We had a great vacation stay at this home. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and our son loved the kayaks and canoe. We were on the lake fishing and paddling every day.
Thank you for the quiet and peaceful stay in your Crystal River home. Your home was exactly as you advertised. The lake views reminded us of home and the sunsets were stunning.
Cottage Like Stay with Perfect Lake Rousseau Views!
We love Lake Rousseau and this place makes enjoying it easy. The dock has kayaks, a rowboat and fishing poles available. We had fires most nights, the yard is fully fenced so perfect for our Bernedoodle. We're a family of three so plenty of space and the kitchen was beyond well stocked to try a few new recipes crockpot dishes. Washer dryer work great, strong shower water pressure. While an older home, everything has been maintained. 20-ish minutes to Dunnellon and Crystal River... we'd book again after a week stay!
We stayed at this super cute property as I am recovering from knee surgery and we recently lost one of our dogs. We needed a change of scenery for ourselves and our other dog. This was a perfect reset out in nature. Reading, fishing, afternoon naps, and campfires. So thankful for this little piece of heaven.
We chose to spend our 28th annni in this adorable cottage. Very welcoming and homey. Amy provides everything you could possibly need - except for the fish that allegedly live in the lake.😆 The view of the the sunsets was a welcome surprise. We had a minor glitch when we arrived but Amy was very responsive and helpful. Can’t complain about this place. Nice getaway!
The house itself was fantastic. Very clean and well stocked. Communication with Amy was superb and any issues we had were promptly addressed. My only advice is that if your plan is to enjoy only the lake than this is a perfect house for your visit. Access to the gulf however is a different story. You have to go the the ramp just past the lake ramp and launch your boat into what I would describe as a large creek to access the main river leading to the gulf. This "creek" is very shallow at low tide and filled with rocks, logs, and stumps which made navigating it in my 20ft deck boat nearly impossible. I would suggest finding a different ramp if you plan on accessing the gulf. Overall the stay at the house itself was 5 stars!
This property is a jewel. Interior was decorated beautifully. We enjoyed every minute we were there. The water view was totally visible from the family room area. The house was spotless when we arrived, with everything we needed for our stay.
Our senior dog enjoyed the enclosed fenced yard.
Can't wait to return for another visit.
Stayed 4/20 -4/25. The lake house was the perfect place for the two of us to relax and enjoy the Nature Coast of Florida. We watched wildlife from the dock and enjoyed the sunsets each evening. Windy days deterred us from using the canoe except for one quick outing. Nothing negative with the house except that which was already mentioned. We would definitely recommend the lake house to those that enjoy quiet in nature and are looking for a home base to enjoy natural attractions in the vicinity, like Manatees!
We had an amazing stay here. The yard and house are beautiful and so relaxing. The only "problem" is the wifi is super slow (can't stream a show without it constantly stopping, can't get pics to load on internet. Not a big deal except our phone service was very limited also). Other than that the house was great. Lots to do in the area. We made use of the canoe. We saw a few gators. There is a fence post broken and my dog got out(we put it back in the ground and the yard was secure the rest of the trip. Just be sure to check because my little 9 lb dog was checking out the water while we unpacked lol). We'd return for sure. Check in/out was easy. We appreciate finding a rental that allows dogs.
The house was beautiful, open, bright, nicely decorated and very well-equipped, A highlight was a little bench where we could watch stunning sunsets over the lake each night. At a very nearby park there were also paved paths through absolutely gorgeous woods and along the canal were we walked, biked and rollerbladed everyday. We also enjoyed the kayaks which were easy to get in and out of the water, even when I was by myself. 25 minute drive takes you to beautiful Rainbow Springs State Park with gorgeous springs where you can swim, walk, kayak or tube, and nearby cute town of Dunnellon where you can rent bikes to ride on one of Florida’s longest rail trails. There are also nature trails, an ancient early indian archeological site, a sandy beach for swimming, grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants in Crystal River 20 minutes away. Fabulous two weeks!!! Thank you!!!
Have stayed in many VBRO's in the US, Europe & S. America & this is number 1 for us. If you want a peaceful place in delightful surrounding on a lake & fully equipped with comfortable Beds & no stairs you will not do better.
Was just perfect for me. Enjoyed the home and the nice comfortable beds and atmosphere. Grill worked great and outdoor area was amazing. Fire pit was a huge hit.
Bright spacious home. Well decorated and very comfortable and welcoming feel. Open kitchen to living room , spacious screened in back porch with view of lake and sunsets. Overall a very relaxing experiance
We enjoyed our stay. It was only a short drive to Crystal River and the views of the lake are beautiful. We were able to bring our four legged family members with us and the fenced in yard was great for them. There are also walking trails and a boat launch just minutes away. It was a nice getaway, very quiet and tranquil.
My husband and I spent a week in this Lake house.
The sunsets over the lake were soo beautiful.
We enjoyed sitting on the dock each evening enjoying the beauty and peacefulness.
The house was perfect for us. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped . Comfortable beds and nice sitting areas with lake views. We spent a lot of time in the sunroom at night listening to music and having our nightly tea. Nice size bathroom and big fluffy towels.
The house was just as advertised and very clean. The location was great also. Very quiet neighborhood and 20 min to Crystal River .
Our host Amy, was very friendly and easy to contact We would definitely stay here again!
