Beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff

Daniel, Manuel, Mariano, Oskar, and the entire staff went above and beyond to provide exceptional hospitality and create a truly memorable experience for us. The property itself is beautiful, with lush gardens and charming farm animals. Every morning, we enjoyed fresh eggs collected directly from the farm. The food at the restaurant was prepared with remarkable flavor and variety, and I can confidently say it was the best we had in Costa Rica.We stayed in Casa la Heliconia, a stunningly designed retreat with impeccable taste and style. We loved how the house was nestled among tropical plants, offering a sense of seclusion, while the open patio and large glass windows allowed us to fully appreciate the beauty of nature. It was a stay filled with happy memories that we will cherish!

Great Villa

Really enjoyed staying at La Finca. All the benefits of a hotel - pool, restaurant, housekeeping - with the privacy and intimacy of your own cabin. This particular villa, Heliconia, is just across from the reception building, but landscaping provides a nice buffer and privacy. The layout is such that you walk into the kitchen and common living room, and bedrooms with en suite baths are on either side of this common area. Both are nice size and well appointed - and both anre air-conditioned which made for comfortable sleeping. The landscaping provides a great deal of privacy to the common area and from the deck, but makes the space feel a little closed in. It might benefit by having the landscaping on this side trimmed down a bit to bring in the lovely pastoral and volcano views. Not much walkable from this location, but a great launching point for the fun and varied activities in the area. Our favorite was the safari kayak tour offered by Canoa Aventura. The grounds here are also very pleasant, not an active ranch but lots of happy animals and on site stables if you’d like to book a ride. Very efficient and gracious staff - overall a highly recommended stay!

Ideal vacation spot

La Finca was a true highlight of our trip. The staff, the food, the pool, the atv tour with Danny all will stay as memories for us for a lifetime. We are thankful for gps to find the place, there are no signs on the access road and we thought we were in the wrong place until we parked the car. Our family was looking for an authentic Costa Rican stay where we could relax after our daily adventure and feel comfortable and safe. That is exactly what we had at La Finca!

Beautiful villa

I stayed in villa heliconia with my 2 sisters. It was a nice, clean, spacious villa with two bedrooms, three comfy beds, various hammocks and a full kitchen/dining area. The grounds are beautiful, the food delicious and the host and staff are amazing - so friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to explore la fortuna area, but honestly just hanging out at the finca/villa is a lovely experience all in itself.

Amazing!!!!

The entire place was amazing, staff were always helpful and friendly, food was wonderful, pool and hot tub were sooo nice. We went to the hot springs on atv’s which was a blast! Didn’t want to have to leave this place! We will be back!!

The reviews do not lie. This place was incredible. Great to work with, very helpful with making plans, the food was great onsite. Loved the privacy and quiet on the farm, but still lots to do and enjoy right there and close by. We rented a vehicle and that made it very easy to do all that we wanted.

Beautiful quiet and peaceful

My family enjoyed our stay at Estabans home. We loved thay there was a tree line between the home and the beach so we had privacy when the beach was busy on the weekends. It was dead at the beach durring the week giving us a peaceful place to enjoy our tine ine Punta Uva. The house was functional and nicely appointed. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. There is a short hike to the left of the beach to the hole in the rock formation allowing some great pics. Just wear water shoes as there are some sea urchins. You can also walk out the gate on the road and turn right and a short walk you will be at another beach that gives beautiful sunsets. We liked staying in Punta Uva as its quiet compared to Puerto Viejo but just a short drive there doe shopping and dinner options.

Beautiful location and friendly people

This was without a doubt our favorite accommodation of our trip in Costa Rica. The setting was absolutely stunning, the location was convenient, the food was delicious, but the thing we loved most was how kind everyone was. They went above and beyond in every way. It's a run by a family and we met all five of them and they were all so genuine. We also went on an ATV tour with Andres. He was wonderful and spotted all kinds of wildlife for us. The tour was my favorite activity for my trip. I cannot recommend this place enough and everyone in my group agrees.

Absolute Paradise

I can't say enough about this hidden gem! Our family of four (kids 4 & 9) stayed here for only 3 nights...not nearly enough time :( We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, on-site restaurant, open air kitchen, hammock on the porch and other amenities offered on site. We took the ATV tour to the hot springs which is an absolute must; not crowded like other tourist spots. Good location for traveling to other scenic spots recommended by the staff like Dino Land, Blue Falls and Mistico Hanging Bridges. I am counting down the days until we can come back to this slice of heaven.

