We stayed here for my bachelorette weekend. Everyone commented on how big the place was and it was very clean! The group loved the massage chairs! Even though we didn’t spend much time at the lake area, we found lots of other things to do in the house including pink pong, volleyball, and a fire pit! The place is very clearly a “new build” so there are some new construction quirks, but we enjoyed it. The kitchen was well stocked with basic items as well! This should not be a surprise to anyone since youre in a wooded lake area but expect some ants and bees around. We found the host to be very friendly and responsive. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun getaway close to DC with a large group. Thanks for having us!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay here at Lake Castle retreat. The cleanlines of the property and the overall accomodatuons of my family, was A. We will be renting again in the upcoming year!
It was a great experience and my 9yr old twins had so much fun! Though it never snowed () it was so nice and relaxing! Thank you for sharing your property!
The property is amazing. Very big and spacious. The massage chairs where awesome. The scary is the woods(to many movies) but the lake is beautiful. Surrounded by nature. The host was amazing. Would definitely stay again.
Host Thuan was always just a message or call away-very quick to respond. We had a few questions- he answered quickly and efficiently. Very pleasant and accommodating. The Castle was perfect for our Family Celebration. Kitchen well stocked, spacious, functional. The place is very roomy, and quite elegant. It is a work in progress. Lots of toys great kayaks and fire pits. Downstairs is amazing-so much to do! Gorgeous setting at Lake Anna. Huge yard.
Our group of 14 stayed at the house and loved it! The house is huge and pictures are very accurate. We own our own boat and it was no problem getting the boat into the water at the marina and anchoring at the house. The massage chairs were a huge hit and house has a dream basement! Plenty of floats and kayaks and a paddle board. We played volleyball and there are multiple fire pits. 2 full-size frig. And 2 sets washer and dryer. Plenty of linens and towels for everyone. We would definitely stay there again. Communication was easy with property manager.
Our group had a great experience staying at this property. It was clean, had plenty of linens and blankets, and provided plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the property.
The check in process was smooth and the checkout process was one of the best ones I’ve had staying at a VRBO. The owner was easy to get ahold of and communicate with and proactively communicated every step of the way.
We enjoyed walking down to the lake (great sunset!). We were able to launch our boat at the nearby marina and then beach the boat directly behind the house during the day. We also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board provided.
Out back of the property, there was plenty of space to play yard games. We played volleyball on the provided net and brought cornhole, spike ball, and just some other balls to throw and kick around.
Inside the house, the bedrooms were adequately equipped and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for our group of 10 adults. We didn’t realize until we got there that there were 6 massage chairs in the living room. That was a really nice surprise.
The bathrooms were also well equipped and worked well for us. We only did laundry once, but the house has two laundry rooms which would be great for a longer stay.
The only thing the house was lacking in was lounging furniture. We couldn’t really spread out as an entire group in one area except on the deck (which was great!)
We had a great time and plan to be back if we do this again. Thanks for having us!
WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF STAYING AT THE CASTLE JUNE 8-JUNE 13. WHEN WE 1ST BOOKED THE PLACE WAS ALREADY BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH BUT IN THE 5 MONTHS THE OWNER HAD ADDED 3 DECKS AND EVEN GOT US A KEURIG MACHINE. WE TOOK OUR PONTOON BOAT DOWN AND ALTHOUGH THE OWNER HAS AN AGREEMENT WITH A MARINA @ 10 MIN AWAY WE DECIDED TO USE DUKES MARINA ASIT WAS ONLY $10 TO LAUNCH. WE WERE ABLE TO DOCK OUR PONTOON AT THE PROPERTY SO IT WAS WELL WORTH SAVING TIME AND GAS. THE DECK OFF THE MAIN LEVEL IS AWESOME. WE HUNG OUT THERE THE MOST. IT HAD A VERY NICE GAS FIRE PIT AND PLENTY OF SEATING. AT NIGHT WE ENTERTAINED OURSELVES DOWN STAIRS AT THE POKER TABLE, POOL TABLE (NON REGULATION), AND PING PONG AND ALSO HUNG OUT ON THE BACK PATIO. ONE OF MY GUEST HAD TO WORK AND THERE WAS A NICE DESK ON THE UPPER LEVEL THAT WAS PERFECT. WE HAD 3 COUPLES, 4INGLE PEOPLE AND 2 DOGS. THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM AND WE DID NOT FEEL WE WERE “ON TOP OF EACH OTHER”. THE HOST ALLOWED US TO CHECK IN EARLY. WE DID HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE DISHWASHER SO WE HAD TO WASH DISHES FOR THE MOST PART BUT IT REALLY ENHANCED OUR TOGETHERNESS. SOMEONE COOKED, SOMEONE DID DISHES AND SOMEONE DRIED AND PUT AWAY. AGAIN IT WAS BIG ENOUGH TO WHERE IT WASN'T TO CROWDED TO HAVE 4 PEOPLE IN THE KITCHEN DOING SOMETHING. WE DID EXPERIENCE A WATER ISSUE WHERE WE LOST WATER. I TEXTED THE HOST @ 4PM AND HE HAD AN SERVICE TECH OUT AT 930 THE NEXT MORNING. WE REGAINED WATER WHILE THE TECHNICIAN WAS THERE AND WENT BACK TO ENJOYING OUR VACATION.

Lake Castle Review
Positives: The home had a nice path to the lake and the kayaks and paddleboards were readily available. The kitchen and main living area were spacious with sufficient furniture to accommodate 10 for meals and being together very well. The basement bar was perfect for the winetasting event. Plenty of hot water for showers. Nice propane firepit w/ plenty of seating on the deck. Negatives; Home and grounds not well maintained. Weeds surrounded the home, a variety of building materials and other things lay around the house and in the yard. Grass had not been cut. Carpentry and finishings were not good - paint on the floors, all walls needed painting, exposed light sockets in ceilings w/o fixtures, table lamps w/o working switches in bedrooms, dishwasher pulled out of the cabinet (not a portable), mattresses did not fit bed frames well in some rooms, windows very dirty, extraneous cushions and other things on the decks, which appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. Uneven flooring and dangerous bottom step in basement stairwell, air conditioning vent in main floor powder room too small for the hole- dangerous if stepped on. Single panel curtains on uneven rods in bedrooms. Bottom Line; if in good repair with good quality furnishings in the bedrooms, this home would be a great place. However, the photos of the home did not accurately reflect the condition of the home. I cannot recommend this property.
My group of adults and infants had a fantastic weekend at the Lake Castle. The house had everything we needed to make us comfortable and we loved both renting a pontoon from a nearby marina and splashing right off the shoreline in the backyard. Lots of big communal areas but also enough bedrooms to give everyone their personal space. Hope to visit again!
The host was super responsive and helpful beforehand and throughout our stay! The house was very clean and big as seen in pictures, great number of beds and bathrooms, nicely appointed. The access to the lake was very easy with boat and also nice to have the kayaks and floats at the house to use. It was a super hot weekend and we had an issue with temps on main floor and in basement, but host was again very responsive, tried his best to help, and we were able to work everything out.
This was a great place to rent for our family. The house was huge, had a beautiful stocked kitchen and plenty of entertainment space for us to gather together. Everyone slept comfortably and we loved the beautiful two main suites. Thuan was an excellent host, and was always available to answer questions. We will be back.
