Dirty, unsafe, dirty, in the ghetto, dirty, laundry outside, and dirty
The front door lock did not work. There were dead worms and beetles everywhere inside. There were luggage tags in the bedding. Dirty rags left laying around. Heck neighborhood crime stats. Recent shooting right outside property…we left early
I stayed here with my wife, toddler and baby and everything was as advertised. Very spacious apartment, had all the amenities we needed, and very clean. You're pretty much within 10-15 minutes of most things you want to do in San Diego. The hosts were great with communication for check-in or any questions we had. Check-in is very smooth.
You get some street noise when you're in the living room, but the bedrooms are at the back of the unit and we never heard anything when trying to sleep, so that was nice. Beds were comfortable.
The parking spot is great, for the most part. It is right next to the stairs, and the apartment is right at the top of the stairs, so for a second floor unit if you're bringing things up or down it's as easy as it gets. The spot itself is a little awkward. It's tough to explain but you're parked parallel to the building in a narrow space, with two spots behind you, including one right on the corner. If those two spots are filled, it's a very tight squeeze to get in/out (we have a midsize SUV, for reference). But I can't complain about a designated parking spot in San Diego, those aren't easy to get, and the spot itself being right outside the door is great.
There is a park across the street for kids that looked decent, we weren't able to get over there because of the weather during our stay and wanting to get out to other places when it was actually nice out, but still good to know if you have kids.
Overall, very happy with our stay!

No power in bedrooms or bathroom
This was almost the perfect stay. This review might be a bit wordy, but it's important to read for anyone thinking of staying here.
We were only in town for one night. I traveled with my wife and 15 month old son. The apartment was clean, big, easy to find and the parking spot provided was great. There was even a park across the street which was an added bonus for a 15 month old. The only issue, and it's a big issue, was that there was NO POWER in either bedroom or bathroom. We had to keep the bathroom door open to use the toilet and shower. Neither bedroom had power so we couldn't charge phones or sound machines overnight (for baby). We were also unable to use our baby camera/ monitor.
When we first addressed the situation with the property manager, they sent a very pleasant cleaning woman to check the breaker. We explained that we already tried the breaker and that nothing we did could solve the issue. The manager was on the phone with the cleaning person and they asked if we could unplug the window AC units in the apartment. We unplugged all of them except the bedroom where my son was already napping at that time. There was never live power in that bedroom so the AC was never on. Unplugging it from the wall would not have done anything. When the cleaning person left, she told me the manager would contact me for next steps. The manager never contacted me for next steps. We left the apartment once my son woke up from his nap and we were gone from about 330pm-830pm. During that time, nothing was addressed, fixed, or even attempted to be fixed. When we got back that evening I wrote to the manager asking why nothing was done or even attempted. They gave me a half hearted response claiming that because we couldn't unplug the window unit while my son was napping, nothing could be done. This was nonsense.
I don't normally complain about a stay, but the mere fact that we had no power in the bedrooms or bathroom was a big enough reason to write this. I'm glad we were only there for one night. I would not recommend this place to anyone unfortunately because having power is a bare minimum. I understand unpredictable things can happen but they way they handled it was very disappointing . There was no offer for any partial refund or anything which would have been a nice gesture; but we didn't even get an apology for the inconvenience, which I just don't understand.
Thank you for reading.
