Clean and well maintained. Owners go the extra mile to make their guests comfortable. Provided local coffee, info on places to visit, and little extras throughout. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at Camp Haus. Everything we needed for cooking was available in the cabin. The cabin itself had beautiful views of the surrounding forest. We were the perfect distance from town, you felt like you were staying at a cabin with the convenience of town only 5 min away. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to others.
Oh my goodness, this place is beautiful. The grounds are meticulous, the cabins are adorable, beds comfortable, and there are so many thoughtful touches, we really just wanted to stay. Julie and George are lovely and so welcoming and kind, my grandkids were literally obsessed with him. In a good way! The 'island' area is so peaceful and relaxing, and did I say, Beautiful. Thank you so much for a lovely time!
It is a great space to stay for one person or even a couple. Beautiful area and kind and helpful owners!

About the host
Hosted by Julie Darrow
Hi! We are Julie and George Darrow - lovers of the outdoors, adventure, delicious food, craft cocktails, coffee, flowers and most of all our four young children. The Cabins at Blacktail were created with all of this in mind. A place to bring yourself, your partner, your family, your children to immerse yourselves in the beauty of our little slice of heaven - the Flathead Valley. Our cabins are each unique with their own patios or decks and focus on modern amenities with a vintage Montana cabin vibe. Enjoy the quiet, stargaze, listen to the running water of Stoner Creek and the natural spring, take your private path down to the "island" to explore, play yard games and later meet new friends at the fire pit. Above all, relax, refresh and rejuvenate your soul in the wild Montana outdoors! We're happy to have you!
Why they chose this property
The Cabins at Blacktail property sits on a beautiful, secluded and heavily forested 4 acres. The surroundings are quiet, the creek is audibly flowing, the stars are bright and lights are dim. With the town of Lakeside just 3 miles away, you will feel tucked away in the wilderness yet close to all the comforts of city life close by. Lakeside offers quaint local coffee shops, a fully stocked grocery store, a fun and delicious brewery and the only publicly accessed park and "beach" in the surrounding area - Volunteer Park. Rent paddle boards, kayaks or take a dip in the cool crystal clear waters of Flathead Lake. Play frisbee, have a picnic or sip a coffee or tea with a good book. If mountain biking is your speed, visit Lakeside's own Legacy Bike Park or hit the hiking and ATV trails up Blacktail Mountain. Visiting in late summer? Pick fresh huckleberries mountainside or pick up some cherries and apples from Lakeside's family owned Cherry Haus. Day trip? Travel up to Glacier National Park at just 45 minutes away but make sure you have reserved your day pass. With Whitefish, Kalispell and Bigfork within short driving distance, the opportunities are endless for an incredible adventure!
