We had a great, relaxing girls weekend! Perfect getaway to enjoy the fall colors, and relaxed in the hot tub! Property was perfect, clean and excellent communication with the hosts! Thank you! 😊
It is a very nice house and property with a nice view of the lake. It is about 95 steps down to the lake. So be in good shape to walk back up. The amenities are plentiful.
The property is out of town on a hill by a lake. Beautiful lake view from back deck, which was very peaceful to sit on in the morning and evening. The deck was also very well appointed with a grill, smoker, prep table, and ample seating with an umbrella. This area was the highlight of the property.
The inside kitchen was well appointed, except we couldn't find a larger frying pan but made due and had plenty of dishes and silverware.
Kitchen area had some house rules but some contradictory info in the book. We did our best to follow them.
Living room area was ok and it was nice to have the roku. Seating was ok but was an awkward setup for our evening movie, the tv was very high.
Main entry was nice. Plenty of space. However, there was not a handrail on the stairs to get to the main living area.
The master bedroom was nice but no closet or any space for clothes. The other two bedrooms were nice KID rooms but not for adults. One room has only a double bed that made it difficult for my son and his fiancee to sleep in, it is not meant for a couple. The other room is bunkbeds that our adult daughter slept in. The house seems best for one couple with young kids.
Getting down to and back up from the lake is difficult as there are a LOT of stairs with no handrails. We were disappointed as the beach is not really a sandy walk in type of beach. It is covered with larger algae covered rocks making it slippery and difficult to walk in the water.
beach. It had huge rocks
The accommodations were excellent with all the amenities of home as well as water toys. Britney was very responsive. Fishing was decent despite night rains and hot days. We rented a pontoon from the local resort on the lake, which was convenient. Would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing time! The property was perfect. Our kids are ages 3 and 7 and they had tons of fun with the playground, toys, lily pad, games, bikes, and other activities. The lakefront was just gorgeous and we made awesome memories on the water with our kids. The paddle board was particularly fun for the adults to try. The kitchen was set up so well to cook and the indoor and outdoor areas were spacious to eat and hang out. We had everything we needed except more time. Hope to come back again!
This place really has it all! The cabin itself is a great place to stay with all the amenities that you need to really enjoy yourself without any worries. The owners communicate really well if there are any questions/concerns. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a few days away from the "madness". Thank you!
This very private home had every we were looking for and more. I overpacked because I didn't realize how well-stocked it was. We loved it so much that we booked it again for next year before we left. We only left once during a 4 night stay and I was never bored; I especially loved hanging out by the shore with the dock, fire pit, and loons, turtles, and an osprey that frequent the area.
The cabin was beautiful and had everything you needed. If there was something you forgot they had you covered and if not town was 15-20 minutes away to go grab it. It was quiet and private, and had plenty of room to play games and chill outside.
Britney was very communicative and the home was gorgeous! Great location on the lake, had so much room for outdoor activities and the home provided all of the amenities needed. We had an amazing stay! Definitely will be back :)

It had a beautiful lake view, a quiet location, and a well maintained place to stay.
We really enjoyed our time away. Property was even better than described. Everything we needed and more was there for us which was amazing! Best selection of kitchen items I’ve had yet at a property! Definitely appreciate that! We saw a deer and her fawn and some other deer, turkeys and their babies, love the loons on the lake and a hummingbird surprised me on the deck. The lake wasn’t super busy and we enjoyed exploring it. Lots of towns close by to explore too. Awesome communication to answer my questions. Thanks so much for sharing your property so others can enjoy it!
Great week of overall accommodations and weather (yes, our host even provided GREAT weather over our July 4th holiday week, LOL). Appreciated all the amenities; great space for our family of Mom, Dad and 4 kiddos! The property was clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the large deck, the hot tub and lake dock. Nice swim area, plus kids able to fish from the dock. Great communication connection with the owners.
We had a fantastic time while staying here. The place had everything and I mean everything you could possibly need. If you are looking for a place in the Brainerd area I definitely recommend staying here.
This lake home is simply lovely! Clean, modern decor, comfortable king bed, and very well stocked for everything a family needs. It's a home away from home for sure. Our seven and four year old absolutely loved catching sunfish and crappies off the dock, as well as swimming, going for rides on the double kayak and paddle board. And, of course we really enjoyed the awesome hot tub at the end of each day's adventures. We rented a fishing boat from a nearby resort for a day, which was also fun. And, spent a day at sandy Whipple Beach which was about 30 minutes away. We also spent a day at Cayuga bike trails, which was about 15 minutes away. There is so much to do for families both at the house and nearby. Recommend appropriate shoes for the steps to the lake and water.

About the host
Hosted by Britney
Hey there. My name is Britney. My husband and I built this home alongside our three children in 2021. We love being in the Brainerd Lakes area and joining in on all the exciting activities (especially those in the summer!)
Why they chose this property
Our property is very kid friendly. We have tons of outdoor activities for kids including a tree house and slide, climbing dome, teeter toter, and most importantly room to run and explore. The lake is down the bluff (steps are constructed from recycled guard rail posts), but is the best spot on the lake with little to no weeds. Lily pad, kayak and paddle board will be available to use upon request.
