This 1910 square foot condo was originally designed to be the retirement home of the Bears Den developer. He made the bedrooms so large, that one bedroom has been divided into a spacious king room and a sunny day room with panoramic views of the Front Range. We cannot call this a three bedroom condo because the unit has only two parking spaces, but with two twin beds, the day room (office #1 above) is essentially a third bedroom. The huge great room has panoramic windows with views of both downtown Frisco, majestic Buffalo Mountain and the Front Range (including the 14er’s Grays and Torres Peaks), while the upstairs bedrooms offer the same, plus views of the Ten Mile Range. The Rowe sectional sofa is Relaxation Central, where tired skiers and hikers can stretch out in front of the fire, a view of Buffalo Mountain, and a 75-inch Sony Bravia Smart TV.
If you don’t fall asleep on the luxurious sofa and have enough energy for another short climb, ascend to the second level where you’ll have the choice of a Queen Bedroom with two Simmons Beautyrest queen beds, a twin bed, a private bath OR a King Bedroom with a Beautyrest king OR a Sunroom/Dayroom double twin daybed. The King and Day rooms share a full bath with glass shower enclosure.
Only one block from Main Street, Bears Den guests are only a short walk from a dozen dining experiences from the elegance of Vinny’s, to family fare at the Butterhorn, Greco's and Kemosabe Sushi, to the best pizza in Summit County at Peppino’s. Top them off with an ice cream cone or fudge treat at Foote's Rest less than 100 yards from Bears Den. Or a local craft beer at The Moosejaw or the Brewery, also on Main Street. Not to mention browsing a multitude of shops offering sporting goods and clothing, ladies’ apparel, gifts and antiques, baby items, novelties, and bargain consignments.
Also less than one block from the Bears Den are the stops for the Summit Stage Free Shuttle, which will whisk you directly to Copper Mountain in 10 minutes, to Breckenridge in 20 minutes, and, with a shuttle change, to Keystone in about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you may take your rental car from your spot in Bears Den’s heated underground garage to any of the 4 local resorts in even less time, or to Vail (21 miles west) or Beaver Creek (34 miles west) via I-70.
Incidentally, Bears Den A8 is one of only 3 condos in Bears Den served by an elevator to the heated garage below, so hauling groceries or outdoor equipment need not involve tramping through the elements or up stairs.
In summer, you’ll have no need for a car to enjoy the frequent art shows and festivals on Frisco’s Main Street, or the July 4th Concert and Fireworks down at the Frisco Marina on Lake Dillon. In fact, the July 4th Parade ends just outside A8! Frisco is very safe, so family members of nearly all ages can come and go at each one’s individual pace and endurance, gaining access to A8 by using our special combination access (changed between rentals) so that there is no need to keep track of keys.
Bears Den A8 is professionally cleaned by an experienced individual (not an agency) who takes pride in her work and reports directly to Maryann, the property manager. In fact, Maryann's contact information is right on the front door and she is just a phone call away should you have any problems or concerns.
Overall, Bears Den A8 is as user-friendly an accommodation as any in Summit County. We’ll bet that you will want to return year after year.
