Review
The bedrooms were smaller than they appear on the website.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at this VRBO. Although the house wasn't fancy, it's typical of most coastal rentals. It was very roomy in the kitchen and living areas. The sleeping layout was great, with three separate small rooms. Five of us slept comfortably, and it had the capacity for three more people. Our favorite part was the private fishing pier. We practically lived on the pier throughout the entire weekend, and we caught quite a few fish. The host quickly responded to our needs. We'd definitely stay there again.
AC was not sufficient and wasn’t turned on when we arrived. Satellite TV was disconnected. No wifi was working. House was not cleaned. Mouse droppings were all over the kitchen. Coffee maker was dirty and had to be cleaned before use. Pier light was not working. Sand was in the bedsheets.
I really liked the property. Very good location. It had all we needed. However, for the price I thought it was not cleaned very well. Shower has mildew and soap scum as well the shower curtain was nasty with mild and mildew. You could see dirt under couches and under pool table. I want to reiterate, we liked the place and enjoyed our stay, but the price plus cleaning fee did not match the state of the property.
If you want a setting for a scary movie look no further, you found it Property was not in a livable condition, let alone a rentable one. When we arrived the first thing I saw were fleas on the bed. There were ants everywhere, rat traps in the “fully stocked” kitchen, rats under the bed at night, rats ate thru our food. There was mold which made 6 out of the 8 of us terribly sick. There were beans in the microwave that were month old and molded. It was obvious the house hadn’t been cleaned in years. There was wood nailed down with giant gaps in one of the bathrooms with someone else’s hair everywhere. The best way to describe the condition was absolutely filthy. We ended up not staying the entire trip. On the first night my teenage son found THC gummies in the cabinet, my niece wanted grilled cheese and the only pan there was one with a broken handle and looked to be about 30 years old. She burned her hand on what little bit of plastic was remaining on the handle- she’s 12. In our room my husband and I couldn’t sleep due to the flea infested bed, the kids couldn’t sleep due to the ants and my son had to take a mattress to the living room because there was mold in the air conditioner (which he is highly allergic to mold). The photos do not accurately reflect the property. I told the PM about the fleas and they set bug bombs off under the house while we were in it. The PM came to the house at night w/o telling us and was under the house looking for something which we found odd.
