About this property

Quaint home in Oak Hill, Conveniently Located.

We are minutes away from many of the major attractions in the area including: rafting companies (ACE, AOTG, River Expeditions), hiking, shops, and restaurants. We are located in the city of Oak Hill so no crazy backroads or surprises : )

Relax on our back porch, around the firepit, or inside in AC after a great day of having fun!

The space includes two bedrooms (each with their own TV). One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two bunk beds (3 twins and a full). We have a washer and dryer at your disposal.

The house is 936 square feet. We welcome 6 people to stay at a time, but be aware that it can get a bit crowded with that number (the bathroom is pretty small). 4 people can fit quite comfortably :)

Please note that the “No Pet” policy is for guests. When we are using the house, we do bring our dog, Medora. She will usually end up being there about 2-3 weeks total throughout the year. If you have a very severe dog allergy, please consider this before booking.

Great little place for a trip to the National Park!

Would have rated it 10/10, but the couch in the living room smelled so badly like dogs, it made the room stink. The rest of the house was odorless, thankfully! There were lots of extra amenities like a hot water heater for tea! Agree with other comments regarding the bathroom, if you’re a larger person it may not suit you.

Serene stay

Gauley Weekend

My daughter and I were in town to raft the Gauley, and this property was perfect for us. 10-15 minutes from ACE, 10 minutes from Fayetteville. Great location for Gauley season!

I loved that we had laundry! The kitchen was large and had everything we needed to prepare some meals. We also loved the fire pit outside. It was a bit outdated and could’ve been tidied up a little more before we got there but that was our only complaints.

Perfect little getaway!

This property was absolutely perfect for my family! My girls LOVED going out and blowing bubbles on the back porch (which the host provided a bubble machine). There were games for all ages, kitchen has everything we needed to stay in and cook, host was super responsive and awesome! Saving this listing as our go to stay when we come down to visit family!

My husband, daughter and I stayed here because we were attending a wedding at Ace Resort. We were impressed with the cleanliness and coziness of the house! It was perfect for a weekend getaway. Convenient to New River Gorge NP

We stayed two nights at the house on our trip to visit New River Gorge National Park in June. The house had everything we needed and was well stocked with kitchen supplies. We walked to Tudor's Biscuit World for breakfast one of the mornings, since it is only two blocks away. Our communication with David was great during our stay and he was quick to respond to any questions.

Great place!

We loved this house! Easy to get to and was very clean! David allowed us to check in an hour early, which was great when traveling with an infant. The house is stocked with so much stuff, we were all impressed! Would definitely recommend David’s place!!

Unexpectedly pleasant.

Great location. Was perfect for us. Private, quiet. The kids were safe and happy to play outside. Some of games had things missing, this is just a mention. But fit our needs well. Would book again.

Comfy and Cozy!

We loved it! We only stayed one night on our way through from Savannah to Ohio. It was perfectly comfy. There are 6 of us and we all fit just fine. The shower was hot! The place was clean and well appointed. The neighbors were so friendly and sweet. We will definitely stay again! Thank you for everything!

Good house for an adventurous weekend.

We so enjoyed our stay in this house, which is conveniently located near ACE Adventure Park and lots of trailheads. We particularly appreciated how well-stacked the kitchen is with cooking implements, spices, etc; it was very easy to prep all our meals. The host is communicative and gracious. Absolutely Perfect

This home is clean and cozy, beds are comfortable and everything in listing was accurate. We felt so at home here. We made use of the laundry and kitchen. Perfect! Coffee along with sweetener and creamer was provided. So thoughtful! David was a great communicator and the guidebook provided was very helpful. When we come back we will definitely try to stay in his home. Thanks David!

Location Location Location

Clean property. Great value. Communication was great. The neighborhood is quiet and located near many of the attractions in the area. Easy walk to eateries. Perfect location. Nice place to come back to after a day of adventure. Plenty of room room for 2 adults and 2 teens. Nice outdoor area. Kept stocked with everything you need and more!

My name is David! I am an elementary music teacher from Detroit, MI. My wife, Kat, is a nurse. We are both avid travelers and love going on new adventures! During the summers, I am a whitewater raft guide in West Virginia, while my wife likes to cook/bake. We both love to ski, check out local coffee shops, and go hiking! When we are not traveling some of our favorite things to do is go to coffee shops and play board games, take our dog, Medora, on walks, and go kayaking. Being from Michigan we have many lakes to chose from : )

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because we are part of the whitewater rafting community in the area. We come down when we can to enjoy the nature in the area, but even more so, the wonderful people that live here.
