I proposed to my now fiance here!.The stay was wonderful. The place is spacious and has everything one could need. The projector room felt like being in a private movie theater and that was super fun. They did have a lot of rules for the stay but once you arrive the rules didn't interfere with anything we wanted to do.Some of the spaces felt a bit empty, but that's also because the rooms are large.Overall a great stay, would do it again
Overall, we had a really great stay. The property is extremely well maintained and clean. It's nestled in the mountains with no neighbors except for the homes below. The property is in the mountains so very steep and winding driveway. The main bedroom with King bed is in the 2nd story along with 2 other bedrooms that have a queen bed in each. There's another bedroom in the basement with 2 queens. All bedrooms had attached baths except the basement bath was detached and around the corner from the bedroom. The 3rd level boasts an awesome media room with comfy, deep couches which fit our group of 7 adults perfectly- no issues connecting with netflix to watch a movie. Although guests are not allowed to use the espresso machine, the regular coffee machine (Wolf brand) made a really great cup of coffee. We saw deer in the yard every morning along with amazing sunsets and sunrises. The house is a bit of a drive from Portland- horrible horrible traffic. That it's our biggest complaint... be prepared to sit in traffic if traveling into Oregon. The host, Chelisa, was great! Easy communication and replied to all questions during our stay. If back in the area, we would definitely book this chateau again.
My girlfriends and I stayed at this property for my wedding weekend. Chelisa was very attentive and accommodating of my wedding day requests (additional guests) without any issues.
The property itself was stunning, truly jaw dropping and the view was unbeatable. Incredible natural light too! Getting ready here on my wedding day was a dream!
The Hillside Chateau is perfectly situated to give you private luxury with amazing views but super close to everything you may need. We had deer greet us everyday and hummingbirds buzzing by as we enjoyed the crisp Washington breezes! The house was perfect for our family of six adults! Art and Chelisa are wonderful hosts and super responsive to texts with questions? Thanks!
We are a group of 8 friends who go on vacation for a week every year.( for over 30 years ) We are 70 years plus old! Property and views were wonderful. Many deer sightings, a view of the Columbia River. House was beautiful and updated, each couple had their own bathrooms attached to rooms. It is 3 stories, so if anyone has issues with stairs consider that when booking. We had no problem.
Property owners were very attentive and would definitely recommend this property.
It was a beautiful home and the view was amazing. Communication with the owner was easy and responses were helpful and quick. I would recommend this home, and hope to go back sometime.
Excellent location for a reunion! **bring a sleep mask!**
The property, or "castle" as we called it, was absolutely amazing for a gathering of close friends from around the country. There was abundant and comfortable space for everyone staying there, and the communal spaces were really nice. Having Sonos speakers in every room was an excellent touch and really contributed to the good vibes of the property. The kitchen was great for cooking, though there's a chance you'll run out of pots and pans if you endeavor to make a multi-course meal. The theater was really awesome, though it'd be nice to have access to the inputs in case someone wanted to plug in a Switch or something. It'll be absolutely divine when they get space heaters set up for guest use on the outdoor patio! As per the title, bring sleep masks. There are no blinds on most of the windows, except the master and basement bedrooms. This isn't a big deal for privacy as there aren't any visible neighbors, but sunlight will certainly wake you up if you don't have something to block it. The view is spectacular!!
The only minor points that seemed out of sync with the rest of the experience were that the drip coffee brewer (the only coffee appliance for guests) smelled a little stale and seemed to leave an off taste in coffee, and that the wifi lightbulbs (while a great idea for things such as changing the color temperature according to time of day) were sometimes inconsistent at staying connected to the wifi, causing them to blink for several minutes while they reconnected.
The property, the house, the views, and the hostess all exceeded our expectations. Communication with the owner was wonderful and she was so helpful. We hope to enjoy this chateau again very soon!!!
Our group recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning vacation home in Washougal, and we must say, it exceeded all our expectations. Perched on a private hillside, the property offers unparalleled views of the majestic Columbia River, providing a breathtaking backdrop throughout our stay.
We were impressed by the accommodating owners of the property, who were incredibly responsive and attended to all our requests in a timely manner. From assisting with specific amenities to providing helpful information about the area, they were always quick to reply and made us feel well taken care of.
During our stay, some of our friends had the pleasure of meeting Art, one of the owners. Art went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Not only was he kind and attentive to our needs, but he also provided us with fantastic bakery recommendations. We were celebrating a friend's graduation, and the bakery experiences added an extra touch of celebration and joy to our trip. Art's thoughtful suggestions made our stay even more memorable.
Before our departure, we appreciated the detailed manual provided by the owners. It outlined, in a step-by-step manner, how to properly leave the property at the end of our stay. Following the instructions in the manual ensured a smooth and organized check-out process, allowing us to wrap up our vacation with ease.
We highly recommend this property for a memorable and rejuvenating vacation!
From the moment you pull up to the gate, this property simply blows you away. The views, landscaping, wildlife and the Chateau…all top notch. The space has been built, designed and furnished with exquisite detail. While the common areas provide loads of natural light and luxury accommodations, the private rooms let you relax in peace with fantastic amenities and extremely comfortable bedding. The pictures don’t truly show you how absolutely wonderful this rental is. Art and Chelisa are the most amazing hosts we’ve come across thus far, 10/10 overall and we’ll definitely be back!
