Nicer than I expected…

They’ve taken an older place and made it really nice. The location isn’t scenic … it sits along the street in town. However, it does have a great fenced courtyard that is really enjoyable. Everything else about the place was significantly better than the average VRBO, particularly those in less touristy areas. We enjoyed our time. It was particularly clean for the “dusty” west. Keep that up … it’s a difference maker.

The perfect place in Rye

Awesome stay at this little homestead in town. Plenty of room, inside and outside, the beds were very comfortable, all amenities, every room very clean and just a nice ambiance. Andrea was very responsive and a great host. It was perfect and we would come back.

Very nice house

This little vacation home was excellent. It was very clean and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable open format. It really felt quite spacious. A lot of nice little touches, like the coffee/cocoa bar had Torani syrups and locally made ceramic mugs. Each bunk bed had it's own theme and stuffies to snuggle with. A few different sitting areas, each with very comfortable chairs. The beds were comfortable. The double set of french doors in the front open up accordian style, which opened up the whole front of the house -- very nice for a refreshing morning breeze. We were visited in the morning by a buck snacking on the apple tree. Don't let the plainness of the exterior fool you -- this is a beautiful place. I rarely give 5-star reviews, but this place earned 5 stars from me!

An absolutely adorable little casa. Everything you need for a comfortable stay in the mountains, From the coffee bar to the beautiful murals on the wall, to the comfortable king size bed in the master, made for a wonderful stay.

Summer fun

We have been coming to Lake Isabel for the last 25 years. This house in Rye was perfect! Only 12 minutes to the lake. We really enjoyed our stay. Wish it could have been longer!

Great spot for kids

The double bunk beds were so fun for the kids. We were more in and out on a road trip so we were not able to enjoy the town/area longer but everything was great with the visit.

Great place to stay!

We travel to Rye a couple of times per year to visit family and since there’s no room for us with family we need a place close by to stay. This met all of our needs. It’s comfortable, well stocked and has a fenced yard for our little dogs. It’s close to our family but there’s also plenty to do and see while you’re there. We drove to Westcliiffe and saw the beautiful fourteeners mountain range and ate lunch at Chappy’s Bar and Grill. We highly recommend it for the beautiful scenery and good food! Also, you can stop at St. Isabel and Bishops Castle along the way. You won’t be sorry you chose to stay at this lovely little house!

The inside is beautifully decorated and was spacious enough for our family. The home was very clean. The bunk beds were a bit small for our adult children but they made due.

We were in town for a wedding the weekend we stayed. We needed a place in a central location to everything we needed (and of course comfortable.) This really for the bill. We were right next to the diner for breakfast, a short drive from the wedding venue, and close enough to the highway to visit Bishop Castle. The property owner was helpful, accommodating, and quick with a response via chat. The house was comfortable and clean. I cannot recommend enough.

Fantastic Experience!

I cannot say enough good things about this charming and cozy house! The large open kitchen area, well thought out decor, and hand painted walls are so welcoming and pleasing to the eye. This house truly had anything you could need. I really loved the sun room with books and games as well as the patio next to the apple trees. My boys enjoyed having hot chocolate in front of the small electric fireplace and we woke up to a beautiful buck just outside the window. Andrea was more than accommodating and a wonderful host! Thank you so much!!!

Hello - my name is Andrea and welcome to the Casa del Drea. A little history about me as your host. I grew up in Pueblo Co. (20 minutes north of Colorado City) and currently live in Denver Metro, Co. In my career in real estate, I always knew that I wanted to have a mountain home to take me away from the big city life and to enjoy my time off with my family and friends when we all have time to get together. I always liked the idea of having a short walk or ride to adventure the outdoors where the deer roam freely. When I am in Rye, some of my favorite things to do is start my day by enjoy my coffee in the sunroom, eating at the Rye Cafe (less than 1 block away) visiting with old friends and making new ones. Other fun things to do is picnic at the Rye Mountain Park-5 minutes away, San Isabel lake-10 minutes away, Bishops Castle-20 minutes away, the old town of Westcliffe-a short 45-minute drive and relaxing in the yard with a glass of wine and watching the deer. There are so many things to do in the surrounding areas that will take your breath away. Casa del Drea is a property that is unique. Some of the history of this property is that is at one time it was a garage, daycare and glass blowing art gallery. The unique apple trees (red, yellow and green) produce so many apples in the summer/fall time and the plumb trees are also producing which makes this an orchard haven. Also, the location offers access to so many fun things to do makes it a perfect location.
