About this property
NEW LISTING: Modern Adobe styled sanctuary 10 minutes from downtown Santa Fe
NOTE: This home only allows monthly or multi-monthly rentals. Arrivals must be on the 1st of the month and departures on the last day of a month.
Casa Cielo Rosa is located in the safe and quiet neighborhood of Tessera with nightly sunset views of the Santa Fe big sky AND lovely walking trails right from the back door.
Experience contemporary Santa Fe living just 5 miles from historic downtown and 9 miles from the Santa Fe Opera. Also, for skiers and snowboarders, the beautiful mountains of "Ski Santa Fe" are only a 40 minute drive away.
Casa Cielo Rosa is a modern and tasteful adobe-styled sanctuary in the beautiful Tessera subdivision just off NM-599 (near Aldea). The sanctuary includes a main house (2 BR, 2 BA) with an adjacent 1 BR, 1 BA office/ guest casita. The main house has a third room currently serving as a craft room or office. It contains a worktable and trundle bed.
Situated on a slight rise in the sun-drenched high-desert, Casa Cielo Rosa’s contemporary lines and stacked stone columns are a welcoming blend of traditional New Mexican architecture and modern living.
Like traditional Spanish-style architecture, entrance to the home is via a stylish metal gate and outdoor-living space. After climbing a short set of stairs (five), you will be mere steps from the front door, but also greeted by a breezeway that doubles as a patio complete with sitting area. Using passive cooling design, shade is provided by the walls of the abode itself. This is an excellent spot to take respite and relish the world-renowned Santa Fe climate.
To the left of the breezeway is the stand-alone casita. We’ll detail the casita a bit later. For now, let’s head into the main house.
Upon entering Casa Cielo Rosa, you will be struck by a sense of light and open space. Your eyes will be drawn to the 10-foot ceiling, which features dark exposed beams, iconic of the Southwest. Warm woods and neutral, earthy tones have been selected throughout the home, providing a soothing rest for the tired senses.
Casa Cielo Rosa is an open floor plan, so the kitchen, dining, and living room are all adjoined without interruption. There is plenty of space for relaxing or entertaining. The fully equipped kitchen has beautiful maple cabinets, all new appliances, and a breakfast bar for four. The dining table has a leaf so it can seat up to 10 people. The living room includes a 65” Smart TV, feature wall with a gas fireplace, and access to a covered patio (portal).
Turning left from the front door will take you to the spacious Primary bedroom suite, featuring a king bed, quaint desk, an intimate sitting area and a 55” Smart TV. The en-suite bath has separate shower and soaking tub plus a large walk-in closet. Finally, the Primary suite enjoys direct access to the breezeway via glass French doors.
The guest wing of Casa Cielo Rosa is on the opposite side from the Primary suite. It includes a tranquil Queen bedroom with a 50” Smart TV, a shared guest bath with tub/shower combo, a creative office/studio/craft space with trundle bed (two twin beds), full laundry room, and access to the 2-car garage.
Now it’s time to direct your attention back to the freestanding casita off the breezeway. It is tastefully decorated as a private office with an Italian leather sofa that converts to a queen bed. You, or your guests, will love the fabulous view to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from the desk. The casita also includes a wet bar, a private bathroom with walk-in shower (no tub), and a large walk-in closet.
The two outdoor spaces of Casa Cielo Rosa include the breezeway at the entrance and the portal (covered patio) off the living room. Both are furnished with cozy lounges and chairs. Both are lovely for morning coffee, afternoon margaritas, and evening stargazing. The fabulous Santa Fe climate means that even in winter there are days that are warm enough to be outside. Two outdoor spaces mean that in summer you can always find a cooler spot in the shade. A gas BBQ grill is provided on the back portal.
If nature and sunsets are something you look forward to, you will particularly enjoy the back portal (covered patio). The desert grass, junipers, and piñons grow right up to the patio, eliciting a sense of wilderness. This is also an excellent spot for marveling at the spectacular Santa Fe sunsets and star-filled skies.
If you like to be outdoors and stay active, you’ll be interested to know that the Tessera neighborhood also boasts an extensive open-space hiking trail system that is accessible from Casa Cielo Rosa’s backyard. Enjoy the trails with their fabulous mountain views!
Amenities include a double garage, washer, dryer, and laundry sink, central heating and air conditioning, gas BBQ, super fast WIFI (500 mbps+), fully equipped kitchen, and all linens. Last, but not least, there are 3 Smart TV’s (the living room features a 65” Smart TV with a full complement of cable TV stations as well as streaming). Don’t forget the great walking trails!
With all this plus easy access to I-25, downtown Santa Fe, and US-285 toward Los Alamos and Taos, Casa Cielo Rosa is hard to refuse. You will want to return year after year.
