We had a terrible experience with this property. We arrived to visit our son, who is stationed nearby in the Coast Guard, but could not access the home because the entry code provided by the owner, Jim, did not work. Despite numerous attempts (all captured on video), and ringing the Ring doorbells at both the front and back doors, there was no answer. We called the provided number, left voicemails, and sent texts—still no response.
We also contacted the house representative, Tonya, who had texted us earlier. She refused to come help, stating she had no way to open the door remotely and told us to keep trying to reach the owner. We were left without a place to stay for the night. The next morning, I began calling at 7 a.m. with no luck. After an hour on the phone with VRBO, they finally reached Jim, who said he doesn’t take calls from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., even though he knew we were arriving after 10 p.m. due to a late flight.
Jim initially agreed to provide a refund for the night due to the incorrect code but later claimed it was user error and refused. We have video proof that the code provided did not work. The property was also dirty, the BBQ pit smelled like a trash can, and there are cameras monitoring guests outside, which felt intrusive.
Do not risk your vacation here. If you arrive late, be aware that no support will be available. Our experience with both the owner and VRBO was disappointing, and it negatively affected our trip.
