About this property

Historic Home- Walking Distance to Downtown

You'll have this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home all to yourself. Enjoy a cup of coffee out on the front porch, or ride your bike to the nearby trails on Blackwater Creek. Convenient to all the local universities, you'll be sure to enjoy your stay, no matter how you choose to spend your time!

This beautiful 1906 home is a photographer's dream! Perfect for wedding parties.

THE KITCHEN - Equipped with a full refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, 4-toast toaster, coffee pot and is stocked with cooking tools and dishes. The coffee bar includes a variety of coffee flavors and teas for your enjoyment.

THE DINING ROOM - Seating for 6 in the large dining room. Enjoy a meal or a game around the table.

THE LIVING ROOM - Equipped with a Queen Pullout and a TV, there are doors that can be closed to give privacy and feel like a true 4th bedroom!

BEDROOM 1 - Upstairs with a Queen Bed, a full dresser, luggage rack, and a small closet, reminiscent of the era. Each Queen bedroom is equipped with a TV.

BEDROOM 2 - Another Queen Bedroom upstairs, just like the first. Full dresser, luggage rack, small closet and TV.

BEDROOM 3 - This small bunk room upstairs is perfect for the kids! 1 Bunk Bed with two single beds, and a luggage rack complete the room.

BATHROOMS - 1 full bath on each level - enjoy the clawfoot tub upstairs and feel free to utilize the washer dryer in the lower level bath.

OUTSIDE - Enjoy front porch sitting on this downtown street corner. The backyard is owned by the church next door, but they are gracious to let us use it. We ask our guests to please be respectful and clean up after themselves.

Guests will enter the home via a keypad on the backdoor. The easiest access to this is from the church parking lot right next door where guests may utilize two of our private parking spots.

This home was remodeled in 2021 but the character of the early 1900s is seen throughout. We are excited to offer brand new heating/cooling, electrical and plumbing, AND the beautiful, ornate details you would expect of a home built in 1906. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Great home base to explore Lynchburg

This charming home was a comfortable, calm refuge during our very busy visit to Lynchburg. The beds were cozy, the place spotless, and the downstairs shower was heavenly! So many great places within walking distance-and easy access to the expressway. We felt safe the entire time and grateful for the Diamond Hill retreat

Better than advertised

We had a terrific experience. This vintage house is beautiful. Everything is first class and well done. The owners were very accommodating and went above and beyond typical VRBO hosts. Will stay again in the future.

Wedding weekend

My husband, myself and our adult children and spouses needed a home away from home for my niece’s wedding event. We always enjoy homes with character. This was spot on. Beautiful very clean and near a lot of historic places. While we didn’t do a lot of cooking everything was places very well and we could have. The bedrooms were spacious and even the tiny bunk bed room served a great purpose. Thank you for the organized and beautiful weekend to compliment our stay!

A 5 star stay!

Diamond Hill Place is a great house to stay in while in Lynchburg, and I plan to book it again in the future. The property owners have thought of everything to extend warm hospitality. The house is super clean and updated, but all of the historic charm of the house is still there. The location is great, in beautiful Diamond Hill, and an easy walk to downtown and all the restaurants, etc. I really enjoyed my stay in this home.

Large size home, parking convenient (thankfully not on the busy street), walkway to get in really needs to be better (a couple pavers when it is raining are difficult and messy to navigate; also difficult to navigate and unsafe for elderly guests), back steps are very steep (difficult to manage for elderly guests), main 2 bedrooms are comfortable, would not recommend twin beds for anyone other than very small children (top bunk okay but bottom bunk is very close quarters!), clean, instructions on how to navigate heating/cooling would be nice (house was a little warm at 75). Overall better than a hotel offering good space and giving ability to cook.

Thanksgiving Trip

The house was beautiful and just what we needed. There wasn’t a hair dryer for my wife like it said there was, but that was the only mishap. There was a used coffee pod left in the other bowl of pods. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy. First night for over thirty minutes at 11:30 at night there was an old drunk guy screaming profanities up and down the street. Last night we had police presence right down the road and then heard five more with lights and sirens fly right by the house up the street. Other than the sketchy neighborhood, the stay was what we needed. The thermostat is also quite aggravating and would reset itself. I woke up last night to it not staying at the temp I set and it was only 61.

Great stay in cute neighborhood

Graduation and Mother’s Day weekend were the occasions for a few days In Lynchburg. The cute house on Grace street made it wonderful for everyone. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds were comfy, the neighborhood was a great place to walk and see sights. Plus we all enjoyed the front porch. My only caution is if you’re traveling with an elderly person. My MIL struggled with the steps going into the house. Also I would only consider using the bunk room for kids. The beds looked great but the room is pretty small. The other 2 bedrooms were quite large. We would definitely stay here again. The hosts were great. We loved it!

Dan & Anna met at James Madison University in 2006, and have lived in the Lynchburg area for over 10 years. We ventured into the world of hosting back in 2015 when we rented our home to guests from time to time. We loved it so much that we decided to create a space for guests to stay full-time! We spend much of our time keeping up with our three children, and exploring the city we love. We are excited to share our little city with you!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property the moment we saw it. It has so many unique features that bring you back to the early 20th century, but we knew the importance of updated features that guests depend on. This home is a perfect mix of the two. We also love its proximity to downtown. A walk or drive up Washington St. allows visitors to see some of the beautiful properties in this historic district. We are proud of all the revitalization happening here and are thrilled to share it with all who stay with us!
