We had a fun and relaxing stay here while touring Washington DC.

Unkept and unclean

This property would have been great for the family gathering if it had been clean, but there was dust and dirt everywhere and all the bathrooms had large amounts of hair on the floor. There was not enough forks for us to all eat at the same time and NO coffee cups. Towels were in short supply i.e. 8 adults and 4 children -only 5 towels. All landscaping was deteriorated and overgrown. Would definitely not recommend this property as it is not well stocked or maintained. Very disappointed in the quality and upkeep.

Worst Rental

Pool was not filled and door from the house to pool would not lock. House was occupied by 5 children under 11 and a man requiring a cane for mobility. House was dirty. Patio door was leaning against eh wall in living room. Chair leg was broken and chair crumbled when a 30# child sat on it. In one bedroom an electrical out let was uncovered. A cord designed to open a skylight hung in a loop 3 feet above the floor. 2 sets of stairs had no handrails. Washer and dryer required coins to operate. Electrical cords and outlets were unsafe. I will share photos of all of this.

Property is a construction zone and not as advertised! Do not book this property.

According to the listing the property had an inground pool and outdoor grill available for renters to enjoy the Memorial Day holiday. Upon arriving to the property the pool was green with animals swimming inside of it, the grill was filthy, and there was no propane available for the grill. Upon messaging the property owner we received no response and they changed their listing and removed the grill as an available option at the property and changed the dates the pool would be available which was not previously listed upon booking. In addition there were doors preparing for installment that were left in the middle of the living room, exposed electrical wires, and a random water fountain in the middle of the family room. Attempts to secure a refund after this terrible experience were refused by the owners despite their false advertising of their property. VRBO was also of no assistance to recoop any costs of this nightmare vacation. BUYER BEWARE. Do not book this property. It is unsafe and not as advertised!

SCAM ALERT-Does not match Photos!!

So, we did not actually end up staying at the property. We booked on an emergency basis (for my father's funeral) for nine people and did not look at reviews first. Big mistake. When we noticed the previous bad reviews, we contacted VRBO and were told we could not cancel but could take pictures and call the support team if the property was unacceptable. Which it was. We documented the dirty pool (the owners insist it is *stained*, not dirty, but either way it looks unappealing to swim in and did not match the pictures). The backyard was littered with trash, a crumpled towel, someone's discarded clothing, beer bottle caps, cigarette butts, and was overall weedy and unkempt. Also in the backyard was what we think used to be a water feature but was drained and you could see the construction plastic, etc. and at the bottom was a puddle of muddy/green standing water with flies and mosquitos. Next to that was a pile of construction/repair materials - a pile of large metal slats and a ladder laying down on top of the pile. Inside there was a broken bed frame, plastic tables and chairs set up as "desks"(?) in several bedrooms, plastic still on the mattress foundations, dirty carpet on the stairs, mismatched and weird dish collection. It was obviously only cleaned by owners NOT PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED. After VRBO initially promised to rebook us and agreed it was unacceptable, we had a hellacious experience (during my Dad's funeral week). Eventually had to dispute the charge with Amex.
