My third time staying at The Selkirk Flat, and it never disappoints. Clean, cozy and comfortable for a solo trip or couples weekend with lots to do outdoors in the area. They've really nailed the home away from home feel and I recommend this spot to everyone looking for a long weekend away.
Janice and Brad have created a wonderful cabin where we felt at home right away. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of the space made for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The location was great as we were able to easily take day trips into Canada and Sandpoint, and also sit back in front of the wood stove and watch the amazing fall colors outside.
I was here in February, and brought my wife back this time. We had a wonderful time! They've made some really nice improvements just since my stay earlier this year that made the cabin even cozier and more inviting this time around. There's plenty to do nearby as well if you need some fresh air. Couldn't recommend enough!
Property was clean and welcoming we enjoyed our stay very much. The hosts left little treats from coffee and tea to snack bars and mac and cheese that was the cherry on the top
Went to the Selkirk Flat Retreat for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was perfect, nice and secluded and quiet. The wood burning stove was a nice way to heat the cabin. Just far enough out of town for seclusion but not too far away for restaurants and excursions.
Very quaint cottage with so many extras for folks traveling with pups, doggie door and small fenced kennel were especially appreciated. Thanks for the hospitality! Sweet and friendly hosts 💕
Beautiful little house! We were amazed at how complete the house was for being so compact. A full washer and dryer! Wish we could have spent more time there.
Quiet, peaceful, cozy spot to get away from it all.
Selkirk Flat is far enough 'away' to feel secluded from the busyness of life, but close enough to pop into town for a meal or quick stop. Lots of hiking and beautiful waterfalls close by too. The flat itself is well appointed but maintains it's 'cabin in the woods' vibe. I loved it!
A teacher on spring break, I took my dog along with me for a ski vacation at Schweitzer and found the perfect place to stay! The location is gorgeous, the hosts are wonderful, and the cabin is perfect in every way. Never before have I stayed in one location for 8 nights, and I don't think I could have chosen a better place to do it!
Quiet place, easy to find/get too. Not too far from town/stores. Enjoyed seeing wildlife - turkeys, deer, rabbits, geese, ducks, bald eagles. Host was very prompt in addressing the few minor issues that came up.
The Selkirk Flat Cabin was a magical experience. The cabin accommodations leave you wanting for nothing. Hosts Janice and Brad are two of the most genuine, real, kind people you will ever meet!
The little cabin was such a perfect location and place to stay on our way to Canada. We were looking for a remote location to hike with our dogs and this was lovely. The cabin is dog friendly with a dog door to a kennel and small fenced area. Hiking and wilderness is just minutes away and it’s the perfect cozy place to relax in the evening. Thank you.