A Wonderful Place

We spent a week on the property with another couple. The accommodations were large and well furnished. The views of the countryside and horse pastures are great, the staff members were universally friendly and helpful at all times, the various activates we engaged in and the food served i the restaurant were all wonderful and exceeded expectations.

Great place!

It was a great place. The little restaurant on site was fantastic. The people running the place were great and very informative. We would totally recommend this for others and would come back if the opportunity arises! Please note that the bedrooms are air conditioned well, but the shared living spaces are not. It was not a problem, however! It added to the tranquility.

Just stay here!

This stay was the highlight of my time in Costa Rica. This villa was perfect for our family, the rooms were perfect, comfortable beds, cool a/c, panoramic windows, on suite bathrooms, etc.! The open air kitchen and living area was a nice and welcome change and I loved it. The patio chairs and hammock were perfect for relaxing and listening and watching the nature around you. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. Someone seemed to always be there whenever we needed anything or had any questions to ask and always had great recommendations. A special thanks to Andres for all his attention, especially towards our 5 year old son, who just loved him! Another special thanks to Ana and Daniel, who are extremely friendly and helpful. The property itself is beautiful and we said numerous times that we felt like we were at our own private resort! Would love to come back one day!

Heaven on Earth

Where do I begin? The lodge is one of the most wonderful places on earth. The casita we stayed in was open to the elements (aside from the rooms which were air conditioned), and while I was nervous about bugs at first, it was not an issue whatsoever. The view from the porch was remarkable with horses galloping across the mountain skyline at sunrise. A few steps from the front door is a wonderful restaurant for the lodge guests, which serves food sourced from their garden mainly. I had some of the best meals of my life there. La Fortuna was about 35 minutes away, but we were always happy to return home at the end of the day. It was so nice not being around the hustle and bustle of tourists. The staff at the lodge make you feel like home immediately. They even offered to make us sandwiches for our trip to the airport on the last day. My family and I will never forget the magic experienced here, and are forever grateful. We look forward to returning soon! Pura Vida!

A Hidden Gem!

As we were driving up the dirt road, I started to wonder if I had made a mistake. As soon as we entered the gate, I realized we had found paradise. The grounds are beautiful, the villas are gorgeous, and the people make you feel so welcomed. Manuel gave us an amazing tour and then continue to check in with us throughout our stay. Daniel took us on an amazing ATV tour. The pool was a lovely place to relax and catch some sun. If you have a chance, I highly recommend La Finca Lodge!

Peaceful Costa Rican Retreat

The villa was perfect. Quiet and peaceful. While it was a short 30 minute drive into La Fortuna, we really enjoyed being away from the activity. All of the staff was warm and welcoming. Manuel in particular went above and beyond for us. Also recommend the ATV tour from the property. Danny was a great guide and that tour was the highlight of the trip. If you are planning on visiting La Fortuna, this is the best place to stay and get away and enjoy a stress free vacation.

Such an amazing vacation in paradise

My family and I are leaving this piece of heaven today and are sure to return! The accommodations are beautiful and peaceful, we can hear all the sounds of Costa Rica from our casa. Upon arrival we were greeted like family. We arrived a bit early and Dennis made us delicious cold fruit smoothies while our casa was being prepared. The pool and hot tub were pleasant and breakfast in the morning so delicious. Such a lovely, lush place to sip coffee and have breakfast. The private tours offered here are amazing. The family and I had the pleasure to take a private ATV tour to the hot springs with Grievin who was so attentive and made sure the experience left us with memories to last a lifetime. He pointed out sloth along the way, taking time for us to get amazing photos and video. We hate to leave but are glad to to have the opportunity to experience paradise.

Beautiful and private villas in the mountains

An absolute perfect getaway with my daughter. Two bedrooms with full baths provided some personal space. Open kitchen, dining and sitting area with views over a horse pasture and distant volcano view. Kitchen was well stocked for all cooking needs, and items were very clean. Property had hiking paths and offered tours from their property. Staff went out of their way to help with bags and provided information for tours. We hated to leave such a serene environment. We stayed at four different properties across northern Costa Rica and this is one we will return to.

Beautiful property, excellent service, & great location!

