Discount, 50% Monthly Discount
Luxury family house on quiet country lane overlooking Clew Bay. Our 4 bedroom, 3 bath, house sits on 7 acres on an elevated site 200m from the shores of Clew Bay. Take in the panoramic views of the bay and Croagh Patrick from the 100 sq m patio complete with 4 person hot tub. Inside, the house consists of a renovated Irish country cottage as an open plan kitchen-living space connected with a two-sided wood burning stove and a modern extension with four bedrooms, 3 baths, and a play room. The master bedroom ensuite has a large, walk-in, shower and restored cast-iron Edwardian bath. The upstairs bedroom commands the best views in the house and has a private shower room. Downstairs are two children's bedrooms, one with bunk beds and one with a double bed, and sharing the main family bathroom.
Our lane of just 5 houses gives total peace and seclusion, with access to walking along the shore. Yet the house is only 5 minutes from the charming village of Newport and 15 minutes from the vibrant town of Westport, past winner of Ireland's "Best Place to Live" and replete with night life, dining and entertainment. Clew Bay is renowned for its seafood, watersports and wildlife. Two golf courses are within 15 minutes at Westport and Mulranny, and the Championship links-style Belmullet Golf Club is just over an hour away. The adventurous can enjoy hiking and camping in the Ballycroy National park, just out the backdoor, or follow the pilgrimage trail up the "Reek" (Croagh Patrick). Beaches abound, with multiple Blue Flag beaches at Louisbourgh, Mulranny and Achill within a 45 minute drive. The Great Western Greenway bike trail is easily accessible just a mile from the house on a back laneway or can be joined in Westport, Newport or Mulranny.
