About this property

Garden Waterfront Cabin 20A

What do our guests say about us? Perfect! Amazing! Awesome! We will be back!

As you round the shoreline, the stretching waterfront landscape will catch your eye as you approach the parking lot directly in front of the lodge (Yes! There is ample space for a trailer!). You will use a keyless lock system to enter your cabin.

Open the door and walk down the stairs into your new place. Upon entry, you will be instantly greeted with the aroma of pine which is visible in the tongue and groove walls and ceiling as well as an instant sight of north facing windows capturing a stunning view of the Portage Canal. On second look, you will notice a comfortable queen bed inside a single bedroom and a queen pull out sleeper sofa (sleeps 4 total) among other beautifully crafted pieces of cedar, Amish made furniture.

Each of our hand made, custom milled, northwoods cabins boast a three story duplex including a ground level, garden style unit and an upstairs double decker terrace style unit. The cabin size in total is 2,500 square feet! (550 and 1,950 square feet respectively). They all include full kitchens and washer/dryer units for your convenience and utility.

Walk out the back door onto your patio and embrace the jaw dropping, sweeping beauty of the Keweenaw Waterway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Whatever your needs may be: Visiting Michigan Tech, snowmobiling (the Bill Nichols trail is only .25 miles from the resort!), swimming at the beach, or skiing (Mont Ripley is less than 2 miles from the resort), we offer a comfortable, comprehensive resort experience for you.

Memories are in the making!

Nice location, very clean!

It was a very nice place to say, with the exception of how terrible the mattress was. It was so uncomfortable and so loud. As much as I enjoyed the rest of it, that will definitely factor into if I book again or not.

Glitch in our stay

the place was exactly as shown & was a beautiful view. We overall enjoyed the stay. However, we were 3 days into our vacation when we had a torrential downpour that caused flooding inside our cabin. We contacted management & received a response within 15 minutes. Shortly after the storm we were told to pack all of our things up as we were being moved to another cabin. So we packed up everything including the food we brought for the trip. What was upsetting is that we got settled into the next cabin (thinking we were going to remain there) to receive a text the next morning to pack everything back up and move back to the cabin that we were previously in as it has been cleaned. it was upsetting because we are supposed to be relaxing on vacation, not moving back & forth between units. We realize things happen that are beyond their control, but the fact that we were being uprooted twice, one would think they would want to make things right by compensating or taking a small percentage off the price. But they never reached out after that. If it wasn't for this, we would have a 5 star review across the board.

Clean and beautiful view

The cabin was very clean and inviting. Cleaner than most hotels. Easy rental and access. Communication through text and code was given right after registration. It’s set up almost like hotel registration without having to wait to get your key card. Everything worked as it should the view is beautiful. The patio is large and secure -you’re right on the waterway. The bed was firm the pull out was decent for a pullout and was more comfortable to watch tv on than the couch. Water had good pressure and stayed hot. There are enough plates bowls and coffee cups for four in the one bedroom. Glasses and silverware is plentiful. No griddle if you want an easier way to make breakfast but pots pans baking sheets and bowls provided. Plenty of empty cupboards for your food. They even have a dog blanket and bowls available for use. For those with dogs finding a place for them to go potty would be a challenge right now. The cabins are close to a busy road and the property is still under construction. There is some grass in front of the cabins but you can’t access it from the patio. Understandable for safety reasons. I see there are plans for a dog yard in the future and a campground which I’m excited about. The one bedroom is perfect for couples our daughter attends MTU and she stayed one night with us there was still room to walk around the cabin with the couch pulled out way more comfortable than a hotel room. Very cozy nice setup with amazing views -would stay again.