The villa is beautifully designed overlooking the horse pastures and providing a great view of the landscape of the region. The rooms were spacious with large private bathrooms. The living area was open-air which really made you feel like you were in the countryside (no doubt the hammocks and rocking chairs helped). Esteban was a wonderful host. He kept in contact throughout the trip, from our initial inquiry until after checkout. He assisted us in planning and booking a lot of our activities in the area, including zip-lining and white water rafting, so definitely talk to him if you are looking for things to do. They do a great ATV ride from the ranch to a nearby hot spring that is definitely worth checking out! He also has great recommendations for food in the area if you are not looking to cook during your trip. They provide daily cleaning, have a pool, and breakfast is available on-site. You get the feel of a private rental with all of the amenities of a hotel. I highly recommend checking out Villa Heliconia at La Finca during your next trip to Costa Rica.

Beautiful spot!

Absolutely the Best!

As it was our first time going to Costa Rica we were unsure of what to expect. All the positive reviews are spot on! Esteban, his staff, the property, equipment, animals, and the facilities are top notch and maintained in near new condition. Breakfast cooked in your villa is awesome, laundry on site (inexpensive) is a convenience you can't get in most places. Esteban took care of everything for us from rental car at Liberia airport to onsite activities (ATVs, horseback riding), and even offsite arrangements for zip lining in La Fortuna and tour of La Paz Gardens. It would be an understatement to say that he goes above and beyond being an excellent host! You won't regret it.

Magical stay that exceeded our expectations!

We arrived based on a friends reccomendation and couldn't have been more pleased. We are a family of four with two teenagers. We are an active family and enjoyed relaxing in our well appointed Casita as well getting out and experiencing incredible excursions. The Casita was comfortable, private and equipped with all modern conveniences. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Esteban was extremely helpful and coordinted our activities. He took the time to understand our family's preferences. He does not steer you wrong. We couldn't have been more pleased with the amazing activities that felt one of a kind and not overridden with tourists. We especially enjoyed the river rafting, horseback riding and ATV ride to the magical hot springs. We highly reccomend these outings but would defer to Estaban's suggestions for your family. You will experience a very special Costa Rica. Thank you Esteban and team!

Wonderful Family Experience! Pura Vida!

Where do we begin? We went down for Spring Break with our 3 kids(11,9 & 5) and we had a blast. We stayed in Villa Heliconia and we loved the setup with the kitchen and living area being out in the open and the two bedrooms on each opposite side. The balcony provided a great view of the mountains in the background with the horses grazing in the pasture. The AC worked really well, since it was really nice and warm down there. There was so much to do on the property for the kids starting with the pool and moving on to some hiking that we did on the property. The kids also enjoyed seeing the stables where the horses were kept and even helped in feeding the horses. Esteban and his staff were wonderful and very attentive to all of our needs! Esteban even helped us out with the car rental, which we greatly appreciated. Driving from San Jose was an adventure in itself, but we finally made it to our destination and were very impressed by our villa. We ended up doing the ATV tour and horseback riding tours, which we highly recommend. The great thing about these tours is that it ends up being a private family tour. We hate going on group tours with a bunch of people that we do not know. The tours were at our own pace and the ATV tour ends with us reaching the hot springs and relaxing in them for about and hour. Our tour guide Alonzo was very good with the kids and provided us with some very fun tours. We drove thru the pineapple plantations and got to see how they are cultivated. The horseback riding was a wonderful experience for our kids that had never been on horses before. The horses were really good with the kids and my 5 year old even had his own horse! We even got to eat some fresh fruit straight off the trees! We ended up leaving from here to Jaco so I'm really glad that we did the horseback and ATV tours here where we really got to enjoy ourselves as a family. The location was great and we got to also see how the sugar cane is cut and carried away when we went on the ATV tour. We were able to cook breakfast there at the villa and there are plenty of local stores nearby that have everything that you would need to cook yourself some meals. Spend some time here away the hustle and bustle of the big cities with your family if you want to find a place to relax and still have some stuff to do. We strive to give our guests a sense of traditional Costa Rica country hospitality. Our farm has spectacular horses, from fiery stallions to placid draft horses, and our soft stepping Pasofinos. We have an assortment of pets -- from a Dachshund to a water buffalo, and a pet pig that sleeps with the horses, plus several sheep that share dinner with our mares. And our three kids. the heart of our life in our farm. Centaura Farm is a lot like Charlotte's web. Our farm has an old-fashioned soul with very modern ideas of comfort. Our goal is that you leave us with huge regret - and that you will be back soon.

Why they chose this property

Our farm is only 20 minutes from Fortuna (the base of fiery Arenal volcano) yet borders on wilderness, rivers and forests where we ride horses and ATV's and hike without the press of tourism. Bird watching and playing in hot springs, swimming in crystalline waters -- all nearby and all private for you. Plus hot springs and belching Arenal volcano only 20 minutes away. It is a great place to raise our family.
